are we going to be able to have alternate color extenders/shells/disks/plates and things of that sort in this one? like in a drop down when you click on the item so as to save space
would really contribute to having better looking and more unique bots. ive been wishing forever for such a thing

I'm doing that in my mod. ;) Also Including Hardox extenders and armour to match the new weapons.

Cheers 090901, that was very helpful. Now most of the arenas have music and the stock music from the menus and botlab have been replaced. I now just need the sound effects and Jonathan's commentary. Possibly even the recordings of that lass in the AOD Botlab if possible. Anyone able to fetch them for me? Thanks guys.

Oh btw I changed the splash after testing all the updated arenas with the music and the game decided to pack in. So I'll have to delete everything and reinstall it. Is stupid that it crashed from that of all things, even after adding the old one back it still buggered up and deleted half of the teams. Thank god I backed everything up to the laptop, Dropbox, Jarvis and ds7's computers!

Edit: Sonny I managed to change the pit siren noise by editing the .py file for the arena. The activate sound is the same noise twice and the last being different. Will take some thinking to change.

And thesnowsteak, you seem a bit on edge, why like? I know you were having a laugh... I'm not a bastard you know haha.

Robobowler, if you could send the entire thing that would be greatly appreciated, I can section the commentary to save you the trouble. :) thankyou!

Edit again: 3 1/3 hours? Oh my god maybe it might be good for you to cut it down abit mate, I'd really appreciate it!

Thankyou for the comments guys! This week I've been working on sounds and music, preparing everything for the new batch of sounds that Jarvis is recording this weekend.

The lt RW arena that Wham revamped now has background battle music and an intro! Same with the tourney arena she made. I'll be adding music to a few other stock/DSL arenas that I've reskinned, such as the octagon and the blade arena... Not too sure on the Parking lot arena though.

___________________________________________________________

Right big favour please lads

Can literally anybody rip the and send me the sound files from RWEW or RWAOD of all of Jonathan's commentary, the bot lab music and any arena music if need be?

This is a very important task and whoever does it will be credited when released and their name will be on the splash.

Hahaha oh well. Do you know Ive bought some s900s for my FW recently? So I'll be bombing around hopefully ramming robots oota!

There's still a ram available I think in the for sale thread on FRA, specially made for a feather.

Well I've already been keeping a hold of it a good few years so it's fine. :) what is it you want to use it for? Because the rams in the picture and the one I have wouldn't really be suitable for FWs... Unless you chopped them in half. :P

I said this when I found it, and I've said this on FB. Here is the same post copied and pasted.

"The best thing to do if you really want, Because there's no way in hell anyone would lug that around the country to display at events.

So best course of action for the buyer is to empty out the insides of valuables then either keep them or sell on... If they work. Take the chassis, weapon and wheels and add new casing, then donate it to John to take around the shows for display... Otherwise it's just a cheap donor that is frankly... Already overpriced. And I'm sure all the other roboteers here will agree with me.

It's literally a buy, visually restore and donate job for anyone who doesn't work for the Robot Wars company. As Gareth has said. Getting it into competitive form will be a waste of cash, time and money."

And what Leo Van Miert, the owner of Splinter said:

"When I bought Splinter and Hannibal of of Ebay I did so because they were in a condition that you could compete with it with little effort. This is a bunch of metal with a weapon that was not effective in series 2, let alone in modern HW combat. And for display purposes it would take so much time and resources to even make it look presentable that I'd sooner build a new one."

Thank you guys, great to be back! The forum seems quiter than before I left though. Odd!

Knight, Yeah Mangler is a house robot John Findlay built. It weighs 150kg there abouts.
And as for Mortis and Black Hole, you'll have to wait and see, ;) don't forget about the DLC That will follow.

Thyrus, cheers man. I haven't got a PM in a while, Once I have the first 15 teams all completed should I send the stuff over then would you like to make a start on the AI-ing?

I've just knocked this together tonight, that means now another team is complete!
Scorpion now joins Flow and Titan.

Hello guys, it's been a while!

It's been a tough week with everything going on, as DS7 has mentioned. The funeral ended on a happy note... Bizarrely. And erm I'm pretty much better but I've still got an irritating cough, smoking will cure it! Haha.

But aye, massive thankyou to you all for saying what you've said I really appreciate it. :)

Either way I have had the time to get on with a few things in return.

I've been making new versions of several robots, an upgrade as such to bring them up the the same standard as my recent work. Dantomkia, Eruption and SMIDSY have all had this treatment. Oh and not to mention the first Robot Wars Live arena I made, has had a massive re texture with thanks again to Jarvis for photographing everything. Just need to retest urge the floor now and it's up to the same standard as the tour arena.

And last but n... Probably least, DS7's Mangler has been made compatible with the game, it needed a few bits redoing and the skinning obviously but that's that out of the way. And I've also made Speed Wave and the superb Little Hitter 3 for the FW Catagory.

