Dude you can have a realistic robot that still looks cool and is effective. Take a look at other showcases and get some ideas from them. Also just play around and fight robots that are in the same weightclass as yours and fight them in an arena without a pit or low walls. Challenge your self to fight the hardest bots. This will force you to redesign or die. Then you will get better as time goes on and once you get better it opens up a whole new world of possibility and fun with RA2.

Flip the NPC's the otherway around or flip the wheel guards infront of the motors because right now the 400hp motors are asking to be hit.

My team is currently ranked 13th going into day two if he Philly Regional Tomorrow after catching on fire once, having screwy code all day, and wining a 2 on 3 match.
To put it simple playing defense, having a good driver (me) and a killer mini bot can win matches.
Edit: man this post is incoherent and I can't think about how to fix it. :P

You might want to think this through more. It will be dominated by whoever finds the best loophole or whoever had the farthest reach on their VS.
Anyways this seems like the prefect tourney for Spinoff because it would be able to pluck out those 400 HP weapon motors. :P

Fastest KO against what? A unpowered cube with DSA in DSL, Emergency, or just a average time against a random assortment of bots?
As for where you stack up:
I've got a DSL HW Hammer that averages 4 seconds against Sheck Spinners, HNM 4.2 can OHKO in less than 3 seconds, and Sage can win before the match even starts :P.
If you are lookig for a fast KO I recommend a trappy hammer (Kinda like Squish) with fast drive.
