Probably a popup/true popup hybrid (1 burst motor firing upwards like a flipper (aka true popup), the other like a normal popup) with 2 Beta spring loaded burst motors and LOTS of razors.

Maybe Etek-Techno Destructo drive also.

I was planning that to be a 1200-kg bot (like Redline said, DSL3 SHW official class).

You can bet people will comment on unrealistic bots Urjak.

But it's all about what the comments are...

I was thinking, can someone do what Click put on the table ? We still have spambots and visibly they can bypass the "insert numbers here" system.

Sawbots own when correctly designed - that is a good wedge, fast, a good weapon choice (e.g. a sawblade and a magmotor or a Backlash disc and a double magmotor) and a well armored weapon (unless the weapon is sufficiently tough (see Purple Pest)-

TriTon, Urjak is just being unsure about the actual efficiency of the flail thwacker - and so do I.

____________

That disc is way too high - that's not going to defend you against a wedge.

Also I bet that your bot must run quite low on energy after 2 minutes...

Discussion / Extenders on a HS?
« on: April 17, 2009, 06:40:06 AM »
If I were you i won't put them really high like Vortex CE. This is the easiest way to have a horribly vulnerable lower chassis and get raped by gut-rippers (jugglers, popups, even fast disc VS can have a chance). I favor undercutters (like click said, the ones with lower tribars) mainly because it's probably better against wedged bots also.

Yeah, long extenders improve your reach and your overall weapon tip speed, but lower your spinup time and more importantly makes your weapon heads vulnerable. Vortex CE often loses extenders first, rather than razors.

realism? REALISM? is a dam game. if u want realism then build a bot in real life but this is a game!!

DSL was actually made to be realistic. Or the closer to realism the game's engine can achieve.

And yes most DSL tournaments do have a realistic rule.

So either you build totally unrealistic, you get flamed and you'll suck at the next DSL tourney, or either you get realistic and a better bot builder.

i think your PA skirt is a little high. might be an issue for invertibility.

Also, most of the replicas aren't really dangerous. Fight something like 360 Arc Pounder, and the other decent AI DSL LW's (you can even take on the MW's if you feel confident).

Hopefully i don't have to fight Somebody's masterpiece of originality in the first round...

2 wins for me in the winner's bracket, then i'll get raped by AC.

Predictions:

Vela (These pole spikes are technically a good idea, but they don't protect much the extenders especially after some of them fall)
45-70 Magnum (gut-ripper VS rammer... ACAMS might lose all his razors on Dark July's irons, though)
T-800 Terminator (1 doubt about Ribbs getting under Starcore that easily, and with no defense, he'll get KOed quickly IMO)
grinnin face (The HS is poor and ugly as heck, but the poker multibot is the worst multibot i've ever seen)
Antichrist (Sheer number of weapons gives the victory)
Gut Ripper 2 (obviously)
SandStorm (More weapon hitpoints. Ian's my favorite but Shock Therapy COULD win)
No Hype 5 (Probably going to toss his opponent OOTA. Might be the most entertaining match of all the round)
Urjak's Multibot (The popup will help against a crappy rammer with high ground clearance)
The Baby Warrior (SFTW fight, but TBW has a wedge. Yawnfest alert)
Consonant/Vowel (because Wham's bot is too slow for getting efficiencly under S32's SnS)
Chernobyl (obviously a one-sided fight)
Mace in da face (Seism 13 hasn't enough weapons to do this)
Cardiac Arrest (We know what fast rammers can do against vertical spinners with weak weapons)
Three Kings (just because the other sucks at offense)
PitA 8 (if a decent popup can't win against a rammer...)
Big Flip's Revenge (multibot popup= kickass, just not on a HS)
the black plague (Because of the sheer number of weapons)
Vetearn Destroyer (exactly the same)
Crawl thorugh Knives (seeing how the "veteran"'s bot is horrible, has no wedges and stuff)
Triple Play (HS against VS. The VS isn't fast//powerful enough to throw Triple Play OOTA)

And what would you think (and do) if someone showcased, say, three bots called Crashman, Flashman and Gyroman ?

EDIT: @Reier: FW= featherweight = gay-named class from RW that Wham put from 175 to 200 kg.

Venko: You can't AI ??

________

What the heck is that skin rule ?

That's not because you can't import ("put on") a skin on your bot that you can't use already skinned bots !

Also i like the DSL blade arena.

A multibot can win... with good matchups and luck. However, if it falls twice on a decent HS or Cheap Win 3000, it's over.

Just wait till inf sees this...

Also 20kg black batts suck (just compare their stats in the txt's to the others)

You'd also be MUCH better with your 6 claws on the black 100cm DSL disc rather than all that messy and heavier setup, and a stronger motor (Perm 132 would be the minimum, or even a six mag gearbox).

I've seen much more generic for bot names.

Also Ribbs , a 30kg titanium sheet is better than 2 15kg halfsheets because it's stronger.

it will be a straight forward battle with 4 rumbles to start with all the entries fighting.

Also known as HS fest... oh well

I'm definitely in. Probably going to enter a SnS.

Venko i dont see any ramplates on your BBEANS entry.

Is your BBEANS entry a pure HS ?

I know that you can build that as a pure HS (i did with a different extender setup months ago)
