Ianh ignore the trolls that lives here... Good idea for a tournament.

Venko i swear it wasn't trolling. I was actually thinking what bot would perform the best. (just like S32... before he actually started trolling)

Yes it's a good idea, and yes i'm going to enter. I have several ideas.

I love Paroxysm (4 chained disc VS :O), your flail SnS (you know that already) and PoD (Jugglers ftw).

However, Casualty looks like it has exposed extenders against a mace HS, and i'm not sure about your 2 ice pick HS, especially against other HS. But if it's for variety then respect.

Modifications / Hardest stock AI bot?

all bots are easy with a lw that has like 10 razor tips, all on extenders. shove them on a bot with wheels and HPZ drive on both sides. in 1-10 direct hits the other bot it belching out bright, blue sparks. then you don't even need to move in for the kill cause it's already killed.

Behold! Iron Storm 4 !

Destructive as heck with the flails. Also it spins at least 2 times faster than the previous one thanks to the motors placed correctly.

(weapon setup absolutely noot inspired by inf's work)

Might remove these pole spikes, use maces and change to a black batt however... kinda short on battery power.

First edition of the rules.
Quote
                 All-Out DSL Duels

General Rules:

-DSL.

-No custom/Stock/cheatbot2 parts at all (excepted custom smartzones). An exception might be made for hovercrafts if both contestants use them.

-Realistic rule. No stacking and burst enhancing. EFFeing, axle loading and snapper loading are accepted if they could be implemented in real life. No overlapping,  though a diminutive amount of overlapping will be accepted. No AAM.

-All weight classes accepted including SHW's (800.1-1200 kg)

-Arenas allowed:
Deathmatch: DSL Tournament, Drum of Death or Combat Arena
KotH:  All
Tabletop: DSL Blade Arena or Claw Top

-Possible bot type selection (optional).

How to Enter

-Challenge someone. Both duelists will agree with the weightclass, the arena used and the (again, optional) bot type selection. Do NOT fill the thread with details, just agree by PM and then announce the challenge on the official thread.

-Send the AI-ed bots to me, as secret entries. I insist, AI-ed. I will not interfere in any way on how the bots fight and will NOT tweak the AI.  Custom .py's allowed.

-I WILL require a minimum bot quality to enter. All bots will have to be at least decently built to enter.

-I will then post quickly a mini-splash of the two bots, with a few additional info.

-Then several days later a vid of three 3-minute matches. I will give my marks for the bonus points, but will only confirm them later (i'm sure there will be reactions on these marks)

Seasons

A season will consist of 10 duels. No builder can get more than 2 duels in the same season.

Ranking and Points System

-A succesful duel will make you enter into the duelist ranking.

-Points are primarly based on wins but will be modified by several bonuses:

KO: 15 points
OOTA: 15 points
Immobility: 12 points
WBP: 9 points

A 3-0 score will award +10 additional points to the winner.

-Bonus points
Bonus points will be additional points given to a bot . These will be awarded on 4 domains: Building Skill (max +10), Combat Prowess (max +10), Aesthetics (max +5) and AI-ing (max +5).

On Season 1, I will give the additional points, but will take constructive feedback into account in my awarding of these.

On Season 2+, I and the three best duelists will give them.

-Penalties

Each Havok that will affect mildly the outcome of the match will remove 2 points. A havok that helped a lot a bot will remove 10 points, and a havok that obviously gave the victory to the havoking bot will stop the match, and that will be one match removed. No restart.

-Effect of Ranking on points won

On Season 3+, a ratio will be created for each duel. It will be (Total points of the loser/Total points of the winner). The winner of the duel will then have it's points won  multiplied by that ratio.
That basically means that a high-rank duelist won't get many points by winning a duel against a low-rank duelist, but a low-rank duelist will get more points by winning a duel against a high-rank duelist. Ratio can't get under 0.5 and over 1.5.

Notice that new duelists are not considered having 0 points (it would mess up the system).

Here. Any feedback? I might change a few things... and will create the Splashes and Videos thread when finished.

___

Also, can an admin change the thread's title to "All-Out DSL Duels : Rules and discussion" please?

For El Diablo... are we going to get the real tank treads you're going to use on the thing as a stock part ?

gosh i thought it would have been filled up by now. still no defending champ hmm? i love how they win one and chicken out, its like they know they won't go as good next time xD come on naryar!

D'you think it's that easy to make a bot that is not only uncommon, but decently cool-looking and combat efficient?

You can get shinies easily.

And a wedge would be a nice add-on.
