Thank all you guys for your concern.
Now I feel bad about making the joke, especially after Mads long post and genuine concern.
I'm Very sorry

Since there are one more team slot open, I have talked to Jack Daniel and if everything goes well, we should have a team in sometime this week.

Yup. I need to think of something to build though... hmmmm.

Heh, this is pretty awesome.  I can't wait to see the final designs.  Are you going to expose the team contributors too?

I really like Beerholder... I mean Beholder 3.  Very unique design.

For the arms though... could you use a T-minus or Techno arms instead? I think your arm stopped working because of the weight.  Those snappers probably have enough "oomph!" to swing them out once but will struggle to pull them back reliably.  Just a guess.   I also think the cumulative HP might be higher for the switch too.

If you save weight with that change you might be able to upgrade the weapons. I am totally guessing though, because I am too tired to look up the parts and add up all the weights. (i am also not gifted with remembering all the component weights like Naryar).

Excellent work though!

Here you go:

First few on the list look like possible winners. They are shareware and freeware.

On the VS.  Whenever I mount Weapon motors on the same DDT as the wedge... the wedge just gets too bouncy to be worthwhile.  It looks fat for some reason. I also think that the plows could be more useful if they were out and angled a bit more to make the whole setup more trap like.

On SpikeyFlea:  Don't know what to suggest.  Havoks suck... and can doom an otherwise nice set up.  I think it is just a bit of "too much in too little" that can break a man's spirit if you dare to keep making tiny bots in this unstable game.  :P   If it were stable, it would be a rockin' bot indeed.

Real Robotics Discussion / Can you help me figure out what this is?
« on: March 16, 2010, 07:24:45 PM »
A while ago I had evil plans to build my own Battlebot and compete (when I was a huge fan of the show).  I stockpiled a bunch of electronics, parts, wheels, components over the span of a year but never ended up building anything.  Well I am cleaning out my storage and putting some items on ebay.

My question is:  What is this item pictured? Is it a power distribution block or something like that? I am not extremely familiar with components like this, so any info you have would be quite awesome. According to the manufacturers website it is called a Contactor? or Auxillary Contact?  What does it do?  I am hoping that some of you real life bot builders can explain the basics to me about this device so that I can properly post it online for sale.

Thanks for your help.

Just leave some Bionicles on their doorstep and hope for the best.

I got the "yer gay!" stuff all the time through college.  Mainly because I am friendly to everyone. Hug people often and I don't judge anyone based on their sexual preference. I am also known to get teary-eyed while watching certain movies. (Yes, I cried at the end of Iron Giant as a grown adult ok!) Needless to say I never took it seriously because they were attributing feminine-friendly qualities to being "gay" and thus trying to use it as an insult.  Combine the fact that I think that women rock and I am happy with myself as a person, the insult didn't hold any significant impact whatsoever.

That being said... G.K. you are awesome. Don't worry about being bullied here on GTM. You got plenty of friends here.  As for the real-life bully stuff... don't let it get to you. In fact if you turn around and amplify what they are insulting you for ten-fold you will be surprised how many admirers you will get for making that statement.

Oh and I forgot this:

Gonna give some feedback to Jonzu here:

CombatAnts tourney Pros:  Speed of posting brackets, splash, and vids is quick and awesome.  You certainly know how to get everything prepared and running nicely.  Your rules are clear and you do everything necessary to start and run the tournament efficiently.  Good work.

CombatAnts tourney Cons:  Camera angle and distance is very unexciting. I imagine you are trying to get all the bots in the frame so that nobody misses what their bot is doing, but its not very exciting.  Closer camera angles would be nice.  I think you should practice it some.

@Naryar: Balast on my CC entry? It has a kind of tail but I canot remember balast putting in it.

I think he's getting CC mixed up with the Amazing Rage Tourney. (just a guess)
