bmup.
I wanna think those are less wheelguards and more protection from hs but ehhh
Correct. Those are more to protect the weapon motors than the wheels.

But all that is about to become irrelevant, because I have a new bot I threw together in half an hour.

Armor is DSA.
This is the Iron Sprinter because... it is fast and it has irons--eight of them to be precise.

ADVANTAGES:

+Fast
+Invertible
+Has irons
+Has ramplates for armor on the sides that were initially supposed to only protect the extenders but ended up doubling as wheelguards.
+Not a PHB.

DISADVANTAGES
-Fairly unarmored other than the ramplates for armor on the sides that were initially supposed to only protect the extenders but ended up doubling as wheelguards.

Thoughts?

Washingtonians like myself have much larger issues than limiting human rights based on something that is impossible to control. These include computers, airplanes, and the Cascadia subduction zone.

I'm guessing due to the chassis size it's meant to be irl, in that case flamethrowers would be completely counter intuitive irl as the airflow generated by the shell spinning would just make the bot flame itself rather than the opponent.
False; I don't really build IRL, though I think that this could become IRL with some minor changes. I intend to keep it DSL-S, however.

ripping teeth are bad on spinners
Okay, so I did this:

Armor is now Titanium 3... WITH FIRE!

Re-forged in homage to Prince Naryar, it is stronger and (slightly) faster than before. Much like Naryar, it breathes fire at its enemies. If that doesn't somehow work, it beats the crap out of them with sixteen large Typhoon2 teeth. Actually, that's only one of two things I changed about it. The other is the Titanium 3 armor. It is 10:31pm and I have nothing more to say.

O mighty Naryar, have I appeased thee? If not, what more must I do to improve thyself as one who forges robots from random scrap parts?

How much does it weigh and what is its armor? Always post this information so we can see what you are trying to build.

In place of the piglets, use two left/right NPC-T64's (regular or fast, your choice) with hypnodisc wheels. This is generally accepted as the most ideal drive setup for fast middleweights (249-399kg) or some heavyweights (601-800kg) that don't need to be fast. You only need two 10-amp ant batteries for these motors since all spin motors only draw ten amps.

What size of JX is that? the two different sizes of JX bursts operate differently depending on the size; The larger ones are bulkier but stronger, whereas the small ones are more compact but weaker. Generally, the large JX's are recommended for cruiserweights (400-600kg) and up.

I personally think that hammers are cool, but not many people build them anymore. Perhaps, with practice, you could perfect the art of the hammer, and then the art of the robot in general.

Good news: I survived Yakima. Good-er news: I have a new bot:

Armor is Aluminum 3.

This is Vortician, a SHW shell spinner that I built a while back. I didn't remove the shell because it isn't a solid shell, and can be seen through. If you have questions in regards to the innards, they are: a small control board, two WP836E's, four medium Puma tanks, two TWM3R2 Drives with Hypnos, and a dual perm. Its setup is completely symmetrical, and has sixteen ripping teeth in total. There are steel armor plates there because the game would not allow me to have ripping teeth if all of the steel armor plates were regular shell plates.

Vortician has four flamethrowers inside the shell to help deal extra damage to the opponent's chassis while spinning. All I need to do now is figure out how to AI it so that it spams fire when the opponent is in range.

The flame idea was inspired by Deflagration, a Super Heavyweight SnS built by Naryar that won Bot of the Month for April 2009.

ADVANTAGES:
+Powerful
+Fast
+Fire

DISADVANTAGES:
-Meh at self-righting

Thoughts?

Nice bot. Although there are things that need improvement. First off, turn the Z-Teks 180 degrees. The discs will help to block attacks on them. Also, angle extenders aren't very good since they are heavy and don't have that much HP. Your only option is to find a way to spare 40-50kg for either plows or ramplates, since any good or long-reaching HS has the potential to rip the exposed extenders right off.

Just remove the outer two razors and make the beaters medium. Even if they intersect the plow, it will still be realistic since part of the plow can be cut away to accommodate the beaters. The bot will weigh exactly 799.7kg. Just make sure that the bars don't intersect each other or the razors; either of those will make it unrealistic.