Oh and a new teams list, upgraded and downsized from the one Jarvis and myself did is now uploaded to the first post of the thread.

Thank you to Vertigo for doing it.
:)

Thanks again everyone!

EDIT: list does not include DLC as they will be announced as time goes on. Obviously after the mods initial release so if you don't see your favourite robots now, you might do later!  ;)

Hi lads, I've been very busy lately but I can answer a few questions.

I will indeed be supplying a small kit of parts but so people can make realistic yet unique robots rather than replicas. A few of the parts from Whams Roaming Robots pack will be enhanced and revamped for people to make their own replicas of robots not featured in the mod.

As for decorations, please remind me on when the replica list is completed to get them done! ;)

Right first off is a revamped Manta Jr since the one I made previously was actually Mantle the beetleweight... So I had a daft moment! The second is something long awaiting to be included in this mod and thanks to Jarvis for photographing the robot, creating the skins and creating the mesh with little I out from me, we now have Titan!

Yeah feel free to discuss that lads! What sort of stuff yous expecting? All the usual weird add on stuff from the RW games?

I'll answer your question when I've exported Jarvis' first replica for the game. ;) and I can assure you it's awesome. Clue - It's something I've already made before but I made it look crap.

Thankyou guys, I'm pretty chuffed with it. And like Razer when it crushes, the robot is trapped and you can drag it anywhere. And the simple trick to doing it is simple two separate collisions! So the claw comes in two components... Mind, Razer's claw comes in three!

Thankyou guys, I really appreciate what's been said.

As for the arena thanks again, I'm looking forward to using it too! I'll be messaging Trov when I'm back from work to ask if he can use it to make a tutorial for me, killing two birds with one stone since Click has been absent for a while. But since the Tour arena is a drastic improvement on the larger robot wars live arena I made, I will be remaking it. :)

Yes I'll be looking forward to fighting the heavys in the arena too. It should be nice and cramped! And the gaps between the polycarbonate walls and arena walls will be too small for heavys to oota each other bar the entry gate side.

Thanks again to Craig for photographing the real thing this past weekend, I have made Team Danby's other Heavyweight... TX-109 :)

For some reason the photos have been squished a bit, something wrong with photobucket I suppose? But you get the picture! I hope you guys like it.

Yes indeed DS7 is having very poor health issues at the moment but he's going to keep working behind the scenes to distract himself.

As for myself, the bad news I received was not about me but about someone else and that's all I'm saying. It's worse than most of you can imagine... But at the moment it's not confirmed.

The reason why I'll be cutting down on the amount of robots is because I've put too many in there and it's given us more work than we can really afford to fork out. The robots which have been made, bar Kronic will still be included.

Anyway I hope this lightens up the mood. It's the featherweight arena you all have been asking for! It's Robot Wars Live @ Newcastle arena. :)

Massive thanks to Jarvis for specially taking the photographs that were used in this skin! ;)

Well the chances of people saying no at the moment are pretty slim because the competitors are all around today. If there are any people who say no then to be honest it doesn't matter, because after getting some bad news last night I might be cutting down the list of teams.

Also the first 15 teams are going to be re-organised to predominantly have the modern competitors from today. Being under the Robot Wars brand of course it would be silly to have it any other way. But this also plays to another positive... I've powered up a lot of components in competition you'll find it would be a better challenge to fight to modern robots as opposed to the older ones.

Natef, Me-Me is a Team RobotDojo robot, but I'll most likely be axing that team off the list. Stealth is a featherweight flipper from the tiny toon team. See the competitors gallery on robotwars.tv for more information on it.

Oops, sorry nah I don't need anything else haha. It's incredibly hard to make sure every robot on that list is the right colour! 189 robots in total, 6 House Robots unlisted.

The arenas will still be making an appearance. Jarvis has been a massive help by taking photographs of the real robot wars live arena so the old mesh can be updated and the smaller one that attended the Northern Tour can be made for the Featherweights. As soon as I get in touch with Google for their streetview of the area then that arena should be made.

Hahah, oh how complex keyboards used to be when we were young! :P

I can barely remember anyone either if I'm honest mate. Your user name is quite memorable, mine on the other hand was daft! I could only properly remember Goose, Click and ACAMs tbh. Then again it was ten years ago or so when I buggered off!

Who was the nutter who ran the other forum that was all dark ect? And he ran the biggest tourneys and fell out with people all the time? Was it RFSHQ or something?

woaah i didn't even catch ray2k when i first read this. he was the first person to make killer skins. MAD_Scientist still owes me a robot skin!

I made the AON2 Arena skin... I'm suprised the arena is still downloadable with the damn thing... I never realised how poor it was until I came back. :P

I remember you Toast, didn't we have each other on MSN? I used to be Burnbotics Burnout bad in the old cringey embarrassing days. I was utterly useless! Now I'm making a Mod bigger than DSL under the Official Robot Wars brand (see modifications section) so erm... Times change don't they? :P
