Modifications / Re: 2018 Battlebots Pack
« on: October 07, 2018, 09:32:19 AM »
Right, about that: I did that before learning how to add custom components, basically I just reskinned the parts. What that means is if it’s placed in normal DSL folders then the original color will overwrite the color I made them. Basically this is meant to exist in its own DSL version (hence why I included the full game not just bot designs). Depending on if a second Discovery season is greenlit I’ll either do all 2019 bots with custom components or do a full redux pack with the file overwriting not being an issue. Apologies for any issues it may cause, if I have time I may try to do a fix of all custom parts anyway but time is a lot thinner for me now given life commitments

Yeah that was my bad, I did some bashing around with my cohost Harry in England back in July and I forgot to change the controls up, I'll fix those to be consistent for Version 1.1 and use more analog controls :P

I’m planning a small expansion featuring some bots from 2015/2016, and as much as I appreciate the offer I don’t accept donations for something I didn’t have any financial investment in nor are my intellectual properties, be better using the money to support your favorite teams

Hey that Good Robottal guy that only posted a couple times then disappeared is back, what's this about a pack? Is this some big project he's starting up? Is this to get our hopes up to only be dashed midway through? No, because it's pretty much already done! Release version 1 is live! It includes all 55 2018 Battlebots plus some variants and a few treats in here. Expansions, fixes, and an AI pack are in the works which will come hopefully before the end of the year. Hope you all enjoy!

General Support / Re: Question in Regards to Chassis Shape Editing

Any recommended program substitutes? The one Badnik used costs like a grand and I'd rather not drop that much coin

General Support / Question in Regards to Chassis Shape Editing
« on: April 29, 2018, 01:55:35 PM »
Apologies first off if this has been asked before, but I've basically ran into an issue when designing chassis, it cannot make a particular shape where the bottom half is vertical and then it goes into a diagonal section like so:

Really basic photo to show what I mean

Real world example is like here on the sides of Lucky where by the wheels it's a vertical side and then above the wheels it goes off at an angle:

Is there any way I can edit the file outside of RA2 (DSL 2.2 to be precise) or create a shape like this that isn't making it out of extender panels? I've seen a few people do builds with this sort of geometry but I'm not sure what the best way to go about this is, any help is much appreciated!

Is this what people mean when they say celebrate with green on 4/20?  :really_makes_you_think:

Fell in love with this robot the first time I saw it, knew I wanted to replicate it in DSL

Teeth need to be colored red to make it look more in line with the actual weapon and I may try to see if I could sneak counter ballasts in to make it look single toothed but other than that quite pleased with how it came out

Thanks for the kind words! Now here to prove I'm an absolute maniac and abuse the possibilities I have with DSL, here's a bootleg Free Shipping:

Weighs almost at 1200 because me me big boy

DSL TC Showcases / Charlie Tries Building in DSL

Hello! Name's Charlie, been posting on AHOL for a bit, figure may as well take the plunge to post some designs of mine here. Still pretty newish to DSL (like less than six months of building)

Here's my first custom bot, been built and edited for about two months on and off called Dragon's Breath based on Cobra from Series 9. Weighs near 1000, gonna try to slim down some weight to get green wheel covers. Got a few other builds in my roster I'll show off later on!

And of course it needed to shoot fire as all dragons should
