Thrashkar has no right to be as destructive as it is. I think Redace can finally kill him though.
Y U Salt?
Anyways GG Conraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Anyone who's gotten to this point deserves at least some props.
Also, I will be pleasantly surprised if I win my next matchup.
In other news, T O P E I G H T
Also, is anyone gonna update the BBEANS-style rankings? They've been collecting dust since Round 2.

*watches Retooled vids* *sees Mouldy v Tashic and Thrackerzod v Badger* #BestRA2Version'017 At least I got beat fair and square. Ironically the mod I hated building for the most I'm doing the best in. Guess I got further in Stock still but these Retooled matches haven't really been close so far
I just haven't had the experience (think I only had a day to whip up Metal Munchies), but I'm starting to see why you're hating on Retooled.

Just watched ep. 1 Well, that was... a thing that happened.
Not particularly impressive, but it can be kind of excused, seeing as it was a field of newbies. All but one of those fights was over surprisingly quickly and anticlimactically. A few points I want to make though:
-Just HOW FRAGILE was JAR? It seemed to dislodge something vital every three seconds. -Figured Arena Cleaner would win -The Cat proved to be surprisingly strong, though what happened when it hit Sir Killalot that crunked it? -Shame that the one bot designed by someone who actually knows their engineering (Interstellar) didn't do so good. Then again, it was rather steep for a front-hinge flipper -Fillerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The Overdozer recap was especially painful. I can probably understand the logic behind it was (shorter and fewer fights, not part of the main series). Plus, Dara v. Angela was pretty funny, largely due to how utterly awkward it all was (JP probs would hand their rears to them) -We got the House Robots attacking downed competitors again, along with the return of Sir Killalot tossing a loser across the arena, which was all cool.
EDIT: And now I've watched Part 2 I called this one well beforehand, but I was honestly shocked at just how good Kadeena Machina turned out to be. I honestly believe Dara when he said that the Machina was main-series worthy.
Soldier Ant was cool as well, though I did find its crusher was a bit lacking in power. Three tons of crushing may sound impressive... until you remember the likes of Razer, who had nine in its glory days. Still it did well, probably could have won against Robosavage had luck been on its side.
The other two, however, didn't really seem so good. Robosavage's flipper seemed anemic, since it had to shove Soldier Ant after flipping to get it turned over. Dee also appeared to be highly ineffective, just thrashing around without any real power behind its hitting (unlike the likes of Gabriel or UK Stinger). Seeing it go out in what is likely the absolute shortest fight in the entire series (definitely since the reboot) was worth a laugh though.
I also have to seriously question Dee winning over Robosavage. I felt Robosavage had done more damage (puncturing the wheel... somehow) and was the more aggressive of the two. Hell, I think Prof. Sharkey is questioning it.
I also noticed a lot less filler this time around, mainly just the clip of Chompalot's demise and the feud between Savage and Stephens (Battle of the Asses there). Overall, I think this episode was better than the previous one.

It sounds like...Paper Mario? Guess the music style hasn't changed since the last one I played on Wii
It's actually Pokemon: Enter the Ultra Beasts. Does sound very Paper Mario-y, though.
If I may hazard a guess as to what the final fight music will be...

Not excited for my next matchup in Stock. Though Top 4 is a good place to go out of the Winner's Bracket.

There's still Loser's Rounds for me though.

*sees Magnitude won quite literally on a fluke* Lol, Scorpio's going to make the top six in the stock bracket with a robot that looks like it's from 2008-ish. Perhaps it's got a modern interior, I don't really know.
Stock has evolved since then? In other news, Thrashkar continues to pleasantly surprise me. On another note, how was the seeding determined for the brackets?

IMO I think a significant portion of Chomp hate in general does stem either from misogyny (not implicating anyone here) or saltiness that DoI didn't win or get a wildcard. I can see at first glance why someone could consider it a sub-par bot, seeing as it ends up flopping like a fish half the time and its sole means of self-righting look really flimsy (I'm honestly surprised it took until Yeti to get one of those wings knocked off). The only issue I personally have with anything Chomp-related is that the loser of Chomp v. DoI should have gotten a wildcard slot regardless of who won (and I do honestly believe that fight could have gone either way had PRIMARY WEAPON not been such a huge factor).

