@powerrave
For some reason, I was still holding the space button. But it was kinda like trying to thundershock Onix, or reasoning with a female: No effect whatsoever but worth the try. EDIT: @Pwnator Nah, it's not controlled.. I tried rigging the controls to be able to semi-walk to immobile opponents, but no success. It's probably possible when you got a sh**load of time and patience on your hands, but not for me. 225
Stock Showcases / Re: Rolo's Robot Showcase« on: February 13, 2010, 09:36:07 AM »![]() HOT DAMN IT Also, new bot, probably been done before, but never seen it. Thought of it when I went fuuuu because I couldn't manage to stack black batteries within 2 minutes once again, a powerless bot! It's called Mutant: ![]() Forgot to arm 1 of the top 4 servo's at all, that's why it magically remains within weight restriction, might make an SHW verson of it with heckuvalotmore servo's and probably iron spikes It actually does a lot better in combat than I expected (just not in tournament low wall arena's because it just walks over the walls when given the slightest push([small]actually I just tried this when I didn't rig the controls to be able to spin both ways, might try it again sometime)[/small]). One of the few robots that actually likes being on top and getting smacked into arena walls, because it helps getting on top of the opponent and start chewing its upside ![]() My tactic of waiting for AI to run into it and commit suicide stops working when the opponent gets partially immobile, so this was kind of a boring match, waiting for the timer to run out and win by points. It is far from invincible though: ![]() ![]() Can't find Mutant? It's on that pic! Took tommy gun some time to finish me off though, most of the times he approached me after some servo's got kicked off, either one of us started flinging around at will due to a Havok explosion. It's a real pain in the ass to control though. I sometimes have to switch between holding space and holding z when one of its noodly appendages get stuck or when I'm flipped over. 226

Is there an explanation somewhere on why the bots were refused?

WANT
Yea, the bot was first tested without that plow (even more underweight yep) but I found that when I got under a good-wedged bot like Waterbug, it would sometimes throw it over its top before killing the chassis, giving NW time to turn and give me another hard time getting under it (Because I suck at wedges). 230

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you guys. I'm not a stacking batteries person.
Why, I hear you ask? Because it takes patience. EDIT: That gives me an idea. How about making a pre-stacked battery component? Just a regular Supervolt, but with double power and double weight? Or has it been thought of and done in my abcense? 232

Been years before I built a bot, so yea, I probably missed out on years of innovation.
Please leave a comment. ![]() Any ideas on what to do with the remaining weight? 233

Chatterbox / Re: RA1« on: February 09, 2010, 02:16:48 PM »
Some RA2 free trial was featured on the KaZaA homepage yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago, I tried it, didn't manage to build a working bot but had some fun playing tabletop games with Forkie anyways, then downloaded Robot Arena 1. Then, after months, I discovered RA2 was still installed and started reading the tutorials, which only got me to a point of: WANT!
So I ordered it on BOL.com (the Dutch Amazon) and from that very moment, hell broke loose.. I do remember though, on RA1, I used a bot with the extra light chassis, using just wheels and one of those saw blades that came down, to make it helluvafast and drive around opponents to kill them with ease. 236
