Finale:
Spinneroo Mate was having the chassis texture glitch, don't think that was there before but there's a simple way to fix that, open up ra2.cfg and set graphicdetail=0, this gives you the HD graphics with the low level chassis rendnering(don't worry it doesn't look bad, it rendners textures right every time and is required for trov chassis glitch bots) I found it very nice that you posted the tracks in the YT description later on. Deathstalker was a nice bot, try to get the Axe length as well as the ground clearance issue fixed and please enter it again, loved it(minus the wedge part on the back, I'm generally not a fan of AI parts like that, also why I'm not too much of a fan of great suisse since it's a simple bot with mostly AI parts, but it's still a nice concept) Don't know what was up with everyone wanting to see Hypershocked so far, guess some wanted it to get up to the finale and then win, making everyone wonder "that bot who should've been out earlier got voted so far and now won that thing?" conspiracy theories... you can find them in the GTM Discord ![]() just open the bot and flip the e-tek boiOr alternatively port over the old Etek and bfe the bot to use that ported over Etek, but editing it is probably easier :P 24

Would try to get the wedges lower so they actually work as wedges and maybe replace the multiextender with a regular round one? Drum like Angled VS isn't something you see every day definitely looks nice.

Tournament Archives / Re: Wild Card Rally-SBV« on: October 23, 2016, 05:20:57 AM »Is Battle Breaker really using a switch? I thought it really needed to be a button in order for the AI to detect it, but I guess it's just the control name that gets searched(and since a button command(dunno why a button is used, does it allow for faster speed or was that just something carried over form Stock AI?) is made to be pressed while a switch only needs to be turned on once, they don't fully work like that) Guess Wakkydude can be happy now as his bot appeared in a fight like it was originally intended to be. I'm surprised to see that Hypershocked got that many votes(thought that it was out this time for sure), in case it wasn't already obvious, it's really the Spinner of the West of this tournament(which is most likely the reason it got that many votes, that or people really want to mess around with Gulden). I knew that it would most likely not win any match(unless it would be facing bots with chassis armor) since it's weapon is so ineffective(also low battery life if spammed), but I still wanted to enter it for GTM RW for entertainment, because who wouldn't like to see a bot getting taken apart like that?(Not really a reason why I watch Robot Combat, I prefer the strategic control matches more, called "boring pushing matches" by most, althrough those can still be nice once in a while) as long as DSL doesn't want to havok or slow down(happened once in a while, it only seemed to happen against the replica MechaV, not against normal bots?), which luckily didn't happen in this Tournament, at least not until the matches were over :P that's completely fine. I did notice some of the bot flaws after entering it for GTM RW, so I tried to update it for Wildcard Rally but didn't have all the time required(as such battery life is still low and there isn't any front/top protection) also didn't notice until now that the Spike Strips wouldn't work well as wedges at all(might have to check what's causing it). Green Arrow should have this(also were the matches done like that on purpose? That's the second grudge match that happens in the main competition now), bigger range with a overhead hammer as well as better armor protection. 27

Tournament Archives / Re: Wild Card Rally-SBV« on: October 21, 2016, 10:01:03 AM »Pretty sure I once talked about it in the GTM Discord and how this is all just a concept so far(so yeah go ahead and say whatever you want since it doesn't exist and "oh another user that just talks nonsense and doesn't do anything to prove it", even through I made sure that plenty of things could actually be done that way), mentioned that I'd wait for Serge to do his RA2 blender suite and hopefully do it with that(so I don't have to do this over 3ds max which I have little knowledge of and would need to be run in a Virtual Machine, also let's not forget license costs if I wanted to do this properly)I once did about testing out a new IRL building style for my mod??? Since said tools don't exist yet, I can't do the mod of course, and even once they do, I doubt that this mod would ever be made as my interest in RA2 has been dropping, that's why I mentioned that I can't guarantee that everything will ever be done for it. I did talk about more details with certain members, however I wouldn't want to share any of that, because it would just leave to the above mentioned situation as plenty of GTM is "pics or it didn't happen", so yeah you can simply ignore it. Also that building style, together with a second one, was planned to be the main one for the mod, don't think a building style rule(like DSL-S or IRL) directly needs a mod in order to be made, neither can concepts, they can exist independently from a mod. It's not something I came up with as well, it existed way before that, but imagine having a entire mod/tournament that only has bots built that way. And yeah I can AI ^^ just rarely do it for Tournaments since I'm usually so low on time. Did AI my bot for Hi5er's tournament and I do think I sent you a AI line for my bot Your Best Dream in the people's choice, did I not? 32

Exactly the building style that I had in mind for my mod(except with less spaces), lovely bots. Wonder what drive you used for the LW hammer and SNS as well as how you go them so close, how big is the chassis used for those and how do the Thwackers work?

Surprising to see Hypershocked get that far, when I quickly checked the thread yesterday I miscounted and got to 4 vs 4 votes on Space Shuttle/Hypershocked.
As for the earlier mentioned grudge match, it depends on how much time you have and if you have a limit on matches, if any of those two are an issue, then not, else I wouldn't mind a second fight even if I think Blizzard will easily get a second win(the grudge match idea was never to win but to show how destroyed the bot could get) 34

For some reason I thought that this would still be double elimination, but I'm fine with that. Congratulations to the winners.

Some nice looking bots, however a lot of bar spinners at the same time.
Mobility as Strenght?! But it uses weapon motor drive, well guess there was nothing else. The robots in Heat D do seem to be possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended in Round 1 already. 36

Oh so it's finally up. Hope it can still get done in time.
So that's what Redace and 090901's bots were made for. The first version of Snowy did very well in testing, outwedging everything, however during the different versions the wedge got worse somehow to the point where even the very first one didn't have any good one. Think a version also had the Flamethrowers completely inside the bot but that was changed so they have a better fire angle(the hitbox for flames seems to be smaller than the actual projectile), big thanks to apanx for the better AI file which makes sure that it won't get hit sideways while waiting for the other bot to get counted out. Because the wedges are such a mess now(as well as most bots having great side protection), I doubt that this bot will get far, also the N12's look rather slim here for some reason. 37

Wait, what? Saw a new Wild Card Rally video and wanted to check what's going on, didn't expect this drama.
Please tell me this is a joke...I have no idea what happened in Banter Wars but it's odd seeing this. I do remember Wakky talking about wanting to do a undercutter while the bot shown clearly wasn't, thought that his design just didn't work out and as such he entered that instead. Don't think it would've changed much on the combat performance. In one way I can understand Wakky, people nowadays just seem to be like that "No I didn't enter that bot, why would I enter that low quality nonsense, this doesn't show what I built", but I'd still be happy that my bot was even in this, and ![]() ![]() This can cause such a big drama while the AI.py change(Badger's Clone Clash) doesn't? :P especially so late on. And don't overwrite anything, the 2.2 download is the full game, nothing to be pasted over with anythingExcept a few of the community fixes like the oil rig arena. Ok yeah I'm totally leaning on it being a .gmf issue since the skin on Gulden's E-tek is the one from DSL 2.0 (The E-tek is different in DSL 2.0 from the one in 2.1), so I'm guessing Gulden just downloaded 2.0 and put 2.2 over it and never patched it with 2.1, which has the updated E-tek. (Or he didn't overwrite files when he installed 2.1 if he did)I didn't know DSL 2.0 was a thing(are there still DLs for that), good eyes on noticing that, wonder if it's just a certain AP that got swapped, because Rambulance's drive was fine. With that out of the way, I think you're doing a very good job as tournament host and this has been one of my favorite tournaments so far. Battles: Wildcards: 40
