An interesting draw. I'm pretty confident my team's wedges will defeat Craaig's team's ones. But we'll have to see.

I lol'd at GK's part. And how does Scrap's bot even move? Linxus, though, looks like the surprise of my team. I'm very much liking how it turned out, but then it was a fairly simple stage, and it kept our doors open. Good work to you. =) I also believe madman3 owes me half a spleen.
Something else I've noticed, however, wouldn't Naryar have had to remove components (i.e., the skirts) to add on the beaters & teeth? Or were you allowed to do that if you put the same components back on? 2084

What an imbecile. If you're going to drink mystery liquids from a nondescript jar, then you deserve exactly what's coming to you. At least he won't get lung cancer if he's dead.

Besides, with the low weight constraints of the Beetleweight class, a lot of the robots are going to be very similar. If you go for a higher weight class, such as Middleweight and Heavyweight, you can add a wider variety of components, and hence achieve a wider variety of robot designs could be submitted. 2087

Not as much HS as I thought, only six of them. Couple of popups, couple of VS, a rammer and a drum. Should be more interesting than we thought.

Schweet. =D Sounds like there's plenty of 36HS in this, I'll be interesting to see how many of them look similar. Should be pretty competitive.

I think it may have been the splash that let it down, personally. Splashes like that are somewhat distracting from the actual bot itself.
Also yay, I'm back on top. ![]() 2090

No, on a normal Skirt Hinge. You have a Start and End position, but it will rotate freely between the two positions. Similar to an Axle Mount, but not as bulky.

It's better with Irons and no Skirt Hinges. Opponents aren't going to get to the skirts anyway. I think the shape is really good, personally. I think a spike weapon that extended one end and retracted the other, similar to the Terrorhurtz axe might work quite well for this bot.

I'm not wanting to reveal what my bot was for two reasons:
1) It spoils the surprise of the splash 2) Craaig is still building his bot, to the best of my knowledge. 2093
DSL TC Showcases / Re: SKBT's showcase« on: February 29, 2012, 12:26:52 PM »I was thinking just have a Movement range, with the start and end points touching the ground when it was either way up. That's what I did for Halitosis, it's much easier than having a complicated button wiring thing.I see. I'd have it flex upwards more, personally, so it could fight better inverted. I don't really like invertible bots with wedges that only work one way up, when you're upside down, it's a massive hinderance more than anything.Wire it so then the wedge can fall down if it's inverted (I'm assuming skirts work the same as metal hinges when wired, as I haven't tried with them)? 2094

Something I've just noticed, the Current Tournaments sub-board doesn't show up in the unread posts. At least not for me. Would that be because it contains sub-sub-boards?

Plus, if one of the wedges AGOD's, that makes the other one pretty much useless. I'd have two straight ones, personally, rather than overlapping like that. How often do the beaters on the side come into play, though?

Invincible trapper. Nice idea. I've never understood the wedges overlapping like that, though.

I'd agree with Craaig, if we're going to put everything into an RA2 category, then we should add more subcategories, such as Tournaments and Showcases, with the Brackets & Vids, Stock Showcases, and so forth inside them. It just looks far too cluttered at the moment, in my view.

I think it would probably be best to split them, so it'd be easier to distinguish between Stock and DSL for the newcomers. I'd be interested to know the reasoning behind lumping about 14 boards and 8 sub-boards together.

All the tournaments and Discussion boards got lumped together. Looks a bit of a cluster<expletive>, in my view.

How does it work with 12 entrants, four heats of three and a four-way final, or three heats of four and a three-way final?
