I don't see the point of making one of these bots. IRL it makes sense because the spinner mechanism is being used to store energy for the flipper mechanism. In RA2 it is two separate systems that do not do anything for the other one in any way. Also it's typically better to spend your weight on one weapon instead of two mediocre weapons.

Sonny did you try Beta's hammer arm for the TerrorHz rep? I think it might match THz's arm a little better.

question 3, i'm assuming you know the cheatbot2 part of it, after that, attach it to the baseplate, give it some airtanks and wire it.  it does wire a bit different. (forward, backward, left and right as opposed to spin clockwise/couterclockwise) but other than that, it's pretty much teh same

I was missing the air tank. I though that it looks like a giant fan so I assumed that it would be battery powered. :P

Stupid Question Time TM

1. Is it possible to invert a hoverbot? Does RA2's coding allow it?

2. What happens if you do? Does it float upside down or faceplant into the ground?

3. How do I make the hover engine work? (Yes I've been here for this long and never bothered to figure it out)

Discussion / Re: Naming your bots.
« on: July 13, 2011, 11:39:42 AM »
Most of my bots are unnamed. For tourney entries I try to come up with something that describes the bot in some way; such as Poke-A-Bot was a poker and Omnivore ate other robots and Spinoff was a spinoff of Omnivore.

I make $20 an hour but I work 3 hours a week. :P

bummer :P

Yeah it stinks that there aren't more hours but I can say I work for the only company in the world that rents out fightig robots for birthday parties

You lost because Conraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa's bot swept the arena floor with yours. You lost on aggression and stratagey. Here's my round 1 scores

Any robot can technically be DQ'd by any of the judges or the tourney host.

I defined strategy as which robot controlled the flow of the fight more and which one's attacks were more affective.

I'm calling NFX out on theft of robot name. :P

I had a robot called False Popup entered in Elbite last year.

And I also want to know how did I miss the signups for this?

Sportsman Class is 30lbs (13.6kg), no wedges, and must have an active weapon.

I'll see if I have a picture of Warpz on my camera later tonight.

Harbor Freight 18v drill motors are great, they put out a little over 1hp and are under a pound. I use em in all 3 of my bots. At $20 they aren't too expensive either.  Also I prefer the Sabertooth or Vantec escs over the scorpion ones but that's just me.

There's no way you could make a competitive 30 sport out of an rc car. You'd be worse off than they guys from team Warpz with this trainwreck of a bot.

You know you play RA2 too much when...
