Is Rule of 7 break allowed?
Or maybe CF?
-No bot building/editing outside of the botlab
This doesn't 100% ensure the ban of either of these.
CF is almost always illegal in competitive metas, and outside editing has never been ensured, it's always been up to the host to know what is and isn't legal.

ehhhhhhh ill say cf is allowed as long as no intersecting/havoks

EDIT: time to poll

EDIT2: no cf then

Ever considered selling the site to one of the members?

I have considered GIVING it to one of the members ..... WHO do you have in mind?

Mr. AS and Apanx seem like good candidates. I genuinely believe Mr. AS can run this site and has the interests to do so

Tournament Archives / I Fought The Law - SIGNUPS CLOSED
« on: March 08, 2017, 07:32:29 AM »

i have the absolute best tourney record so lets do this

Building Rules:
-DSL 2.2 Standard
-Heavyweight
-DSC's IRL color extender pack is allowed
-No Cheatbot2
-No bot building/editing outside of the botlab
-Mechavore and Minion discs are banned.
-RA2CF is not allowed
-Rule of 7 break is allowed
-Multibots are allowed so long as their combined weight is not more than 800KG
-Bots must have a capable drive (minimum 2 motors, 2 wheels), placement doesnt matter, as long as they are included in the bot
-Treaded bots will receive a 150KG cushion
-Smart zones do not count towards your weight
-Flamethrowers are allowed if you really want em

Scoring:
-Your score will be the amount of time you can survive against the two AI'd SHW's in a 3 minute match.
-IF you eliminate one of the SHW's (KO/Immobilization/OOTA), your score will be [the time left in the match when you knocked out the SHW]+[Overall time of survival] I.E. Your bot survived 2:20, but at 1:10 your bot eliminated one of the SHW's, your score would then be (3:00-1:10)+2:20=4:10
-If you eliminate both SHW's, your score will be calculated using the same formula mentioned above for each respective bot+remaining time
-Bot with the longest time wins.

Match Rules:
-Ring Arena will be used
-If a havok occurs for the first two times, the match will be restarted. On the third time that a bot havoks, It will be disqualified.
-Due to the unique nature of The SHW VS' chassis, it may sometimes fall out of the arena but not be counted as eliminated, so I will base the score on the moment one of it's intact components touches the arena floor

Submitting Rules:
-You are allowed to update as much as you'd like until signups close
-I can AI for you, but you will not get to complain if I "ai'd it wrong" unless it's a critical error (Invertible bot not moving while it's upside down, bot not using its srimech)
-I reserve the right to reject any bot that I find unacceptable. But tbqh as long as it doesnt crash the game or break any rules above it should be fine
-One entry per person, But I may make it two if I do not receive enough entries
-16 entries

The Bots:

if there are any missing rules or questions just shoot

Entrants:
1. Dark-Al
2. Thrackerzod
3. Badger
4. Guldenflame
5. Thyrus
6. Neon Calypso
7. TGM

Rejected
Received
ready to kick this match into gear

i'm not entirely sure that flipper arc is realistic

it's also super rudimentary but i dont usually build extender frames so i can't really help with that
Yeah, I'm entirely sure how IRL that flipper setup is.

Lmao yea i know. shame tho because it works pretty well as a 4 bar flipper

digging the first two

third is clean but i cant help but feel the chassis wedge could use something

Mohawk looks good. maybe line the end of its 'hawk with angle extenders?

first "extender bot" attempt

4 bursts new meta

extender work is kinda messy, tried tacking something onto the sides/wheels but it ended up looking boxy as heck

(Image removed from quote.)
Probably the second entry on Masters on Disater, Ti 5, designed to get some sweet OOTA's.

pro tip: mount your burst motors higher up for more leverage and flipping power

pro tip have two 120 cm extenders stick out your bot and mount the burst on them for maximum leverage

jk its sound advice

personally id consider upgrading to steel or titanium sheets, cause if they get knocked off you've essentially lost a burst motor

Thoughts
AIPB & LA AT: lmao little drone bot. lets see if it works
Sealion Hammersmith: a side hammer/hammer hybrid? if it's wedges are worth anything, it should do pretty good
SWHH: Neglected Waterbug lmao
HONDA CIVIC: better knock it out before the VTEC kicks in
Caroobon Ice: solid Popup. should fare well against most of the competition
Brachiosore: not much to say. another solid hammer that might go far
ILMGTTG & RB2: equalweight popups? wonder how it'll do
REESE'S PUFFS: hs popup hybrid?
Geicesha: pack it in boys we know whos winnin
Chainmail with 16 Swords: unsure how well samurai swords are on a rammer and if the rear spinning disc will come into play that often
#MENTALLYHILL: exposed motors might be a problem against hs' but looks like a capable machine
i hate kids: lmao
L-E-Mon-Aid: im hoping for its sake that its a popup and i just cant see the razors

I like the weapon setup. First time ive seen it

I would make the armor panel on the front bigger and given it the corner wedges and front wedge pieces

Or taz wedges. Might fit the sloping chassis

yea youre better off using beaters or matilda teeth. But i do recall someone making a really unique drum setup using a hexplate and dsl bars. Pretty much useless of course, but looked cool as heck

So far so good. All thats lrft now is fot the other side to have supoorts too

While I like both of the robots, I think both could be greatly improved.

For instance, the first's chassis is way too big. And an astro shouldn't really be powering anything other than a LW but this looks like a MW.

The second is good but could easily be invertible. Pop a couple of casters on either side of the disc and move the drive motor up.

What are the weights of these robots, too?
The first one is a LW though, but the problem with this thing is speed
and also the second one, it can't be invertible since the chassis is way to high and If I lower the chassis the Weapon motor will clip off the chassis.

move the wheels outside and move up to tornados. if it's still not invertible, you may have to move up to n12's. get rid of the hypno teeth and get typhoon teeth in its place or make do with just two on each disc. alternatively lower the chassis and place the weapon motor there with RA2CF (assuming you have it)

or u could yolo and get Pussycat style drive with 4 wheels

the lw is generally pretty clean but some static wedges (some beater wedges, angle extenders or even taz wedges) flanking the flipping arm and some supports for it would complete the look imo