Just FYI, the heats appear to be: -'T-Minus' -'S3' -Thwackbot -Crusher
and -'Tombstone' -Front-hinge -Hammer bot -Horiz. Disc
My money is on 'S3' and either 'Tombstone' or 'Hammer bot' for the final (the latter 2 are likely their heat's finalists at any rate)

Yeah, I was thinking Razer not piercing Kill-E-Krank-E (god that's awkward to type on my phone) was more because the latter is essentially a steel pipe on wheels with a blade; Razer's crusher is much more suited to flat tops.

*gets here several days late* Good fight from Guldenflame and especially Jonzu.
Also, since when is low weaponry a bad thing?

If we're doing analyses of our bots, then I'd better chip in;
-Retooled HW - Metal Munchies: I will admit, I am very much still green when it comes to Retooled, so I wanted to build something I could be confident would not suck. There admittedly wasn't much to test against, though I managed to beat all of the AI HWs at least once with this.
-IF LW - Thrashkar: This is actually the bot with the most battle experience of my entrants. Using rudimentary AIing skills, I built a ton of bots, plugged them into the game, and ran a LW tourney between them and the IF AI. This was the definitive winner, wiping the floor with everyone it went up against. This is actually the second version I've made; the first (and the version that won that tourney) had a way higher chassis, weaker blade, and no side skirts. As for the overall design, I have this to say: some designs are reused for a reason.
-Stock MW - Magnitude: AKA my remider of just how painful Stock is. Getting the chassis just right took up a much bigger chunk of time then it should have (and one of the reason I wish RA3 didn't suck, since it is much better in at least this regard), as well as trying to figure out the overall design. As such, this is what I ended up with. BTW, I named it "Magnitude" because, since both the drive and weapon motors are on the same Snappers, the bot ends up shaking like it's in an earthquake.
Welp, here's hoping I don't get my ass handed to me.

Just sent my IF and Stock entries, gonna go screw around in Retooled to get the hang of it before I submit my last bot.

Welp, time for my obligatory opining for the RO16: Warhead v. Minotaur: Should've gone with the dino head, Razer boys. I gotta say, that decap blow from Minotaur was something else; don't think I've seen a weapon fly off a bot that spectacularly since... well, I dunno (Chrome Fly doesn't compare). Glad Warhead didn't end up turned to dust though, it was nice that the Rioboyz held back a bit.
Hypershock v. Poison Arrow: Green Minotaur takes out another higher seed. I was actually kinda rooting for Hypershock here, but Poison Arrow just seems to have been the better machine. Really shouldn't have gone weapon-to-weapon, they may have had a better chance then.
Also, Poison Arrow officially has the best drone in the competition by virtue of surviving three whole fights and the rake.
Bombshell v. Red Devil: More out-of-the-box thinking saves MikeNCR for another round. The new aggression rules don't mean much when you can't hit the other guy, Red Devil. All in all, great strategy from Bombshell and a good defiance of the new rules.
Bronco v. Razorback: Listen, Alex and Reason. It was funny when you butt-stomped Chrome Fly, they deserved to be humiliated. But doing the same thing against Razorback was just playing the coward's game. And not tipping them back on their wheels was just a dick move.
That being said, though, it does say something about Bronco's power that it can work perfectly fine as a front-hinged flipper.
Tombstone v. Brutus: And Tombstone does what it does best. Can't say I feel particularly sad for Adam "Late Hit" Bercu. Plus, no guns this fight. I am disappoint.
beta v. Nightmare: Two great bots enter, one great bot goes through. Both of these bots deserved to win this one. Either way, Nightmare definitely showed what it's made of before beta overturned it, having stopped the hammer. If that self-righter had been working, it would've won. Then again, there is Tombstone waiting on the other side, so maybe this was an act of mercy be John Reid.
Mega Tento v. Yeti: Welp, Tento got smashed. Yeti didn't tear the cover to tiny plastic chunks, but it sure did a number to Mega Tento. Plus, I kinda liked the eyepatch.
Bite Force v. Chomp: Bite Force should have gone with the jaws, then they'd probs still be reigning champs. At least I was 2/3 right with my prediction: Chomp got a lucky hit, and was hellaliciously unstable. Though, I feel Bite Force is just the latest victim of the new rules regarding aggression: it could've won that, or at least gotten a split decision, if active weapon use wasn't emphasized so hard. That being said, good for Chomp for redeeming themselves this year.
And my predictions for the rest of the fights: Quarterfinals:
Tombstone v. beta: Tombstone could tear up beta, or beta could smash Tombstone. This one could go either way, really. Also, this'll be the chance to see the qualifier that never was from last year.
Chomp v. Yeti: Take my Bite Force v. Chomp prediction, and replace Bite Force with Yeti. I think Yeti has a better chance of pulling this off than Bite Force did due to both a more powerful drum and the lifting forks, so Chomp REALLY needs that lucky hit.
Bronco v. Minotaur: Don't think the buttwedge will save Bronco this time around. They'll need to do to Minotaur what they did to Stinger if they want to win, but I'm banking on Minotaur for this one.
Bombshell v. Poison Arrow: We have yet to see Bombshell's flipper in action, so I'm hoping it's sufficiently tanky. Kinda banking on Poison Arrow for this one though, sorry Mike.
Semifinals:
Semi 1: Yeti's kinda screwed either way. Tombstone could tear it to pieces, and beta can tank it and hammer it to death.
Semi 2: Minotaur will probably take out Bombshell. Against Poison Arrow, it could go either way.
Either final possibility could go either way; either drum could take out Tombstone or beta, but beta could tank the drums and hammer its way to victory, and Tombstone could do what it did to Brutus, albeit it'll have a much harder time.

