I don't mind older technology HS being replaced by new technology HS but you all are in sync with my preferences of other types of robots that fit the theme of each team.
Theme can be texturing to the right look. Medieval for Castle Guard is a good example.
Or type of bots: Predominately Over-the-Top Hammer Bots for Team Jabberwocky is another good example.

Custom components can be fun for private making of your own bots but most will not respect or allow in online or tournament play. It is because it is so easy to abuse.
We created DSL as a way to have tested and reviewed new components (many based on real life) added to the game. A controlled way of enhancing the game. We recognized there needed to be a way to have us all work with the same new components and have some semblance of balance when fighting the Real Life Replicas or creating closer to Real Life Robotics.
Fan made components can be a ton of fun for making an all-powerful robot that can win most any battle. But when that wears off and you want stiff AI and Human competition stick to Stock (is why I did the Starcore packs) or DSL or similar group designed and commonly accepted options.

All three updates are looking good.
Thumbs Up. And yes sometimes a bot does not beat its prior but the better test can be is as AI if it has a higher win:loss ratio.

Head-to-Head Wee VS and the tuned H.A.N.N.A.H both trade off taking each other out. So they are both pretty effective VS.
Do people feel Wee VS needs to be replaced or should we look at replacing one of the many LW HS designs or other less effective bots?
Thoughts?

You all are making me very happy jumping in to do remakes, commenting on each others efforts with constructive criticism amd keeping to the flavor of each bot and bot team.
As to H.A.N.N.A.H replacing Castle Guard: I put a tuned H.A.N.N.A.H in as replacement to Castle Guard because that was the best option available at the time but does break the intent of keeping to same style of bot. Given a choice, should have some style of Sit and Spin or Twack style bot instead. I like the idea of a Tiny Trinity for Castle Guards replacement but if that gets sent in, then I really want H.A.N.N.A.H placed somewhere else in the LWs.
The tuned H.A.N.N.A.H is a very nice LW VS and they are quite rare in the LW category.

*Jaw drops*
What on earth was that thing int the video? A lightning bolt? That was the mighty Warmachine (as seen in Starcore V4 Alpha 3). One of the first examples (that I know of) of a Caster Armor Rammer. It does look like Venko continued the idea very nicely. Starcore

It does a of a lot better than you think. It can effortlessly kill LD and Vortex CE. Sorry for the bump on this. Didn't see it when it came out. SurgicalStrike did great against T-800 Terminator in BBEANS5. As I mentioned I stewed on a pair of weapon breaker razor tips out front vs 2 Caster Armors for Pop-up Protection. In lots of testing against other Pop-ups T-800 was killing fast enough to not need the Casters and the Razor Tips were helping against many other styles of designs. So compliments to you on SurgicalStrike. And don't forget that Vortex CE was designed in another age. And age before DSA, before the effe glitch. Pop-ups had just started showing up in any numbers and much less parts overlapping was going on. In its time it was quite effective and I am glad to have people help make a version worthy of inclusion in Starcore V4. By the way this is the kind of opponent that you need to worry about in BBEANS5... Starcore

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I do hope T-800 comes back to show you how well it does terminate without prejudice.

Congrats to SurgicalStrike. Great fighting. I agonized and stewed on razor tips in front to break weapons or late round ramming vs two casters on bottom for pop-up protection. In lots and lots of testing it seemed better to do the razor tips out front.
Congrats again and will see if T-800 can climb his way out of the losers bracket.

The new T-800 has DSA armor, 80 KG of overlapping ramplates and much more concentrated attack power.
Are you Sarah Conner? Lets terminate you anyways...

Bringing things back on track.
This being a potential flip out arena means any match could be subject a fluke flip out. A bot could charge another bot and one time it knocks its opponent over the wall and the next time for the same charge could itself go flying up and out.
So besides that, I see T-800 Terminator having no problem bashing the exposed chassis of SurgicalStrike for a quick victory.
More then likely the Weapons of Spearhead will bash to little effect on T-800's Ram Plates and be knocked aside by the concentrated maces of the bursted HS. Spearhead's side plow will be quickly broken off and the he will be destroyed seconds after that.
After that it gets a bit harder to predict who T-800 will be fighting next. 45-70 Magnum needs to get through 2 Rammers and a lesser version of T-800 by way of Vela. I don't yet know how well 45-70's wedges lift up rammers to get at their soft undersides. Should be fun to watch.
The arena design with the center box helps bots like Vela and T-800 to get to the sides of rammers like Blood Shed and Dark July. Or I could be wrong and it could help the rammers funnel their way to the HS bots and over power them.
Looking forward to watching the videos...

Also consider the Event Schedule. Are you good enough to survive a Season Tournament against the Starcore V3 Bots. Few have ever survived the HW Season and come out on top. And if you are good enough to survive that... (Takes careful driving skill and an excellent bot that is easy to repair between matches)... You can try your hand against the Starcore V4 Alpha bots. They have been in majority updated and refined. (All of the bots have been converted to DSA Armor where possible and improved with the excess weight. Switches converted to Buttons for AI Motor Speeds and various bots rebuilt by todays standards and techniques.) https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/StarcoreV4Alpha2.zipJust need to unzip that folder to a fully working Starcore V3 RA2 main directory to upgrade it to Starcore V4 Alpha2. And coming soon a Starcore V4 Alpha3 with fine tunings, fixes and more teams to try out against. Starcore

Would like to see your rebuilds of Past-Present-Future team when you can send them over.
I was not happy with my remakes of Jabberwock and Bandersnatch. They were probably effective enough but did not look near as cool as some of the Hammer bots I have seen floating around in the last year.
If no one is willing to send in new state-of-the-art Jabberwock and Bandersnatch updates I will dust off my earlier efforts and see what I can come up with. I have some very nice attach scemes that I just need to balance and tune. Well nice for 18 months ago.
I will be pulling together another Alpha update shortly. From there people can comment and jump in to help. Most of Scrap Daddy's comments were not of much use without additional whys this is or that was bad or could be done better (there is always better) unless someone wants to do the vague "Needs to be built"...

Activating more teams as I find them in my old emails and room for additionl teams as they are good enough. If your team was not shown, please resubmit.
Basically Done means: * The team has been upgraded to DSA armor where possible, or Plastic if no other option. * New excess weight (from converting to DSA) has been in most cased used to enhance. * AI has been reviewed, fixed, tuned and upgraded. (Switch spinners converted to Button for AI)
It does not mean the bots can't be improved. It means I am focusing on Glaring issues first. If you want to volunteer to improve one or more bots in any team, please speak up and coordinate with me. If multiple people want to improve the same bot, the best update will be used (taking into account sticking to theme and combat effectiveness).
There are many bot updates that never got sent or possibly got lost while I was sick. If you feel I am missing something please bring it to my attention and help get a replacement sent.
As you can see, the V4 update is more done then not. With some teamwork we can get this to the level people are wanting and out the door.
Working on getting an updated V4 Alpha out the door soon...

I do and deeply appreciate diversity.
Loved Rejected's designs for that reason and love Clickbeetles for that reason.
I have be very good at building HS designs but even in doing so I go for stories, themes, styles.
