pretty hype to have this on discovery channel imo, should be a lot more focused on the actual robot fighting

just want to say you did an amazing job with the arena, this is the exact kind of thing i had been looking for when i wanted to start my tournament (enclosed arena with comprehensive OOTA hazards). keep up the good work, i'll be watching for sure

Tournament Archives / Re: Back to Basics« on: April 26, 2018, 12:45:15 AM »RA2T2 or whatever the flying hell will be fair to flippers, but then, this is gonna be popup fest soo... if they manage oota's then yayFlippers aren't a thing in stock. Unless you're 090901. Yeah, i'm gonna stick with the combat arena. If it was a DSL tournament I wouldn't have it in an enclosed arena. Anyway, I think the rest of this is OK. Can someone move this to signups? 208

Weight class will be Heavyweight. Is there anything that's in the rules that I should consider changing or modifying?

Looks like the Combat Arena is pulling ahead. I won't mind using it, I just like seeing different bots lol

Tournament Archives / Re: Back to Basics« on: April 24, 2018, 03:13:43 PM »Hopefully more people vote against the combat arena, since that arena lends itself so heavily to HS which are already a very dominant and bland bottype in the stock meta. I agree. I wish there was a DSL-Tournament-style arena already in stock, all the default arenas minus the combat are too compact or gimmicky. Open arenas lend themselves to more bot types. 214
Tournament Archives / Re: Back to Basics« on: April 24, 2018, 02:57:13 PM »Do people usually allow Ro7 break in stock? No, since working around the RO7 is part of stock building, unlike DSL-S or IRL. h*ck i kept that in from my dsl idea, one sec (edit): Fixed. 215

I want to overcome the problems I had while I used to be active here. I shot myself in the foot, aside from Battlebots, by making tournaments that were too gimmicky and were based around things I liked instead of things people wanted to take part in. Since the tournaments section has an abundance of DSL IRL tournaments, I want to go back to basics, both for me and for RA2.

Site News and Feedback / Re: What can Gametechmods as a community do for you?« on: April 23, 2018, 11:03:18 PM »Firstly, I'm super glad that we have a staff member voicing concerns about the state of the community and suggesting improvements, while asking for feedback. This kind of transparency is important and as a community member it's very encouraging to see. combining these two thoughts, maybe instead of a BOTM open build we could show good bots from other peoples' showcases? would also give more incentive to update your own showcase 218
