ouch ! Well this one is a tough one... hemm .. one problem i can think of is if the game was writing to a file at the time like say the teams or options for some reason while it crashed that file would be no more good. I have also seen while reading a file and crash in the middle of reading it can destroy it also. But since it happend a couple of times and each time loosing more and more it sounds more serious. I would scan your drive for a virus ASAP.

Ya i think goose is right... the reason for this problem is when you extract the files , some are read only and there a a couple of files that does not get written over because it's read only. So installing DSL to a new dir you can be sure all files get extracted and then move them by hand in explorer. Also make sure if you make a mistake you do like you said you did.. that is start fresh, if you try the downloaded version then over that put the cd version there will be old files from the other version left and it will be screwed up. GL if it still does not work give us a little more info.

Try not installing it at all .. copy all files to your hard drive and and go into the directory and run the game .. I am not sure about your version but the game is not compressed and does not require any regestery info that's important. It should run right from your drive without installing. It would be right to have a real bought version but i am not going to rage on you and be a two face .. like i have never done something like that before :P

First thing you need to do is find out if it's the downloaded version. here is a fast way to check , go into your UI/botlab directory and check the size of this file "appearance.gib" if it's 21k you have the cd version. Intall v1.2 of robot arena . If that still does not work you out of luck. if it does then after you install 1.2 install DSL , then V1.2 of DSL.
