OK, when looking at the poll then the text just over it I misread "selected" for "retarded"

I'd let you guess the reason why...

I have to disagree on that. FBS's rotate the ENTIRE BODY excepted a set of wheels for drive.

Basically a SnS with translation capability. My DSL bot Singularity is a (failed) FBS

EDIT: 3.666th post. :icon_twisted:

Why the heck are you showcasing a bot if you know it is bad?

IMO you'd be better with a multibot popup. Two 600kg flippers are too unreliable to get a SHW OOTA.

Plus 3 burst motors aren't going to help you if they don't have even the third of amp input they need. (Very underpowered)

And for the wheels there are Vladiator's that would fit well. I would recommend Hypno's, but they will be a bitch to place outside of the chassis because of very low ground clearance.

Nice triple post.

For a beginner, try to replicate some bots showcased in this forum. After some attempts you'll eventually develop your own style. :D

@LRA2:
-Yes sledges suck in stock, excepted maybe for throwing opponents OOTA on VS (Mjorhmei or whatever it is called), but not worthy in general.
-DSA armor is better for your bots (In Stock ONLY).
-For saving weight make a tight chassis, that fits your components. That works also in IRL bot building.
-One iron spike is not enough for a hammer
-No need to build a weapon at the front and another at the back. Keep all your weapons installed at the front, excepted for sit and spinners but this is NOT a sit and spinner. And horizontal spinners don't work with hammers.
-Also please work more on your paintjobs and your robot names...

No popularity contest please... I suggest we just post our personal Top10's here (Or send it in secret via PM to Sage), and he will process everything and display the results here.

Good you are designing your chassis around your components, not throwing a bunch of stuff in a huge ass chassis like most newbies...

Anyways:

-Your HS is probably the most underpowered DSL bot i've ever seen. At least 2 battlepacks and 2 ants for that. And DSL bars with hammers are probably the best weapon on HS.

-Your VS is HIGHLY overpowered. 7-8 ants would be enough. Also try to avoid weapons with normals (as axes and pole spikes since they only do damage in one direction) in DSL.

-Your popup is underpowered, and all decent or good LW popups use only 1 burst motor as weapon both in stock and DSL.

And i think that all of Doomkiller's advice in this showcase is good.

Not badly built.

That bot is slow for a RPB-ish FS, and i'm pretty sure you'd be better with less stronger/more powerful discs (say 2 or 4) rather than a gazillion of tiny discs.

Slight bump.

Electric Scimitar 2 - name is a tribute to Korium9's vertical spinners - DSA, and you can see everything else.

Yes the HPZ is kinda exposed but i couldn't resist to make this a fast'n'wedgy bot.

I'm surprised nobody told him to use DSA. (it's on the beetlebros techniques site if you want to know what it is)

Also axes don't work well on popups, use double razors or maybe irons.

I think you'd be better with just 2 baseplate anchors and T connectors.

And you surf on the internets at 8 years old ?

You download it. You extract it. in any EMPTY folder. You play it.

That is all.

3 things.

- You have a link in my signature labeled "DSL uncorrupted version". And there you can download DSL.
- You have another link in my signature for DSL basic tips (that is the RA2 wiki).
-And finally, please have a look at the DSL showcases, there you will have examples of good bots (mostly) as well as hints and tips to good DSL building.
