Mine uses 5x 20cms and a T connector to hold it all together. Yours uses 4?

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
The caster on Warship was because I had some weight left and I couldn't be bothered to re-snapper load everything to put on either HPZs or something else. I could be bothered this morning though and I added a weapon breaking razor instead. Design doesn't need HPZs. I think I could trim the chassis a little and swap the razor for a mace, but that required an entire rebuild and I just ain't feelin' it. Also, I find it funny that the most common criticism of Hellion is that the extender work is messy when there's only one 20cm extender visible. Hellion's probably the best of the three as well. It pretty consistently chews up SCv4 Tempus Fugit and Childs Play. Doing a full rebuild of Tarpit Carnivore. God damn AGOD (have we found a permanent cure for this yet? I *have* been away for a year). 23

Stock Showcases / Re: Jamin's things« on: July 19, 2012, 11:59:26 PM »Nice to see a bit of innovation in stock for a change. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but a turret hammer is hardly innovative. General tips that you should probably take to heart: 1. Try to build to the weight limit. 800kg heavyweights are usually going to be better than 500kg heavyweights simply because they have more stuff - faster drive, stronger armour, more weaponry, etc. So, you should try to make your bots as close to the weight limit as possible. 2. Static wedges are more or less useless. You should put them on a burst motor of some kind (like a Snapper2 or a DDT). We have only a vague idea of what makes certain wedges better than others, but bursted wedges are always better than non-bursted ones. The other guys will fill you in on specifics, but the best way to get better is to just mess around and build whatever you want. Just try to be mindful of the weight limits and efficient building (like using appropriate weaponry, or not wasting chassis space), and your building will get better. 25

Both are really, really solid builds. On the MW popup, you should probably use two extenders per weapon arm rather than the three you are currently using, then put that weight towards lengthening your wedge. The idea with having a single wedge is not to completely out-wedge an opponent, but to place the wedge in a place where your opponent can't defend. So as a rule of thumb, it's better to have a long single wedge. As it's currently built, all wedges with a reach advantage (even on blue snappers) will get under you.

Stock Showcases / Re: Phoenyx's Stock Showcase: I prefer DSL, but whatever... Also Psyclone Challenge« on: July 05, 2012, 01:02:58 PM »Flippabop is arguably more faily than that bot. At least Atomic Pokey Stick a) has a means of offense, and b) is symmetrical. Kill fangs and red x decals I can see, but don't you ever speak ill of gratuitous use of surface layers! 28
Chatterbox / Re: Reputation Law Discussion Thread« on: July 04, 2012, 07:01:20 PM »
Basically, some of the few thoughts here that I find interesting:
its a garbage system and i treat it like a garbage system, i didnt know +repping for good humor was against arbitrary rules and should be looked down on. fact of the matter is, there are no laws on the rep system and there is no way to govern it even if there were. Reputation Law?.... Really?...... I mean Reeeeally? If Naryar gets to control the rules, and the right to change it when it is "not meeting his expectations", he might as well just assign rep numbers directly. The "standards" you're proposing we hold the rep system to are completely arbitrary and utter nonsense. I've +rep'ed SKBT for liking hockey. Does that meet your standards? Probably not. But it still doesn't change the fact that finding this out about him has changed what I think of him in some positive way - in my eyes, it has built his reputation. Seeing as he's a generally good guy and conducts himself well, I think he's full value for his rep. By putting it to a committee, you're essentially telling me that my judge of character is invalid and thus my opinion is flawed and I should be ignored. And you don't think that I'll have a problem with this? Either leave the rep system alone, or let everybody have the privilege of using the rep buttons, at least until certain members demonstrate that they can't handle this freedom. 29

I think I have a design or two that would accomplish balance, but they would both add more than 2kg to the bot, which are 2kg I simply don't have.
Maybe I'll try 3 razors and 3 irons rather than just 6 irons. 32

Wow 180+ day bump. I've been dragging my feet for a while :O
Anyways, I saw this post: I had enough weight for all irons, Sage. Being the arrogant and competitive jerk that I am, I thought to myself, "NFX built that. I'm better than NFX. THEREFORE I MUST ASSERT MY DOMINANCE." Or something close to that. So then I did this: ![]() DSA, nifty, 6 irons, etc. So I'm like "aaawwwww yeah." But then: ![]() sadfasdgfsadgasjkdfgakfhgadlgkhdfhlsgddfsgdfgdfhjk;dfhgj ... motherf*cker 33

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Phoenyx's Showcase - Glass Cannons and random robots« on: June 24, 2012, 10:04:31 PM »I have a major update to post. At 4:35 AM EST on June 6th, 2012, I completed testing on a "full-body" drum/thresher (well, as close to one as possible without doing the whole "tilt it on its side" deal). It works a bit like what would happen if Nightmare was built as a barrel/drum/thresher/eggbeater rather than a VS. I have named this machine "Bragging Rights", and it is categorized under my Atomic Industries team, which I use for the development of innovative designs. I remember building something like that for a BOTM a while back. Unfortunately, I don't have any other pics of its innards anymore (nor do I have the .bot file, actually) so I can't quite show you how I did it. And yes, it's realistic: ![]() I think I have a MW version in my showcase too. 35
Stock Showcases / Re: E://System32/showcase« on: June 24, 2012, 09:40:40 PM »
I read "castered" as "castrated" at first.
You may want to sacrifice an iron or two per disc to get discs that are larger in diameter. This will increase the tip speed of your spikes as well as give you a little longer reach. 36

Man, the crushing reality is just setting in now. The Canucks are done. They're not winning the Cup anytime soon. The Sedins have peaked, Kesler won't be having a better season, half of their dominant goaltending tandem is leaving this summer, the defense isn't good enough... it's over man. Another 10 years of bitter disappointment...
But come September (hell, come the Draft on June 22nd), those bastards will have me hooked once again. I'll be right back on the bandwagon investing more and more of my time and emotions, only to see it all come crashing down once again. sh**, I'm depressed now. 37

Currently, a refurbished Core Drill is the new Coal Miner, but if you want, you can send that one to me and we'll see which one is a better Coal Miner update.

Here's a list of all the bots I have updates for since the last AI update:
- Ronin - Bot-204 - Coal Miner - M.A.D. - Dementia - Iceberg - Lug Nut - Hanky Panky - Raptor - Backyard Ripper I also have an alternate version of Lil' Dog with RADs and more spikes. Is this an update, or an old one? Since I'm now the keeper of bots or something, are there any more updates that have been done that I don't have? 40
