Thank you DSC. It was pretty tight between the two, but that was a good little contest.

A much higher standard of entries this month it seems
#1: Any Formula 1 fan will love this. And I'm wondering what an 8-wheel F1 car would be like IRL. One of the favourites I feel #2: I guess a clusterbot counts as 8 wheels, even if the name is taken by a real robot. Imho this would be even better if there were more items in the trolleys resembling grocery items #3: Well a jokebot is always inevitable, but I at least give it some credit in that I got a slight chuckle out of it. Face needed more emotion to really shine though. #4: I REALLY want to see this is a tournament, just as long as it's not eternalflame.py. Looks pretty slick #5: Looks pretty good, little bits of detail like the legs on the wheels are a nice touch. Judging by the other comments this is got to be another one of the favourites #6: ...no comment #7: I also want to see this in a tournament, just to see if that spin speed is as good as it says it is. Other than that, robot itself looks pretty bland So all in all I think either #1 or #5 will win it (and by a close margin I feel) 24

Yeah. I guess I should explain the theme of the bot and why it is that specific bot. The bot is based on the Gigginox, a monster from the video game series Monster Hunter. Gigginox is often referred to in the community as one of the scariest/most infuriating monsters there is. As such, for spooks I decided to recreate one in RA2. Fun fact: this was my first mainly extenderbot build, and it was going to have the wings of Gigginox, but I got WAY too tired building the head that I couldn't be bothered. I've gone the extra mile for the next BOTM though

Pretty disappointed with my result but it was fun to take part at least. Hope people still liked the bot

Um isn't that cheating in a sense? Telling people who to vote for instead of letting them choose? How is that fair?

How about nah since people put a lot of effort into these spoopy robots. Also in case people don't know what a Gigginox is: http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Gigginox

I still liked the trailer. Granted it's not as spectacular as previous trailers, but it didn't need to be. It was just to get us hyped up a little. Plus I feel if they showed us actual S10 footage it'd have spoiled too much.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Primeval's DSL showcase« on: September 26, 2017, 08:33:37 PM »![]() Finally finished up the splash for this bot. Anyone who knows me knows that the Saturnalia series of mine is my favourite to work on. I've basically built it in all metas with the exception of Ironforge. And I am glad that this DSL version of the machine is finished with 2 VDMA bursts powering a much stronger flipper, as well as 4 wheel drive (which was a nightmare to try and fit in) to give it more of an edge. Couple that with a custom skin and logo, and my masterpiece is complete 33

3 new bots to show off here ^^
![]() Latenivenatrix is the old Flipper Arma I showed off here a while ago. The upgrades may at first seem purely visual, but the main difference is the change in the way the flipper is designed. Instead of one large panel, Latenivenatrix's new flipper is only the panel on the wedge, the top panel being used for armour against axes/hammers. And speaking of hammers... ![]() The new Magnhild is here. A much better wedge system along with a custom hammer (thank you DSC ^^) and much improved drive system, she's here to death boop every opponent ![]() Another bot that has seen upgrades since its last tourney, Teratophoenus 2.0 features improved drive and a revised colour scheme. Might change the weapon if it's still naff, but for now it remains the claws ![]() And finally out of some of the updated bots (there will be more from them, trust me), with this new bot I built upon learning of the final 4 elements of the periodic table getting names, oganesson being the name of element 118, the heaviest element currently known to man. Hope you guys enjoyed this little mini update to show that yes I am still here 36
Discussion / Re: Which bot are you most proud of?« on: August 19, 2017, 02:36:48 PM »![]() The reason I am so proud of this one is because this robot is actually one of the robot I have built in RWRA2: ![]() And this is my best machine in that mod. But I always wanted to bring it to DSL, so I recreated it, and it looks honestly even better than the original 37

In response to the Ruby critique I will simply say that it is for the actual character's hood. Making the full hood to be used as a weapon support seemed like a good way to fully envision the character

Another mini bot dump, but before I do I want to make a point regarding complaints about the bots being unrealistic as well as certain complaints I had regarding the Yoton machine. To which I say these:
1) Not every bot I build will have absolutely 0 intersecting parts. Sometimes the only way to get parts in the right place is to use the RA2CF the way it was meant to be 2) Not all of these robots are planned to be entered into tournaments, and those that are that here aren't realistic (see Saturnalia 2) have been modified in their drives and such to be realistic 3) Yoton is a replica of a real machine, as such it is as close to the real machine as I can get without being on the team of RWRA2 With that all said and done, here are some of my smaller weight class machines as well as internal shots of Ruby that should hopefully show more. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you all enjoy |
