yep that's a servo :P just part of an experiment I'm conducting, due to lack of battery available for AW's i figure that a servo might be better for longer fights then a RAD would.
i was in CombatAnts 1 i think, pretty sure i lost 1st round though :)

thank you :) ok guys it's time for some more AW action :D 8 new AW's are going to do battle. AW tourney 2 splash: AW tourney 2 brackets (chosen randomly from the hat program): Some aren't as good as I hoped they would be, but most should be fun to watch.

yeah i know i like to stick to the light weight classes, it's just more fun for me to try and build bots no one has seen before in those weight classes. I was also a little confused between the difference of some advanced users and some Veterans for example SSG is a vet and MikeNCR is advanced :/

hey guys I've been wondering what is needed to achieve veteran status on the forums. I've been around for about 7 years or so, hosted more tournaments then most, showcased a heap of bots and helped out the new people.
to sum up, i would like a purple title :)

I drew CPIV as my opponent in my first ever BBEANS match believe it actually lost one round due to it not being invertible too >.>

so it doesn't crash the game or so it faces the right way? use omniram binding for the crash and just change the nose binding for it if it's facing the wrong way.

my rammer isn't invertible and it beat the popup via immobility >.>

my old LW rammer and BBEANS 3(?) entry aggression was pretty unlucky in the tournament so i downloaded the 200 team AI pack to see how it would have done against other opponents, 1st one was Bio Quad: it's funny the way my bot happened to face the camera while bio got counted out :D

hey so i finally got around to narrowing down this problem i have been having with the re-stocked AI pack, turns out that only rammers crash the game and now I'm thinking maybe i need a special rammer.py file?
oh I'm also having problems with Inf's AI pack where robots after the first few teams crash the game :/

having 2 "arms" going out the front of the bot at the sides helps a lot with stability issues.

Video mag stuff in response to trov:
i thought about how often one would have to work on the video etc. and a video each week is certainly possible, i know when i host tournaments I'm pretty quick to get the videos together and uploaded. with Robo Zone i uploaded one of the challenges a day and got it completed in under a week.
we would just have to find a dedicated person or better yet a group of people who work on different parts of the "RA2 show". for example you could have me working on showcases, getting pics together with info and someone like Sage working on the tourney part and throw together some highlight packs for reviews and add a promo/preview in if there's a tournament coming up.

anyone feel the forum is missing something? i do and it got me thinking...
1. An RA2 weekly(?) wrap-up, a video that covers all happenings for the past week in tournaments, showcases and discussions. people could use this weekly video magazine to promote tournaments and/or get their bots recognized.
2. A yearly All-stars tournament, BBEANS happens roughly every year so what if we had a yearly all-star tournament featuring the 10 best robots in the lw, mw and hw weight classes from both stock and dsl versions of the game (60 robots). The best 10 could be decided on by the veterans etc. and pulled from showcases and/or tournaments from that past year.

the box doesn't need to be beetleweight or lightweight :P the weight doesn't matter for the box it just needs to be equally defended on all sides (top and bottom included) and beater bars do damage :O

for the heavyweight it should be dominating but beatable and have different types of weapons, a VS/HS/Rammer hybrid should work well as long as it has weak points such as a bad wedge or no side defense etc.
you can PM me your possible house robots and i will check them out.

nah, people want to see lots of parts flying off it and it should have an equal amount of defense on all sides.. it also has to have controlled movement to avoid immobility

I'm also after some good DSL builders to help me with team robo zone (the house robots) What do you want from the house robots?
And I am interested in entering.
i need 2 beetleweights, a heavyweight and a well-defended box :P the other(s) isn't known yet. if you check out the videos from the first series you will get an idea about what i am after.. just DSL versions.
