That's a heavyweight in the game anyway. If you've come from a realistic robotics background, the physics in RA2 is hideously counter-intuitive. But once you understand it, you can make some pretty cool designs. Personally, I've never been too bothered about battery power, but I always make a point of overpowering my bots slightly to make them last, like Valid Query 2 did. Although the internals of some IRL bots are forced to be unrealistic by vitrue of the game mechanics, i.e. Ring Spinners, and the newer motor-on-top designs like Frequency and the one MikeNCR made.

It's a little bit better. Not too much has changed, though, but people seem to have calmed down slightly. Jonzu's apparently done the same thing again, Scourge is kind of alright, and Hydro's posting a little more sporadically at the moment.
But don't worry about Reputation, it's pretty irrelevant. Just enjoy your time here, that's all.

Anyone's allowed to join, regardless of experience. Everyone has a first tourney. =) Just make sure your bot fits all the rules, upload it to the Bot Exchange (or the File Host in a .zip or .rar file), and PM a link to the tournament host.

First off, which OS are you using? That might make some difference on what to install or reinstall. But if you go to Control Panel -> Sound, then select Properties, Controller Information -> Properties, and select the Driver tab, you should be able to see what you have as a driver. After that, you could Google it and see if you can download it again.

Something that's just popped into my head, how about a skinned 40cm skirt to act as the blade? It'd be slim enough to look right, and would be roughly the right size, I think.

Looks nice. Could do with being a little bit wider, I reckon. That tyre cutting blade was pretty useless, though, was it not?

It does in the UK under the name "ASDA". What it stands for, I've got no idea.

The one I remember is from TOCA 2 Touring Cars (PsOne). You put your driver name as "JUSTFEET", and Tiff Needell would say "Cheat Mode: Enabled". Then when you started racing, all the cars were invisible except for the tyres. I used to watch the replay as I streaked off into the lead and pretend it was a tyre advert. I was bored even then.

Are you doing any of the trials? In which case, I'd quite like to see how you'd do either Pinball or Soccer.

Excellent looking flipper. It's annoying when you get reps that have polycarbonate panels on them, because you can't really skin the insides on without it looking wierd from some angles. But the flipper is very nice, great job there.

Oh look another splash of the month contest.
Next BOTM, everyone should just make the splash solid white, Arial size 10 font, and just list all the specs and leave it at that. Lets see how far the BOTM goes.
This ALWAYS gets brought up, the idea of a standardised splash that everyone has to use. And people just never go for it, as MNB said, it's going to go on the front page, so it should probably have a bit of eye candy to it. And if we do have a standardised splash with some eye candy in it, that instantly eliminates the people who only have MS Paint, or something like that. It's a double-edged sword, it just isn't a viable option, in my opinion.

Very nice indeed. I think he mentioned powering them, though, and they would slowly abrase against each other and eventually fall apart.

When the RAD spins on an axle, the axle rotates in the opposite direction to the way the RAD is spinning, in accordance with Newton's second law. Unfortunately, with it being on a free-standing axle, it has no - or extremely low - torque, so it'll be stopped by pretty much anything.

All right, the England/Wales Rugby game is starting. If we lose, I'm going to eat GK alive.

Your too late, I beat you too it
So you ate him?
That's one way of putting it. =P
Well, saves me a job at least. And it protects the sheep XD

That's the thing I keep seeing advertised on BBC America when I watch TopGear, right?
Probably. Do you get any of the Quizcom Panel Shows the BBC makes on BBC America?
Probably. I keep seeing commercials for one "Graham Norton Show" if that's what you're referring to.
No, that's just a chat show. Quizcoms are things like QI, Never Mind The Buzzcockz, Mock The Week, and so forth. Basically two teams and a host, where the comedy is more important than the score. Hence why QI's contestants have a habit of dipping into minus points.
