Eeehh, I kinda would prefer it as a wammer, but it still looks good anyway.

I will get on it. Do you have a preferred weapon?

Here's my first version of Devil (currently skinned very badly). It's at like 199.4 or something right by the W/L.

Not sure if people would prefer it to be kept a wammer? Happy to try.

I haven't used irons because of their normals.

Please tell me your thoughts.

Think I'm claiming Devil as well. I'll try and showcase something this evening.

The hammer chassis is great. I like the second REVENGE as well.

I tried to write a custom .py for it like BiDirRam.py so it would attack like an HS. If I'd used it the bot would have sucked so bad - it's got 90kg+ on each RAD, and its plastic armour. Fortunately for Badnik, I couldn't get it to work properly, and he did request FBSPlus.

I would love to help out, but I honestly don't feel that confident in my skinning abilities. I will see what I can do.

I'm sure the rest of the community would be happy to muck in on some skinning if your bots were right for what they were rebuilds of :)

Yeah, this is an excellent idea.

I'll do anything you want me to do for it - and i'm especially interested in .gib UI editing now I've done it for the first time. I've also got my eye on building Spin Bonker.

I think it's quite cool in the corner there. How exactly does it work - what sort of mobility do bots need to show to break the count?

False Blackjack is pretty cool, I like the front grill design a lot, as well as the use of the lightning spikes. Skin is maybe a little dull, but otherwise I like it.

Steel Shark is kinda ridiculous, in a good way. I think the maces on the wheels are unnecessary, but that's really all I don't like about it.

On the flying guillotine bot, would making the pistons point downwards, rather than use the extenders coming from the top and down, make any difference to its ability to lift itself?

-Thanks. Skinning is something I really struggle with, have you got any pointers?

-The maces make it actually be able to drive :P

-My choice of photo is not the best - that is the bot after it has fired. If the pistons were pointed the other way they would be lifting the chassis up and it would have to start low down. I hope I've explained that alright.

Right, 3 serious bots incoming:

Firstly, a companion to my old shallow MW popup Gicquel, which totally isn't a knockoff of Mr. AS' BW popup. This one has the first name of that football manager player, Gabin.

Took loads of snapper loading and an ASAS snapper/black stack. 20kg of ballast because I didn't have weight for another black and rubbers don't touch the ground. However, I can't really test it in fighting because like Clasiscally Trained Failure one of the weapon motors rupts... Anyone got any ideas for how to prevent this? Weapon snappers currently mounted on secret AP of wedge SII's.

Also I think the wedges are too long but I'll worry about that if I'm able to get the bot fighting.

Then, I downsized my LW rammer Prod to a BW, meet Ickle Prod:

Obviously lack of weapons is the big downside, but I've sacrificed weapons for armour. Also, I can't really see any way of losing the .5kg I need for a 3rd mace instead of a 3rd pink - I can mount it on the SII's axle. Prolly should raise the casters by 1 click tho, they're the lower ones on the LW which I haven't moved even though they're the only casters on the BW.

Also made a second version of Vertical Terrors:

This version is more damaging because of the focused weapons but that's about the only positive it has. Compared to the other version, the wedges are ripped off more easily, the chassis is damaged more easily, the wheels are ripped off more easily and it's just less stable.

If anyone has any suggestions for its issues I'd be very greatful. Preferably they won't involve me having to do those ASAS Baseplate Anchor/DDT stacks again, which were horrible.

Wow, so I got a spot on the title screen?  Nice!

It was mostly down to the shape of the bot fitting the space :P

It throws a bit, but I probably should look into ways of making it do it more.

I had a really productive RA2 day today, I've built like 10 bots. But as I've spammed the forums enough with all the BTTB stuff I'll just post my DSL things.

Firstly, I redid the back and skin of my IRL SHW, and did a funny with the name. Up to the w/l.

Made what was meant to be an IRL MW but ended up being a HW, a bot I call Steel Shark:

And then there's this bot. I was inspired by my very first BOTM entry, back in January 2010, that I found today, and also Tentomushi. It's coincedental that Somnium posted something that isn't totally dissimilar today in his Stock Showcase.

The idea is that I drive over the top of other bots like a Flying Guillotine, then use the servo pistons to bring the weapons down on the opponent. Other than the fact that it simply isn't very efficient, there are 3 major problems with it.

1 - The legs are not tall enough.
2 - The servo pistons cannot physically lift the bot back up once it comes down. I've tried actuators and burst pistons but both are worse - the actuators' axles just glitch out so I can't use it, and the burst pistons are too powerful - the bot just flies away like that thing Stagfish entered into Clash of the Titans
3 - And even if the other things weren't problems, this is. :(

Still, it's always nice to build something new.
