How do I fix the cage then?

2223
Hmm, would like to join if you could AI for me, since I have NO knowledge about AI'ing whatsoever.

Alright, the latest update on Mantis. Gave it lighter wheels, better weapons, and a full cage.

But there's a problem. The weapons intersect with the cage.

Do I just ignore this problem, or can I fix it for maximum IRL-ness?

I tried driving without any weapons and it's still not invertible.

Alright, got some work done. Updated Cricket. Gave him a row of teeth and added the slots for the wheels for more IRL-ness.

Not sure about Decal placing though, seems kinda off for me, but I guess it's okay.

Now time to go give Mantis an upgrade...

What you can do is like that bot you just posted, put a perm inside the chassis with the belt sticking out and build supports for the belt. But don't use Multi-extenders for the support, they're only invincible when directly attached to baseplate, you might as well use something stronger.

EDIT: And yes, having a 70kg motor just suspended on those few supports probably wouldn't happen IRL

I remembered Badnik96 telling me that multi extenders would be best. I had to use the E-Tek because it was lighter than the Perm so I could add more armor. And yeah, I'll go build the bottom supports right away

Not IRL enough?

But in all seriousness, there isn't a better motor to use.

I bet I'm one of two LW flippers that aren't using the Judge Burst (I have a Small JX in mine).

Dude, Mine also has a small JX.

It can't flip ANYTHING, so I told Massimo to AI it as a pusher

There goes my chances at winning the LW and HW division. My MW probably isn't going to do any better, but hey, I wasn't expecting to win anyways. I'd be happy as long as I win a round or two.

Don't worry bud, it's your first tourney. You'll improve over time. :)

Will do.

Updated Mantis. Gave it a weapon similar to Last Rites' (At this point you could just call it a smaller version of Last Rites) and a smaller chasis. Had to lower down batteries so that it had decent armor (1mm Titanium), replaced the perm with an E-Tek. And also added a cage-ish thing (How do you do it I still don't know) for it since it wasn't IRL enough.

Decided to give it a fight.

I fed him The Boxer.

Made short work of it.

I proceeded to give it more bots to feed on.

Later on I changed wheels and added an ant in there as well.

The game crashed after I faced Nightmare and took off his wheels, causing his disc to hit the ground and eventually having a Havok Nuke.

Made Cricket lower and upped his armor (3 mm Titanium or 5 mm plastic, forgot), also replaced the motors to fix the "too fast" problem. But he has a new issue. Bots just slide right over him instead of getting pushed around. Maybe I'll angle the razors a little differently...

i think you should make cricket invertible (min. chassis height) and add more armour. after all it's pretty much meant to take the hits. and mantis could do with some more aesthetics. both of them look alright though

It's already reached minimum Chassis height, will get to removing one or two ants and giving it thicker armor. And about Mantis, how can I improve?

Made a multibot. I think I put too many batteries into them. And also, didn't give them skins because...

I don't know how (n00b level has reached maximum capacity).

1.Cricket

The "Shield" half of the multibot team, Cricket's job is to get under opponents and pin them against the wall while it's partner, Mantis, chews into the opposition. It is decent in holding it's own against opponents, I think I made it a bit too fast though. It is basically doomed if it is flipped upside down unless another bot flips it back up. Armor is Titanium 1mm.

2.Mantis

The "Sword" half of the team, Mantis's job is to tear away at the opponent while Cricket holds it off. I put Hypno teeth on it so that it doesn't intersect with the chassis. The large N-12 wheels make it able to drive upside down so flippers won't be a problem as long as it's in a contained arena (Combat Arena, Battlebox etc.). Just like Cricket, armor is Titanium 1mm.

I haven't been able to see how they both do since I can't AI at all. (Every time I try, my game crashes unless I erase the new bindings and stuff)

How do I make an extender support?

The first one, the upper disc cuts trough the motor. Realism in any way shape or form is dead.

That was a prototype, eh, a little experiment if you will. So, I sent in a second version which was more IRl, I think I was too late though.

It's OK for a newbie, honestly I have seen far worse as first bots.

also you generally only need 1 or 2 ants per spin motor.

Thanks for the advice!

Add a multi-extender onto the center of the disc (the bottom side) so it can drive straight (relatively, single spinners are like that). Batteries are overkill (6 ant batts maximum), and you can add some motor protection with the weight you have freed.

 Why didn't I think of that?

Massimo recommended I do this so... Why not?

1. Equalizer

Innards:

Quite unhappy with this. The teeth fall off almost as soon as it touches another bot, it's nowhere close to the weight limit and for some reason when I try to drive it it only goes in circles. The disc is also too low to the ground so it keeps messing with the driving.

2.Equalizer (modified for BB6)

Innards:

The teeth don't fall off as easily as they did. It only has one disc because the previous version wasn't IRL enough, built it closer to the weight limit, for some reason it still doesn't stop spinning in circles instead of driving forwards. And also, the disc is still affecting the drive. Also considering making one with DSL bars instead of discs.

Thanks, you too!

Just dont be drawn against my MW bot, it would rip your bot to shreds

My MW and LW are nonsense. So I'd expect to lose to everybody really.

I might make it in HW if Massimo accepts my entry change.
