Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Robogames 2015: IT'S HAPPENING

If Vert's somehow gets Eruption on this, I am so going to watch it. I really need to get back into robot combat. I've lost the touch.

If we reduce the amount of awards then roughly the same people will end up winning it every year and it makes it more predictable.

I have no idea how this link can be made.

Maybe its just me not being around the forums as much as I used to be. Anyways I do prefer having the more weird awards kept. It makes it fun.

Most likely to stay on/off topic should go, as should most bizarre.

I disagree for the sake of variety. Plus having more weird awards makes it more fun. If we reduce the amount of awards then roughly the same people will end up winning it every year and it makes it more predictable. Variety is the spice of life they say, and that is something that is on par with me.

TL;DR Just keep it for the sake of fun.

Modifications / Re: Robot Wars RA2 - OFFICIAL MOD
« on: December 14, 2014, 04:52:58 PM »
I'll be honest but that was one of the reasons why I stopped playing RA2 is because it looks and to a certain extent plays outdated. I would love to see RA2 on 60fps and at a better resolution. (Like the way FFVII got upscaled to look better) Also is it just me or does driving the robots don't feel as great these days.

Side Note and just a suggestion: Can you guys try and see if RA2 could work with an analog stick like a PlayStation or Xbox style? I've managed to play RA2 with a PS3 controller but I have not figured out how to make it work with analog controls.

Three good suggestions:

Shovel Knight
The Kid from Bastion
Captain Viridian from VVVVVV

no

We have officially switched over to Unity. If any of you guys have any programming knowledge there I'd love your help. I'm also still looking for some sprite artists/animators.

I would love to help cause I've got animation and programming experience (I've made a few small games before) and I would like to have an opportunity to work with you guys (I really mean it) but considering that I'm currently on a two year training course and I'm having little free time at the moment until Christmas and only for a few days, I'm out. However you have my full support on the project and I wish you the best of luck. I know you can do it.

i'm back from didney worl now

How was it?

When I went to Disney world about a month ago here's what happened to me:

Half the rides had to stop at least once. The POTC ride was stopped for half an hour when we were in the middle. My anxiety levels spiked during the time.
Had an amazing pulled pork sandwich and root beer for lunch. Absolutely loved it.
Space Mountain was the only ride I fully enjoyed.
The It's a Small World ride was the definition of insanity as well as that tiki whatever the beep you call it show.
Lastly when I got back home I got scolded at by my friends for not punching Mickey Mouse in the face. I regret it deeply.

All in all I'd rate the place 6/10.

Anyways currently writing a now 7 page essay to help force the training organisation I'm in to give us the groups and rules we were promised at the start of the year. Basically in short people number was meant to be 5-8 per group and our choice, now its about 20 per group and the're treating us like 10 year olds even though were 17-20 year old. We were meant to be in a relaxed working environment, completely the opposite now practically like school. They bull crapped (excuse the French) us from the very start and people are on edge right now. That's the gist of it long story short.

Anyways wish me luck.

Checking in from Disney World.

ayy lmao

I hated that place so much.

Anyways thanks to my 20 year old brother who has no ****ing life shouting on his Xbox all night therefore causing me to have no sleep and the fact that I have a job interview in 5 hours, my anixety is through the roof.

I have anxiety issues too and I can say that it always works out better than what you're imagining in your head. Of course convincing yourself of that is hard.

Well the day was easy but so I'm currently typing a three page essay for reasons I'll explain soon.

That's quite unfortunate.

Edit: I bet that was... a day to remember! ... *tumbleweed passes and crickets can be heard*

2/10

Anyways first week back in training after my paid holiday in America (Got £200 for while off) and I'm getting tomorrow and Monday off. Might actually boot up RA2 during the time.

Also mixed Lemon Ice Tea with Lucozade Orange. It tasted weird.

Sorry HB I haven't had the time to reply to these excellently designed robots due to my holiday in the United States and other things IRL.

Anyways I'm impressed as always, thanks for making these and looking forward to more of what's to come.

In West Philadelphia, born and raised,
On the playground is where I spent a lot of my time,
Maxing out, chilling, relaxing all cool,
And all shooting some hoops outside of my school.

When a couple a guys, they were up to no good,
Started makin trouble in the neighbourhood.
After one lil' fight my mom got scared and said
"You're movin with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air"

Been maining Shulk like a true Xenoblade fan. Can beat most 1 on 1 on Level 7. Also maining as Pit/Dark Pit, Greninja, Little Mac, Lucina, Robin and Toon Link.

Also I'm guessing we can all agree here that You Will Know Our Names from Xenoblade is one of the best battle music in the game?
