Hi Gametechmods, after a failed tournament attempt over two years ago, i've re-evaluated what I need to do, and am now completely confident I can host, AI and film an entry level Tournament. So without further ado, I'll present:

That's right, a tag team tournament, but because I know how great everyone is at collaborating, one person will enter two bots, to work together.

Rules
1. Each competitor must enter 2 robots, the combined weight of the two robots must not exceed 800 lbs. 800 kg!
2. Standard DSL building rules apply (no bfe/aam/hax/you know what these are) or cheatbot NAR ai only parts etc.
3. While each bot may be completely different, they must have a similar paint job for the audience to tell who is on who's team
4. Matches will be held in a re-skinned DSL Tournament Arena, and will last 3 minutes, each team gets one havok restart per match, and is then disqualified
5. I must receive both robots simultaneously, so I can confirm their combined weight is legal
6. If I do AI your bot, it will be with a standard AI for the bot type, and not altered in a drastic way, if you want a more sophisticated AI, please supply your bindings/.py/tactics
7. Rounds will be a team vs. team single elimination bracket, with a third place match.
8. This will be a fairly short tournament, I'm only going to allow 8 entrants, and thus will not be entering, if you're interested, please say so, and send me your robots ASAP, first come first serve. If you wish to make changes, and there is a waiting list, I will be forced to cede your spot to the next in line, so do make sure your robots are complete before sending.
9. All Robots must show controlled movement
10. There will be no losers bracket this time around, matches are single elimination, except in the case of the semi's where the losers will face off for third place.
11. DSL realistic rule still applies, NOT IRL (if you want to make your bot IRL style that is fine but it is not a requirement)

Prizes
1. First prize wins a guaranteed entry to any future tournaments I may host

2. Afterwards there will be bragging rights prizes for, SFTW, Best Engineered and TTTSHDBBDDTBL(Team that totally should have...)

Sign Ups
Recieved I will be filling up the brackets on a first come first serve, and checking the times of my private messages if i receive more entries than the alotted 8
Approved Once your spot is green, you are locked in, if you make changes though, you will lose your spot to the next in line
Problem (Stated in Brackets) If your spot is red, it is forfeit to the next applicant
AI'd and ready to go Beige should mean you are done making changes.

1.Ty4er - White Knight and Bright Lights
2.SKBT -120 and False Popup
3.MartyMidget
4.plazmic inferno
5.boombabyboom
6.Conraa

I am fine with you judging things by eye, I noticed that during my testing, that if one bot pushed another off, but fell off as well and hit the ground first it lost, even though it did the entirety of the work in removing the other bot from the arena area.

Thanks for the tips guys, and yeah, I'm back for a while at least, unfortunately my interest in Robot Arena varies over time, but once in awhile i get hit by the nostalgia cannon and have to play.

If anyone remembers i'd like to apologize for never following through on the lucky 7 tournament, I guess life got in the way and I disappeared, all the files and such that would have been used for it are long lost, and I have nowhere near enough time to ever resurrect it. Sorry everyone for not completing that properly.

As for the bot tips. thanks ty4er, I don't know why i didn't think of that, and the back spikes are just some extra weight used camera fan, maybe with a little less motor and battery weight I can find something better to use it for,

Back from the dead! Hi gametechmods, it's been over two years but I just got back into DSL and Ra2 in general, thought i'd see if my building skills were still up to snuff.

Here is a heavyweight grinder bot, the image is missing one armour plate so y'all can see inside, at its final weight its 799.8. I've noticed a trend in hyper realistic DSL building lately, this is something more along the lines of where the community was when I left, is it still considered acceptable?

Thank You everyone the only reason I could not continue working on this was the lack of participation, now that Ive had many more people say they will start working on bots I am hoping we can get this show on the road pretty soon here!

The Mini Warrior wins 2-1 with 1 KO and 1 TKO; AHHHHHHHHHHhh COME ON!!! gets 1 win by Havok forfeit.  Surprisingly, The Mini Warrior does most of the flipping in this fight, including two weird Havok explosions.

I don't think so Sparkles? Thats what click has as the result.

Discussion / Re: Robots Types

The biology classifications make sense, perhaps a formal way of classifying our robots.

So Basic Type > Horizontal Spinner (HS)

Sub type> (often a weapon or extender style) Bar

Robot Name> whole new axis

So a robot like this could be introduced as. Look at my horizontal bar spinner, whole new axis.

Why would you not read the rules before building a robot?

And to all of you who had said you would enter I still have nothing in my inbox.

I felt rather confused by the whole page of AI'ing as well :P

FUUUUUUUUU- I can't believe someone has the same name as my bot! at least there is a 3. My reasoning behind the power surge name was that I built the bot in a storm, and the power blinked out long enough to shut down my computer, by some miracle i had just clicked on the test bot button so I did not have too start again. I took it as a sign and named my bot power surge. It's obviously an average (or less than average) contender but I need some real tournament experience and this should be a great tournament to watch, nevertheless still expecting an 0-2 record.

Haha well rules are rules for this tournament, I'm still waiting for more entries currently.

Even if our post count is low, there are no reserved spots in BBEANS it was first come first serve, I barely got in myself.
