Since it appears that Mouldy King Bash is trying to spam up the forum and get himself banned...

G.K. if you end up taking this tourney over I can take care of the Brackets and Splash if you feel overwhelmed.  PM me if you need help.

Eh, sorry mate, but alot of people wanted it to be realistic ( I count 9002 votes :P ) so yeah.

Can you reame this the Popup only tourney if it's going to be realistic? Thank you.

Why? Well, HS will be near impossible with a premade chassis, Crawlers are banned, VS will be impossible with premade chassi again, Rammers will be useless, Hammers will be useless, and that is about it.

If anyone can build a realistic HS that doesn't need to have insane amounts of welding and can kick a popups ass (AND PROVE IT WITH PICS!) Be my guest.

But I can tell you, a popup WILL WIN, and the fact that they will outnumber everything else 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999/1 won't be the only reason.

(Unless you ban Ronin's chassis.)

Heh, I just finished my bot for this... (its a Poker).

Looking over some of the chassis' for the AI bots... there are very very few that could be used for a decent popup.  There are several that could be modified to be very impressive HSers and VSers.  I will try to work on one this afternoon.

no that system doesn't work

keeping in with realism electric motors cannot reach much more speeds then a duel perm so its for realism purposes, Blendo and Warhead both used gas engines (by gas it means internal combustion not air)

my original plans sent to serge looked like this

https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/37233gasspinner.PNG

by his way of thinking turned out much cooler

Heh, those look like dark blue NOS bottles... That would be interesting if we could make the motors work on air & create a NOS bottle with values something like: -Lasts only 4 seconds  -Spins the motor at 60bajillion RPM during those 4 seconds.

That would be fun.  I think a NOS bottle would be an awesome custom component though. I am trying to think of something practical to use it with other than the coolness factor... I am failing though.

Looks like bubble wrap... you should name it bubble wrap.  :gawe:

In all seriousness though, that design scares the heck out of me.  If you design it to have a great wedge, it looks like it would be un-killable.  However, because it would need a few seconds to properly flip itself over when the match starts, a 6wd rammer could possibly get there soon enough to surprise it.  A match between this and Stratocaster would be fun to watch.

Very innovative!

Haha! That thing is pretty awesome.  If you enter it in a tourney though I think it will start an angry mob. How does it fare in battle?

MikeNCR already made a DSL bot named "pretty hate machine" (with NIN album cover paintjob too) in his showcase.  Maybe you can call this one Downward Spiral?  :P

I'm still curious as to who voted me. Anyone gonna own up? :|

Poor Redline... gonna lose sleep over it eh?

Ranks

DSL 5

123Savethewhales (My current favorite showcase to watch. I admire 123's technical approach and uncanny understanding of the component statistics to build his bots.  I am learning so much from his building (and my DSL building is pretty bleh)

Naryar (The man! The Legend! When you think DSL you think of Naryar... I only put him second to 123 because some of his bots just lack a certain excitemtent to them.  Might be because they are refined... or because he is distracted with Nar AI.)

The Ounce (Excellent building skills! It is very obvious that he learns from looking at other showcases. I have watched his talents improve greatly by learning from others.)

Pwnator (Solid builder... approaching legendary status. Whenever you see that you are facing pwn in a tourney... You cant help but feel like you are going to lose.)

Scrap Daddy (When he is not playing MW2... He tosses a spectacular bot into his showcase that makes us all drool.)

Stock 5

Roboshark (He owned in BBEANS with a popup... that had frickin' swords on it! I normally hate popups... but he brought a pretty innovative bot to the table that did insanely well. Every element of his building impresses me... the refinement of the design, skins, naming, etc etc.)

Sage (Never seems to back down from a stock challenge. Always a contender in Stock BOTM. Very impressive and skilled with making bots that strike fear in our hearts.)

Scrap Daddy (Legendary in stock. Makes some of the most fearsome jugglers out there.)

Virus Bomb (Deserves credit for being a solid active builder. Steady improvements over time and is emerging to be one of the better current builders of the community.)

RedlineM203 (Same as Virus Bomb... except with insanely awesome paintjobs on bots. Nearly all of Redline's bots look great and well thought out.  I don't think I have ever seen a messy bot from this guy. One of my favorite current builders.

Contributor 1
123Savethewhales  (I didn't take component txt files very seriously until this guy came along seemingly memorized them all. He has helped me improve my building skills, and I hope that others are learning form him too.)

Your new bot is now underweight *sigh*

Please follow the instructions that i posted on the previous page and you should be able to fit another set of razors on one of the tribars... maybe both if you play with some of the extender work for your drive arms.

If you don't, I give up on this showcase.

Uhm... Sparkey... you are not really good with computers.  Giving advice about them isn't a sound idea.

xanosz, did you download the patch for the game?  Which version are you playing (the cd or download)?

Doing better dude!

Plusses: Well armoured, good weaponry, built to the weight limit! *gasp*

Awesome.

Bad stuff:
chassis is fat... take it off the McDonalds.
Learn to use the other connection points on extenders instead of relying on t connectors.
you should try to base the build in the middle of the chassis so that the bot will be invertible. You kept your baseplate connectors pretty low... if they were higher toward the middle i think your bot might be invertible, tough to say.

Because you did so well with improvement... I am going to make a quick tutorial for something that will improve this bot greatly.. give me a half an hour.

Heh, I made Jonzu nervous. :D  Don't worry... I will take Joeblo's warning seriously and not derail the thread with potential Dawn smackdowns.

He didn't say anything about Ash though.

I have to say... I think these tallies are pretty bad. I mean, I love 123STW's building too, but there is no way in heck he's the top DSL builder. Naryar, Pwn, and Reier are all better right now IMO, and what's with Scrap Daddy getting no love in stock? Scrap, Inf, Pys and Pwn are all more deserving than Sage of the second spot too. Not that I don't like Sage's building, I just think that there's five better stock builders than him at the moment.

Honestly, I based my votes on people that are building bots right now or have been in the past half a year.  I haven't seen any action from Inf and Psy since the last BBEANS.  While I do agree that they are excellent builders, I thought this vote was about who are the best builders now.  Not, who are the best builders in the history of RA2.  We have seen a lot of new members come into the forum and the only exposure they have to Inf & Psy's building skill is through digging in old showcases.

I had to hold myself back from voting for Tankcat... who I think is insanely good at stock. But he has been gone for a long time too unfortunately.

Some of the vets are fading out of memory due to inactivity... this voting is proof.

Apparently I am the only one that gives love to the first one.  Man I loved that game, it was the only C&C game I played. It was so challenging and innovative when it came out.  I had to balance my time between that and Myth. Both of them were insanely addictive.

I cant, for the life of me find the actual quote but it made me laugh pretty hard. It might have been deleted.

It went something like this:

Naryar: "I am pretty sure that Noooob D Nooob is not LRA2"

llooop D llooop: "I am not sure if I should thank you or punch you in the face."

classic.
