Hot take: Typhoon teeth are a bigger problem then mechavore disks (at least at HW level) and should be first in line to get a nerf

Glad to hear that Click is still thinking of GTM at least least. The old "you're here forever" mantra really does hold true it seems. Thanks for doing this FOTEPX, you've been doing a lot of work for the community recently and I think you deserve more praise for that than you're getting.

I feel like there's lack of teeth/drum components that are durable enough to realistically imitate real spinning weapons, as well as belted motors (etek, twm, etc) for them. Otherwise, DSL is great.

I agree that the Mechavore disks need a slight nerfing, also.

Point at a directory containing Bots and it will puke out a file containing a binding template for all the bots.

This is awesome, thanks apanx

I would be excited for a tournament like this, lots of my best bots have at least one CB part.

Giving the drum components a bit more HP wouldn't hurt tho imo. They tend to come off cuite easily if they are put up against typhoon teeth spinners
I was thinking of maybe changing up the stats of the motors. Make them more powerful/more capable of moving heavy weapons. I mean, since when to IRL HWs use an E-tek motor for weaponry in RA2? It's usually perm or above. I guess that would also warrant a redo of the wheels grip and stuff.

I strongly agree with both of these suggestions.

Existing Games / Re: Favorite Games of 2017!

For some reason I rarely play new games nowadays. For me it's always been Minecraft, TF2, RA2, pokemon showdown, and random steam games I got a long time ago.

I made myself play doki doki literature club, which was wonderful. I've also tried playing Battlerite, which is an arena style game (think dota/league but with no monsters or bases or items or leveling, just killing each other with skills on cooldowns), and I thought the gameplay was pretty good although it was lacking in a lot of other departments.

I am glad I read this thread, Pokemon Showdown is pretty cool! I have long thought that a browser-based game like this wouldn't be too difficult. Thanks!

Ah sod it, here's my thoughts on the DSL-IRL bots (as I would have no idea what to say about bots in the other two divisions :laughing)

Literally 99% of the bots I build are not flippers, so it's gonna be interesting to see how I do. And its a front-hinge flipper on top of that, so it's either gonna be a great design or fail horribly.

My first tournament. Hope I dont suck too much. (except stock... I know that is gonna suck)

Ya gotta start somewhere :P

Lol, great looking hammer-bots doot and redsawn.

Wow, I really like the backgrounds for everyones bots. And the lineup looks great.

Why thank you! I actually made them myself lol. I can send them to you if you'd like.

Yes please. Did you use paint or a similar program?
