"While I am indefinitely banned, there is a precedent going as far as GTMCS2 of allowing me to enter tournaments anyways. While you can debate whether or not this is fair (On one hand, it means more entries and doesn't really hurt anyone because they can't post, but on the other hand if you're banned you shouldn't be allowed to be involved with the community like this), and I can see why you'd be against it and against me returning (I fully appreciate why people don't want me back and don't have any hard feelings regarding that, only hope they give me this last chance). That said, if both Bildschrim and Superbot send robots, I am perfectly willing to fight for my spot in a Best of 3 qualifier round (or Best of 1, depending on what time Gulden is willing to spend).
I've seen bildschrim's work and it'd be pretty sad if he got cut off and we instead of witnessing a beautiful robot saw "Anti Gravity Evo 5 Mk. VI 3.8.1 Electric Boogaloo **** Paladin Edition" consume feces and die in the second round.
And, if Superbot got cut off, while I do take some offense as to his comment about replacing me, there's the fact that we almost all start as noobish, young members, so his early transgressions shouldn't be held against him (especially by me, considering i've been indefinitely banned/permabanned [depending on your personal terminology] twice) too much. Also, the best way to learn outside of showcasing is to fight other members in tournaments and see how their designs are effective/aren't effective compared to yours.
Tdldr of these guys ends up not making the cut due to entrant limits, or anyone else, I'm perfectly happy doing a qualifier to see who gets the last slot for the reasons of:
A: "this guy's been banned from the forums twice, him entering despite this is somewhat bullsh**"
B: "do we REALLY want a Avalanche bot instead of a Bildschrim bot"
C: "SUPERBOT V LRA2, SUPERBOT V LRA2, EVERYBODY WANTS TO SEE THIS HAPPEN, AND RA2WINNER IS IN THE CALL!"
SUPERBOT VS LRA2 SUPERBOT VS LRA2 EVERYBODY WANTS TO SEE THIS HAPPEN AND RA2WINNER IS IN THE CALL! I can’t get enough of this. Edit: sorry double post.

Personally, I don't mind what the end result is going to be, since I'm unlikely to enter. It still doesn't mean that I cannot share ideas. I have few such as crawlers, sport themed bots or a more heavy challenge based bot of the month like everyone has to build a bot from a pre-made chassis.
I was thinking that last one for a tournament idea!

Well, that was a great way to end a tournament. At least I could say that I won a rumble despite Ice Maker not really doing much in taking out it's opponents. So, thank very much for hosting Phillipa.
I can say I win a tag team though I was stomped.

To everyone who has given feedback, thank you! We are frantically trying to put everything together for an Alpha release.
We have been talking to lots of real-life roboteers to get permission to use their robots in our game. We have some bad news and some good news on this front.
The Bad:
Display rights to all of the Robot Wars robots are owned by the BBC. Both they and Battlebots are rightfully protective of their intellectual property. This means that we do not have permission to use Carbide, Eruption, or Original Sin in our commercial release. All three robots will be removed from the game.
The Good:
Many of the roboteers themselves are really excited to share their unlicensed designs. We have permission from several of the teams to use their other designs from the live circuit. We should be able to get a few of these designs into the next few builds.
Cool, will it be steam?
Yup - Steam will be our primary distribution platform. We are working on putting together everything we need for the Steam page right now, but we won't publish the Steam page until we have a complete BotLab where you can build robots and put them into game.
Make it $9.99 early access (trust me, do not say $10.00 it looks expensive while $9.99 looks cheap) to bribe them into buying, note that you should change the price to $19.99 when 1.0 is released.
