So... am I doing this right? I decided to remake Warpig in Ironforge... but I feel like I'm not playing the mod right. A bot like this can destroy all the AI HWs I've tried it against with ease, and many of the opposing bots appear to be build using IRL rules, not DSL standard. Are Ironforge robots supposed to obey IRL rules? Regardless, the bot itself is pretty generic—the only thing possibly original about it is the use of weapon arrays to mount the ninja stars. This avoids the loss of an entire stack at once, and preserves the separation of extender from weapon. I must say though that it almost wasn't worth the massive amount of axle loading necessary to mount all of the stars (two per weapon array, with the third attachment point connecting to the next weapon array). If someone could enlighten me on the intent behind Ironforge, I would be most grateful.

Well, I suppose that's what I get for not being around.

Damn you MikeNCR! *shakes fist*
In all seriousness though, I do think yours was the better bot. Second place is plenty good for me. Hopefully I'll have some improved designs to put up against you when BB8 comes around.

YES!
Bailiff got third and Pythagora has a place in the finals! I am one happy spider.

Well, after this competition, there is most likely going to be a nerf, if not outright ban on Beta Hammers. Atleast we might get a shot at a great SHW final.
I don't see how using a weapon that has an advantage is not realistic anyway... If you build a robot, are you going to use a weapon that does very little damage when you could use one that does much more with no sacrifice of strength? Of course you aren't.
The problem is that Beta Hammers are vastly superior to pretty much any other weapon, especially since we can't spam a bunch of smaller weapons to offset the advantage. Regular hammers are more balanced, but are rendered entirely obsolete by Beta Hammers, which are, If I remember correctly, both lighter and stronger than the 70kg DSL hammer. It's more of a question of "is this weapon beatable by anything other than other Beta Hammers?"

SD vs. me up.
Ah well, if I was going out to any in MW, might aswell be Scrap. Honestly, I think that if you hadn't been pinned against the wall/hazards, and instead been able to pull away and get back up to speed, you probably could have knocked SD's weapon off and won.

A little off topic, but I noticed there are several flippers here who seem to have AIs that can identify when the opponent has been flipped into an immobile position, and then stop attacking. Is this a widely released AI that I simply haven't heard of? Because it would be a very nice thing to have.
Yes it is. It's a modified flipper.py made by click to do that exact thing you described. It's somewhere in the modifications and designs section.
Ah. Well I'd better go find it. Thanks for the speedy reply.

Wow, my bot's inability to quickly self right actually wins it a match. :P

Looks great!
Thanks. Reminds me of Super Megabyte.
Great, that was the direction I was going for. Especially with the Srimech.

Hello everybody! I have been watching Dragoon's progress in BB7, and I must say I wasn't too happy with the aesthetics or the wasted shell panels, do I decided to redo the design. I give you Dragoon II: For Dragoon II I redid the shell so that it was sloped, allowing me to still have a large size with only half the panels. I also mounted some strategically placed beater bars to protect the panels and offer some backup weaponry. The chassis has been shrunk and made more compact, and I also added a more IRL bent srimech bar.

Not too keen on the wedge on the hammer, and I would probably swap out the sheets on the SS for a extender for more real life shenanigans personally, but they all look quite good.
I hear you on the wedge, but without it the bot is horrendously unstable when using the hammer. I figured there was nothing too un-IRL about it, so I kept it. As for the sheets, I wanted something symmetrical so that the bot has an easier time righting itself. A single extender would have been too thin, and using multiple extenders would have looked bizarre.

Hello everybody. I decided to enter BB7, so here are my entries. I'm pretty bad at IRL building, so feel free to criticize. First up, an LW rammer: Next, an MW hammer: Next, an HW flipper: Finally, an SHW Shell Spinner: All burst motors are Judge version.

Uhh, no?
Small black is the way to go, or battlepack if you really needed the amp. Orange and large black are bad because those kinna sizes won't fit in any modern bots, and ant has been nerfed to the point that they should be avoided if possible.
Also you might consider NAR3 if you want it to be somewhat more balanced.
Shame. Perhaps it just isn't possible to balance battery components. I will give NAR3 a look (must have come about during my absence).

It's still 10 amp per spin motor. This is in the exe and cannot be change.
The only thing that happen is the total power of ant got cut to 1/4th, so you probably not gonna get full power for more than 10 seconds. If you want to last 40 seconds like the old time, you need to fill your amp with small blacks.
Sounds reasonable. Are all batteries now more or less balanced? Welcome back Urjak!
Thanks. It is good to be back. Dude this is great! Looks insane.
Thanks. First bot I have made in quite a while, so it is good to know that I'm still on form.

Ahhh... the good old "180 days" warning. Turns out I got my new computer much sooner than expected, so here is my first DSL 3 bot, The Devil's Teeth: The Devil's Teeth is a HW Sawbot with 8 saws powered by 6 Perm 80s. The bot has 7 ant batteries so it may be underpowered (no clue how power consumption changed for DSL 3), though the weapons seem plenty powerful. Don't have many bots to test it on, so I have no clue how effective it actually is. Man it is good to be back. As always, comments/criticisms are appreciated. :D

Urjak ! Come back here ! <3
Once I get DSL 3 working (I have a very poor computer right now), I'll be back with some bots.
