People that successfully complete tourneys should be remembered and kept on a list. If they have proved their worth, they should be able to do future tournaments.
New members that announce tournaments really should be given 4 random bots that they need to AI, film, and post successfully as a test. If they fail at that stage, it should save us all a bunch of time.
It's a gamble... I remember when we doubted members like Badnik and Jonzu... both of them came through and put out decent tournaments. They also learned a bit during the process. This is why I am focusing on entering their tournaments as they announce them. Because I trust them.
It really is too bad when tournaments fail though... it wastes everyone's valuable bot-building time.

I have a large vocabulary?
Yes. & G.K. you deserve your award. You are quickly becoming the Tournament Paramedic.

Welcome back sir! What has happened in 2 years? Wow... it is kind hard to list stuff. But once you check out showcases and see what the bots look like during tournaments, you will witness the innovations first hand.
I'm sure you will catch up just fine. :D

Is a RAD drive Rammer kinda slow? How does it fare in battle?
RAD? umm JD, this is DSL.
LOL JD, sorry. XD Anyway, that doesn't look invertible. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Damn I am tired. Pardon my ignorance... I am going to go sit in the corner now. :P

Main Splash sent to SSG for approval. Might need to make basic adjustments... but it is coming very soon. Gonna start working on the brackets now.

Maybe the next BOTM will be stock HW RS. Then you can just rewire the thing and submit it. :P
Edit: oh yeah... you would have to change the nose heading too. :P

If you complete this tournament you will gain so much respect. So, far you seem to be very focused and ready to tackle the challenge of completing this.
Good luck to all the entrants and the host. May the best bots rise above the rest.

anyone notice number 4's weight ?
Well I didn't but OMG
Its a typo dude. I loosely added up all the components and such for that design and it is within the weight limit. #6 is a work of art. It deserves to be a centerfold in Robotics Monthly Magazine. and I think Sage made it :3

May I submit my Steel Reign replica that I built for Zog's tourney? I wouldn't mind seeing that bot compete if Zog does not mind me using it in other tournaments.

How do I send my bot? Just PM?
Zip it and upload it using the GTM file uploader on the main page. That will generate a link. Send that link to the host and you are all good man. :D

What if they left that nation because they have nothing but contempt for it? Say I'm a refugee from North Korea. Why in the hell would I even compete in the Olympics if I had to represent a nation I loathe?
Valid points. But, a refugee would loathe North Korea because of its corrupt government and policies. Even more the reason to represent the country, to be a hero for the common people and give the children something to look up to. If a person flees North Korea and wins a gold medal for the U.S. all they are inspiring North Korean Children to do is run from their country if they want to follow their dreams. If that person would be a hero in their native land, they would inspire something much greater.

If they're US citizens, which they are, why does it matter where they're born? They chose to represent the US.
I guess the part that bothers me is the circumstances that lead them to representing the U.S. Whereas, their native country could probably benefit greatly from the exposure and morale boost that comes with having a medalist in the olympics. There were several competitors that grew up in their native countries, but when they showed promise in their respective sports they moved to the US and became citizens in the US to benefit from the more advanced facilities and resources... therefore becoming better because they had better resources, not because they were more talented then somebody else. I think it sucks that their native country does not get the exposure and rewards because those sorts of things can increase revenue and participation for their olympic programs. Making them stronger and more competitive. It wouldn't surprise me if some countries (US included) recruit possible team members from other countries and progress them through the ropes of citizenship just to win. To me, that is not in the spirit of true Olympics. Your thoughts?

Go Nordiques! :P
After watching a bunch of the Olympics i have two things to say:
1. I will always make a point to watch womens snowboarding competitions from now on. Rwar!
2. Country representation just seems waaay out of whack. I don't think that USA should get credit for some of the medals they got. Why? because half of the time, the commentators would mention how representatives of the country were originally born elsewhere in the world and moved to the USA. Doesn't that just seem a bit unfair. Sure, the USA has a lot of resources and a person's chances of succeeding in Olympics stand greater when they are backed by the programs that the USA has to offer... but it just doesn't seem genuine to me. I have more respect for underdog countries that succeed in the olympics with their own resources, no matter how limited they may be. Case in point: Jamaican Bobsled team. RESPECT!

That first one is a beast! Nice first bots for your showcase. You have a ton of potential with some guidance.
I agree with Sage. Bot 3 should have the chassis remade... it could be constructed a bit more efficient. It is a great attempt though.
