Modifications / Re: Punch Out!! Ui« on: July 04, 2011, 12:11:39 PM »Wasn't there a tournament somewhere which was about boxing robots? Yep that would be my tourney idea. I'd put it up for the polls but I've got work and stuff IRL so there isn't enough time to run it. Also Joe never finished the arena for it but I can't blame him for dropping the project after I pulled out of the pollfor it and then took a break from GTM. :P 2066

Why the overkill capacity battery? If it's 4wd you could run two matches on a 2.5ah battery counting on I guessed correctly in assuming that its running 550 size motors.
As a side; I noticed your wheels are press fitted drectly to the gearboxes output shaft. I've never seen wheels attached like that work well. If you have a laythe or know someone who does it might be a good idea to make something like these to attach the wheels or you can buy them here I use this setup on all of my robots. 2068

Also care to explain how a "replica" of killdozer has 10 wheels when the real one only had 6 wheels?

I think you need to shrink the chassis. Judging by your hand it's almost as big as my 12lber unless of course your had is super small. :P
Trust me smaller chassis = good for same reasons it's good in RA2, smaller surface area target to hit, you can spend weight in thicker armor and you won't become the butt of large robot jokes. (last one isn't true) I've never used that gearbox/motor combo but i've never heard anything great about it. Also how did you mount it? I don't see any screws on the bottom. Sorry if this comes across as harsh. I'm only trying to help and I don't want your end result to be cannon fodder. 2071

You're using BaneBots wheels? Let me know how they hold up, I've heard mixed reviews about them and their mounting hardware.

I hate cheap Chinese two stroke engines. I've spent the past few hours trying to fix one and I get it running to a point where it doesn't leak fuel and idles smoothly. I got it so it stopes leaking and then the throttle/carburetor assembly went sproing and ate itself. Now it's broken again.

Yes they are metal hinge wedges. They were originally axel wedges but they AGODed so I switched to metal hinges
