Well, I'll start my showcase with a new HS I've built. I call it 28, in honour of 21 year old Luc Bourdon who died today. He played defense for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL. I'll post innards later, but I'll see it sage can guess this one's setup first. More bots to come.

Damn good bot too.

Thanks. I have something pretty sweet up my sleeve in the stock division, but I can't really say the same for DSL, but I'll think of something...

On the RA2 forums, it was becoming either required to AI your own bots, or don't complain about the AI'ing job someone else did, in order to cut down on the hordes of "U suk u cant ai worth crap u r teh reason i lost noob" comments, so how to AI is pretty general knowledge now, and personally, I prefer it. It does it's job well.
And, I'm already starting to play with possible designs :D
BBEANS, BBEANS, the magical fruit...

Err... I may not be able to get my bots to you until next sunday due to my huge workload at the moment, but I'll try my best.

I'll start with a non-battling bot, but a tribute of sorts: It's R.O.B! I want to skin the storm piston to make it look more like his head, but i'll do that when i'm not feeling so lazy. I'll have some actually battle-ready bots here soon.

Err... I might be wrong, but I don't think II entered...
As for you venko, you say you can beat every HW in SCv3 with a single bot like it's something special. It's really not, because most of the people that post here can do that too. Hell, some of us have MW's that it can do it. Stop acting like you're some type of god, and put your money where your damn mouth is. You will not get any respect from anyone until you actually show us you are actually a decent builder, not just some cocky noob. So go ahead, flame me and everyone else on this forum, but it won't matter. You've got nothing to back up your claims to be some sort of prodigy.

He's kidding man :P. Though Absolute Chaos is probably one of the best bots ever built, it's still beatable. That being said, it would be a feat worth mentioning in the RA2 wiki or something. Anyways, the HS is much better than the first design, and as for the Hammer/rammer, switch the places of the wheels and the battery. This should improve handling.

Just a little bump to keep thing alive.
How many registered bots are there now, and when can we expect the tourney to take place?

The rule that a robot must be able to be controllable (eg, have wheels or some other way of controlled locomotion) SHOULD apply to this tourney if it doesn't already (this basically means no bumble balls, sorry venko :P) because it they are allowed, matches have the potential to be extremely boring, or unfair to those who exhibit some real skill in building good, controllable bots. I'm in though, and I'm gonna WIN this one

Get rid of the pinks, and use a nifty. It's 8 kgs lighter and it puts out more power than the 3 pinks. Minimize the chassis height/width, and use a single baseplate anchor instead of a snapper to mount the snowplow and blade. This might also give you enough weight to add 2 more iron spikes.

I thought stock HW was always just a rumor anyways. DSL MW could be fun, and the arena setup sounds interesting too, though it does put rammers at a rather large disadvantage. Can't wait to enter my first BBEANS :D

Well, on the popup, it would be nice to see what all the snappers are for. I know you have weapons, wedges, wheels etc. on them, but I'd like to see how you attached them all.
On your hammer, make sure you align the wedges. Right now, one appears either higher or further ahead of the other. Also, as cool as the Katanas are, I find them inefficient. Perhaps swap them for irons or something.
Also, to save weight, get rid of that front U cutout in your chassis. Think of it like this: every face you add to your chassis is like adding extra armour plating. The more faces you have, the more armour plates, and therefore, the more unessesary weight you have.
If you can, move the wheels closer to the middle of the bot, not hanging out the back. This should tighten up the turning, and improve stability when turning too.
It's nice to see though some hammers finally being built :D

I'm sure I've posted this somwhere before, but here is my first bot: It was an S&S that started out backwards, so I had to turn it at the start of every match (this was before I figured out the forward heading thing). It could beat EMERGENCY, but after that, I never really could easily beat EMERGENCY with any other bot I built until I joined the forums. Ah, the good 'ol days...

Naryar, I disagree. Caster armour is the great equalizer against the hordes of HS's that drown our arenas today.
I like it. Now make a MW one :P

I'll enter :D
I've already made a whole bunch of bots, but none seem to be that great...

Well,
LW: Reckless Infiltrator - Rust Factory (poker) Uber-1337 - 1337 SPEEKERS (HS)
MW: Intruder Alert - Secom Security Systems (HS) T-400 Infiltrator - SkyNET (HS) Mutiny II - C2 Robotics (Popup) Crimson Fury Xtreme - Carnival Mayhem (Sit&Spin) Extreamliner - Spinners of Doom (HS)
HW: Rabit Pit Bull - The PIT (FS) Tempest Exterminator - Secom Security Systems (HS/FS) Mome Rath - Team Jabberwocky (VS) Neglected Waterbug - Rust Factory (Juggler)
For me, those are the ones I seem to have the most trouble with.

I don't care which logo you use, but please post some of your damn bots. If you've taken the time to put this together, there is no excuse at all for hiding your bots from us, unless you suck and you don't want us to know. I feel that until you have proved that you can build anything at all, hold off on needless stuff like this.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm about to rip on GTM, but I feel that the whole skin is just too dark. Perhaps keeping the dark background, but having the post boxes in a lighter grey (not extremely light though) would help. Also, I think that the poster information (name, avatar, etc.) should go on the left side of the post (like the original forums), and the post boxes should be joined, not a seperate box for each post. Also, for me, GTM just seems to have way too many seperate categories to post under, making site navigation confusing. Mabye either eliminate some of these that are not used often, or make certain sections more generalized.