Good job, thy showcase. I commanded thee to re-exist, and re-exist thou did. Anyways, W.R.A.T.H. has been updated. He is ready...

Armor is still DSA.

I stacked the blacks, gave it a DDT wedge, and gave it shiny wheels. Also, KOS_Flow is cool.

ADVANTAGES:
+Ravenous
+Wedge is good
+Lasts more than five seconds

DISADVANTAGES:
-Poor handling and speed
-Not invertible

Thoughts?

I COMMAND THY SHOWCASE TO RE-EXIST!

Armor is DSA.

This is the Wide Ravenous Attack That Hurts, otherwise known as W.R.A.T.H. It uses servos to get all of the weapon Z-Teks on extenders as shown. I figured out that if you slightly angle the extenders slightly higher than intended, the Z-teks will weigh it down and get the extenders in the desired position. The square extenders are of the 140cm kind. It also has grannies to make it invertible-ish.

ADVANTAGES:

+Highly destructive
+Fairly wedgirific
+Strikes fear into its opponents

DISADVANTAGES:
-Abysmal battery life
-Kinda slow, especially when the battery runs low.

Thoughts?

One quick thing, don't use piglets for drive, they're not intended for that (unless DSL3 changed that, which I don't think it did).
DSL3 did not change that. Use Astroflights with Hypnos on Little Warrior, since Piglets were not intended to be drive motors and Hypnos are superior to Buster wheels, although Buster wheels aren't bad if there is no weight left. For whatever reason, drive power in RA2 is only affected by torque. Since astroflights have higher torque than piglets for less weight, they make better drive motors.

Also, what is the armor for each bot? Always post the armor so we know what you could have to work with.

I like the idea, but it wouldn't fare well in the arena against a better bot. The biggest problem is that it is underpowered. Sure, there are enough batteries, but in DSL3, four WP836E are more favorable than ten ants, since WP836E have a higher electoral/mass ratio (electoral=battery life). Even then, you would want a stronger burst motor (use the next strongest VDMA R/P) and more batteries (use WP836E's or PC545's) and stronger armor. This is if you want to make it a heavyweight, but if you want to make it a middleweight, replace the ten ants with four WP836E's and reduce the size of the weapon. If possible, use a blue control board, lower the drive, and/or reduce the armor. Middleweights must weigh less than 399kg, so you have to figure out a way to shave off 119kg. But in any case, replace the ants with four WP836E.

...polycarbonate, aluminium, titanium (which the skirt is) and steel skirts...
However, I don't believe there are aluminum skirts, as I believe Click stated alu skirts would be too weak.
Correct, there are no aluminum skirts.

As for the bot  itself, replace the Vlad wheels with hypnos. Hypnos are lighter, grippier, and fit on NPC-T64s. You don't need Vlads since they are already well-protected, and it wouldn't be likely that they Hypnos would get hit by anything. You could potentially use the saved weight for stronger armor.

A Z-Tek? That is a Stock component, and Stock components aren't usually allowed in DSL building. Also, there are far better drive motors than Z-Teks, such as NPC-T64s. It has good component armor, and I like how you built to the weight limit, but I wonder what the chassis armor is. Also, the wedge could be improved. Only use one skirt in the middle, and make it Titanium; for whatever reason, skirt wedges are far superior when there is only one skirt on the middle hinge.

Always post pictures of the bot's insides, as that gives us information on the bot. We can use this information to help you improve the bot. You aren't bad for a newbie, and I really like the skin this bot has.

Nice walkers, m8. Is there any possibility to show a video of them? I'm interested in their walking capabilities.
Sorry dude, but i have no video capturing software, or YouTube account. :(
HOWEVER, I will gladly send it to bot exchange so you could see for yourself, if you want.
Ask Mr. AwesumSauce or Helloface199 for Fraps, or just use the free trial version of Bandicam, although there will be a watermark.

Also, what armor do these bots use? Always post the armor. Generally, the Titanium and plastic armors are the best, but Steel 5 is also pretty good. When you make showcase posts, post as much information about the bot as possible, such as armor, type of NPC-T64 drive motor, etc.
