Probably Alpha channel for object section transparency.
Just mod the GMF if whole object is (semi-)transparent.

In GMF work, 'adding a pit' is a bit more involved than it appears, GRW.

True, S-32... Proof: Look at New Orleans when the Civil authorities were paralyzed.  And that IS how the word 'anarchy' received its definition...
Take the leash (restraint) off, and you'll quickly find out a people's level of function.

But in addition to this fact, I know one is not stuck at this level.....

Hey guys. I'm in Animal Devlopment Biology lessons and am supposed to watch xenope porn.
Not heard that word in a while...  So Nar's into 'Pollywog Porn'
Watch out for the 'leap frog maneuver'. ;)

As Joe rightly noted any object can be made a cannon or flamethrower.
Basically(very),
What make an object a flamethrower/cannon is set in the txt(where the exe gets the info).
What dictates its firing location+direction is in the gmf (geomobject's coordinates).

Blame Mad....my question was common knowledge.
My question should be.
But as for yours, I can tell you work for an Oil Company.....Pinocchio. :p

Nice try guys... Not talking about mutation, which we can talk about elsewhere.. (mutations are very, very rarely benficial to the organism, and almost always a death sentence,.. ending the passing of one's genes.)....But Natural Selection as a supposed means of facilitating (causing/bringing about) evolution. This is one of those issues you don't find published. But slaps you in the face when it's pointed out...

Hint: For idea of 'evolution' to happen, it requires an increase in information(for increased complexity).
But,
(1) Natural Selection can never provide any new information.
(2) But most often causes an actual loss of information... which is the wrong direction!.

Why?

Genetics:
Why does survival of the fittest (natural selection1), actually undermine the theory of evolution(increasing complexity of life forms)?

Empathy is rare these days.

Depends of the person really... look at Joey, then me.

But can empathy function with a entirely logic person ? Yep. A complete person would possess both.  But the emotions would be subject to hgher cognitive reason, not the other way around...

When our comfort level becomes, or might become, altered up or down greatly, our higher cognitive abilities fly right out the window...   Without reason our 'compulsion toward' or 'repulsion away from' reign, and we function at the level of a beast.

Eh. Yeah. Sometimes when a storm wrecks your house and kills your loved ones, people tend to forget to think reasonably. But at the same time, that "not thinking reasonably" is linked to attraction to the ones your esteem, which IS linked to empathy... i think ?  ??

By not thinking clearly and full-time we cause about 80% of our own hell... Few learn from this, but rather to not face the resulting chaos of not being in touch full time, we just escape reality more...  Duh.

Theorically, I agree. But despite being built and evolved for rational thought (having the most developed brain of all animals) can we be beings of pure reason ? Yes, to be blunt. But not with such a paradigm. I'm an ex-evolutionist because of consistent and comprehensive reasoning. It's a faulty but popular paradigm, Nar. As I pointed out before from my own extensive work with several from Harvard, MIT and about a dozen other schools around the US, many of the authors of the published textbooks you read, do not actually hold evolution as their paradigm,.. they do it to acquire and/or keep their job. I can put you in contact with many that when they even mentioned some of the problems and inconsistancies in didactics or publishing about the theory of evolution, they were quickly terminated. (PM me.) Si j'étais en France et eu le temps, je m'asseyais avec vous pendant une semaine ou deux et d'expliquer le reste du scénario qui ne parvient jamais à sortir des salles de l'université, par crainte de représailles. Careful, Nar. Your too gullible. You need to thoroughly check out both sides totally, Nar before you set your life paradigm. Especially since there are no guarantees that you'll be around tomorrow.

Empathy is rare these days, as PW rightly pointed out...
What I've learned from my own research (and myself):
When our comfort level becomes, or might become, altered up or down greatly, our higher cognitive abilities fly right out the window...   Without reason our 'compulsion toward' or 'repulsion away from' reign, and we function at the level of a beast.  That's when we will reap hell.
As for this guy, (if it's real) he should have thought before he responded.  Not being sober-minded was the cause, the chaos was the sad results.  We should learn from this to not be escaping reality through any form of insobriety,...for sometimes the unconsidered consequences are not conducive to learning from them, because they're lethal. Very sad.
By not thinking clearly and full-time we cause about 80% of our own hell... Few learn from this, but rather to not face the resulting chaos of not being in touch full time, we just escape reality more...  Duh.

Trov, you still on top of this?  Maybe he became busy...

Bad, I didn't see Trov mention that when deleting sections, you need to keep ALL of the original formatting spaces and indentation at the beginning of each skin, geomobject, and RBcollection (NP, but important).

Are you suggesting BFE ?

maybe...

Only cheaters and mods use BFE.
As for me:.......................................................Truth-Meter
None of ___ bots have BFE!................................(ok)
Not one of my bots has BFE!.... (more like 50)........(better).
One of my bots does not have BFE!......................(reality)

Actually you can do a lot with patient perseverance stacking.....

(Should make a smiley-icon out of this.... and AAM.)

Modifications / Re: An RPM-monitoring AI
« on: October 08, 2010, 11:48:29 PM »
I too agree, this code is pretty revolutionary. I can see this being used in the following ways:

  • If bot with implemented code loses more than half of its weapons, slow down RPM in order to save battery life.
  • If bot with implemented code loses more than half of its weapons, slow down RPM in order to prevent it from spinning offbalance.
I think, if possible, that this could be applied to other bot types as well.

  • If flipper loses all "weapons" on its motors used for flipping, ignore trying to flip when enemy touches its smartzone and resort to trying to pin. Saving battery.
  • If popup loses the "flipping components", ignore those motors and only use the weapons. Vise versa for the "weapon components".
Though I do believe that the later might not be possible atm.
All of these are code-able, Gig.

Be interesting to tweak a little motor like that B/S.  Is N2O within rules?

Yep.
Many BOTM entries have claimed 'potential' instead of 'actual' characteristics.
It's mostly 'splash' skills now.

-Rev reducer (in case of loss of weapon/stability)

Great idea!  I already have a stall checker, but I didn't think of this.

Oh wait... that would actually be possible to do without the RPM calculator.  Just use an analog and tell it to input at half power when it loses weapons or something.  Still a good idea though.
Ok, but reducing motor input to 50% doesn't guarantee it's even turning, when this coding would check and could ensure that factor.

This is one thing I really like about this coding- you know what the motor is 'actually' doing. It could be set like a 'governor' on a Briggs and Stratton small motor, that adds or removes throttle in an effort to both maintain rotation, and at a certain rate.

*Finds self plowing through boxes...*

BTW: I'm tempted to start a "Python" thread where the code could be put in one place for Tutelage and Reference.  Maybe a whole board...  I think Trov wouldn't mind Moderating it...
