Wow Bloodwyrm. Very nice work. Your drawing style kinda reminds me of Hans Steinbach's (leaning a bit more toward realism than Hans though). The candle smoke trails are a bit long though... kinda distracting to the whole piece. Overall it is well done indeed!

This kind of stuff is the reason I put in a joke entry; I felt more like having fun than obsessing over the "accurate vs battle worthy" debacle.
Meh, I don't think people are obsessing. I think they are really excited. I am kinda sad that Steel Reign is probably going to tear your joke bot to shreds. It is really good and I respect you and your craftmanship very much.

Dodge Made a Demon for a few years. It is actually a pretty awesome ride.

I didn't do it because of my competitors, I did it because I want it to be more life-like. If you had just made panic attack in DSL, and it didn't have the side skirts, wouldn't you mod it so then it would be realistic?
I can see where you are coming from. And I can tell that you are speaking the truth because if you wanted a competitive advantage you would not have mentioned the modification at all. It just looks kinda bad when you say that... because there were deadlines and stuff. But we know you are a good guy and not a douchebag. I just wouldn't recommend changing stuff on your bot much as a tourney host. It introduces the element of doubt and can hurt your reputation. On that note though, thanks for mentioning it and being honest. Hehehe.

After I had done the splash, I added a better wedge. It now has a skirt hinged wedge.
Uhh... I don't mean to be a jerk or anything but, modding your bot after seeing your competitors is kinda lame.

Didn't somebody recently say that Rage Against the Machine got back together for a tour? I would love to catch them if they still have their magic. I don't want them to disappoint me like Helmet did last year.

Rule of thumb: "if the extenders are attached to things that protect the extenders... you generally don't need to make them strong."
I, personally would swap out all those extenders for poly ones and save some weight. They don't look like the will take much for punishment with that setup. I really like how that bot looks. Even though 2wd bots seem to rule the world these days... I like how that one is designed. I bet it is a blast to use in the combat arena.

yeah i see how all you guys said the weapon motors would suck blade stoppage to the max re tuning now
Heheh, 'tis cool. We all learn as we go along. Just remember to have fun playing the game while digesting feedback from everyone (you don't always have to take the feedback seriously though). Oh, and check out other showcases for ideas. Keep building and have fun!

You get points for realism. With a nice skin that bot could easily pass for a replica of a real-life bot.
Couple of tips though... Study up on the DSL bars and Flipper Segments. Notice how those items have some pretty useful attachment points. They are more durable than the extenders you are using. It took me a while to get used to using flipper segment pieces on my bots, but now that I am fond of them... my builds are more durable.
I think the piglets are terribly underpowered for this style of bot. You will notice that they wont lift much when a blow is landed, especially on a HW bot.

My trusty old Mac Powerbook is still running OS 9.2. I only use it to run Photoshop. My main computer is running XP, which is an awesome OS. Since I work at a store that sells computers I got to get down and dirty with Vista and determined that I would skip that OS generation altogether (because it's a RAM hog). Now that 7 is out I can finally upgrade, because that OS seems quite awesome and runs RA2 nicely.

We gotta work on a nice skin for Grannies... those are probably the most fugly wheels in RA2 (IMHO). It is on my list of things to do, but out of habit I keep making that list longer and more complex every day. :P
Wicked bot. In a weird way, it makes me feel small and insignificant.

My router just caught on fire trying to allow the BMP images through to my computer. Please post JPG or PNG images in the future.

I don't like my chances against S32. While my bots have a wedge, which will give me an advantage on that front... his bots weaponry is far greater than mine.

Looks cool!
I thought Slimbody motors were sin?
On the HW... does the top sheet prevent invertability?
I like them very much.
