DP.
I'd like to take this opportunity to officially announce my retirement from building in it's entirety for the foreseeable future. Stuff IRL has just been taking over everything recently and ideas have been either impossible in ra2 or non existent. I'll still be around posting elsewhere but I won't be building for a good while now. I had a good time building while it lasted but I've got nothing to give anymore.

pfft I have 4x that on CSGO in the past year alone, 250 days isn't much over 4 years.

4x 250 days in the last year. 1000 days in the last 365 days, I'm glad you found some flaws in your calculations :P
And even if he meant he's played 4 times what jonzu spends on gtm every year then he's still played 250 days of CS  and that is physically impossible since only 240 days have passed this year.

Looks okay, nothing really to improve on since there's not much design variation on shell spinners.

by everyones logic, angle grinders rule

because sparks
Essentially, yes from a crowds point of view!

We're always trying to encourage variety, but when people are spending thousands on robots they're almost always going to build the most competitive design, and you can't really blame them for that.

As regards to our team, we have our two competitive robots, Explosion and Eruption. We have now contemplating building a few other robots of a different design. This year already saw the introduction of Combustion at the GSL (FW spinner), which didn't go so well so is currently being rebuilt. We are then looking to build a FW axe, and then do what we did with Explosion and scale it up to a heavyweight.
Speaking of axes do you have any idea on where Grant is on building the brushless axe he posted on the fra? It sounds to be something to be reckoned with.

One word: Insurance.
This. The cost to insure it would be ridiculous as would the cost to upgrade and transport the arena.

Not bad, I like it. You should make the chassis higher though so the supports look like they just go into the chassis rather than poking out of the top.

They are allowed as the weight and size limit aren't enforced at RR events so anything of reasonable size and weight are allowed.

<3 that design. Is there any way to make the brackets an A shape though as it would make them look considerably more sturdy.

The MW would look better as a shorter, wider design IMO, some cutting teeth would also look better than the doublesided ones.

Dear Kossokei,

I'm writing to you in regards to our old love. Ever since I left you and ran off with Ducky I have been completely wrought with guilt. Many nights I laid awake, fretting about you and wondering how you were. I tried to forget about it and get on with my life without feeling ashamed of my decision, but I still can't help but feel bad. And so it plagued me to write to you, hoping for forgiveness and to be taken back by you. If you don't feel that way about me anymore it's understandable.

I still love you. Will you be my Kossy again?

Love, Kurt Wylde.

Dear Kurt Wylde,

See me in the bedroom at a quarter to 11 for my answer  ;)

With the VS the perm needs some protection.

The Dutch turn up with Gravity and tomahawk at events occasionally. so I'm guessing they'll be going since I haven't seen the signups.

Drill motor drive is always a good starting point but if you want to spend a bit more money get some gimson GR02's, botbitz85's have been proven to be good esc's for the price and be able to stand up to most things thrown at them, I can't vouch for the charger ribbs suggested but I have an Imax B6 to charge the lipo in minor tom but it can also do nihms, battery wise 12v will run the drills fine but if you want a but more punch to your motors you can go 18v which does make them run faster but increase the likelihood of stripping gears. HDPE is a good material to work with, it's easy to work, relatively cheap and quite tough if you get it thick enough. If you plan on going to the champs though wear resistant steel like hardox is the armour of choice there because of the spinners.

I can't make it to this one, would love to get some time in the arena with Minor Tom but it's just too far away.

Nope, I just finished my DT systems and control gcse
