Modifications / Re: Robot Wars RA2 - OFFICIAL MOD
« on: November 30, 2015, 12:52:44 AM »
Hey guys! From seeing videos, this mod looks great! I'm still having trouble with my computer, though. Everytime I try to load a game or even testing in the garage, the game freezes. There's no arena's available for me to choose in the arena tab. Anyone know the cause of this? I made a post about this in tech&sup. awhile ago, but wondering if anyone here might know (hopefully this ain't breaking any rules)

Also, Ripper looks DAMN beautiful.

once in a while I accidentally delete some random file in ra2 by accident. A clean install fixes this for me, but it sounds like you may have already tried this. You are using the version from the download section and not the CD version I assume?
Yes (that includes all mods as well that don't need the DSL copy to be pasted over, like Robot Wars RA2 Mod)

Anyone know the cause of this? (Looking for a big enough USB that I'm allowed to use)

try xp compatibility too if you haven't yet
Tried it. Didn't work.

Put it on a flash drive. Then just install a clean copy to the PC if you have to. I've ever had any compatibility issues and all your RA2 sh** is just a few clicks away no matter what PC you're using at the time.

Used this for PCs running XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1.
I'll try that (BTW, what do you mean my crap?)

DSL, Original, Iron Forge, and the Robot Wars Mod all don't work. Am I not able to play on this computer?
(What happens is that everything opens up fine. I can make my own robot. However, when it comes to anything stage related (choosing a stage is blank all the time, the garage, and events), the game crashes. I try reinstalling and also readding the arenas, but it ain't working.)
 :(

Hey guys. I am really excited to get this going, but I'm having a problem. The arenas aren't loading! I try going on the events, doing 1v1 manually, ect. But I can't select an arena. I try to start it, but it just freezes. Any ideas?

However, is it Wii U (I prefer that) or the 3DS version?
I was thinking Wii U since I own that version. I apologize if I have disappointed any 3DS fans.
I own both, but the Wii U seems better for online, as the 3DS... you know how the battle go. Wish we could stream, but I doubt anyone has a 3DS capture. (I don't even have a capture card for the Wii U :/

If we were going to do it now it would have to be 3DS or I couldn't participate. I only have my 3DS here at college.

Dang. We may need a vote or something, like a different thread for tourneys, or something. (idk)

Oh yeah, I just remembered that tourney mode was finally released to the public. As a mode, it's alright, but nothing special. Comparing it to an actual tournament in the Smash Bros community however, it's horribly limited and not very good as a result. It's got aspects that it's moving one step forward, but the rest is moving two steps back. But I don't know. I don't have a very solid opinion on it since I haven't played with it much. On top of that, an entire tournament with some weird choices what's considered a normal tournamet according to Daddy Sakurai it's not something I would do when hosting a Smash tournament. (I.E: a three minute time limit.)

This gives me an idea. A GTM Smash 4 tournament so I can set some different rules. I'm just throwing the idea out there since I don't plan on running one soon unless people are fine with this idea. If we are cool with this idea, then I'll set the rules and such up in Forum games, if not, then that's perfectly understandable and I won't be disappointed.
I'm down for the idea. Maybe I could lend a hand :3 In fact, I could make a tourney right now. I have like nothing to do. :p However, is it Wii U (I prefer that) or the 3DS version?

Yeah, sorry about them being annoying, but I like using non-top characters.
(BTW, Yoshi is like Top Tier, only without results)
I'm fine with low tiers and so on, it's just that Yoshi is a little annoying since he relies on grab releases and a lot of shenanigans. Plus his air speed makes his neutral practically impossible to deal with using certain characters. Of course some others (Bowser especially) can punish his spacing game quite easily so his matchups are fairly polarized. Also Toon Link is kinda floaty and is difficult to get big punishes on so he's pretty un-fun to play against. I don't think people should just play top tiers (especially in a game that's under a year old), but I have my matchup preferences.
I feel you.

My opinion on the tourney update in general... I'm disappointed, honestly. No offline tourneys (though it doesn't matter much to me... still), can't make your own 1v1 tourneys or bracket tourneys, set times to join a bracket, 40 seconds to choose a character, have to wait like 40 minutes 'til the tourney starts even if it's full, 3 minute battles, no team tourneys, can't do anything once game is finished, get's penalized when your opponent leaves during the battle,  the possibility that the "Fighter Ballot" was just for costumes, 3 minute long Youtube replay, you get the point. Sakurai didn't deliver the hype he expected. We got to live with it, though.

My mains as of now are Lucina, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, and Toon Link. Sides are Palutena, Duck Hunt, Lil Mac, and Shulk (in that order).

i must be the only one in this forum to use the Mii SwordFighter as a main
I must be the only one to use Little Mac as a main. I also recently played Kirby,  and play a lot of Mii Brawler (And occasionally Swordfighter and Gunner). I also like Ganondorf AKA King Of Disrespect, mainly for repeated sparta kicks and punches. BTW, is the Warlock Punch his neutral special or his side smash?
Neutral Special. Side Smash is the elbow like Captain Falcon.
(Btw, if you want to battle, I have both versions. Send me a pm, I'm looking for opponents to learn from)
Also, I'm happy Lucina got a buff. She feels faster now.

Okay, I'm back. I just wanted to point out that Hardcore Robotics' interview was so hype! The way Ray said "I am going to be the Battlebots Champions" was so epic, man.

My opinions on the wildcards are undeserving, especially Chomp and Warhead (No matter how much I love Warhead). Also, why is Lockjaw fighting Overhaul again? Shouldn't they at LEAST not allow a robot to fight again, unless in like Semis or Finals? Wow.

Overall, the show seems good (the battles and interviews). I want Tombstone to win so bad, but Stinger is a likely contender.

I just want to ask, is it possible for someone to post a twitch stream if someone finds one about the first episode? I, sadly, don't have ABC, so thanks for your help.

Skype live stream yo.
Yeah, I'd be up for that.
Same. When will you guys call?
I'd like to join too, but because I don't have a damn headset, I can't. :frown:
You can still join and watch with us.