Gabriel did impress me a bit, but it just looks... weird. Like, it literally looks like something that was originally designed in RA2. It is probs the most minmax-ed robot I've seen, ever.

While this isn't "HEY GUYZE WE FIXED EVERYTHING WHILE WE WE GONE SORRY 4 SILENCE.", this announcement does at least give me hope. I think I can start messing around in RA3 again.

Before I get started, lemme just say two things: 1) I'm pretty sure there's a conspiracy out there to make bots not focused on big active weapons extinct, but I hope the rule change is due to Hanlon's Razor, and that they change it back for S3. 2) I agree with Brian Nave's comment about whoever did the bracket this year. Anyways, here are my thoughts on the Round of 32: Yeti v. Lucky: Wasn't quite sold on Yeti after its fight with Lockjaw, but I gotta say, now I think it'll be going pretty far. Lucky got absolutely eviscerated by the drum. Though, I do feel bad for Lucky, but they have really got to work on their flipper being up for ~10 seconds after a flip. Also, I didn't know birch syrup was a thing, like, at all until after this match. Blacksmith v. Minotaur: Utterly brutal. Minotaur is p. scary. Major props to Blacksmith and Al Kindle for fighting on until the bot literally exploded. I can see why this has so many views on Youtube. Bronco v. Chrome Fly: AKA the match literally everyone could predict the outcome of. Though I don't think anyone could have seen Chrome Fly getting rear-ended to death. SERVES YOU RIGHT FOR KILLING OFF BUCKTOOTH BURL, DICKS. And yes, Burl is my bot-I'm-salty-about-for-losing-unfairly instead of Disk O' Inferno. And it's gonna stay that way, Witch Doctor v. Red Devil: NUMBER 3 SEED IS DOWN. I REPEAT, NUMBER 3 SEED IS DOWN. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Yeah, the first major upset of the season. I will commend Red Devil for its win, but it's a crying shame Witch Doctor got outed so early. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... Warhead v. Complete Control: I think at this point Warhead had completely shed the stigma of last season and proved it can be a contender. That fight was amazingly destructive and that fire could make TF2's Pyro weep with joy until they needed to drain their mask. Shame Complete Control is out though. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... Razorback v. Ghost Raptor: Razorback wins with an impressive suplex, and in a way that isn't "being the only bot with an active weapon". Ghost Raptor IMO was kinda overhyped this year. To their credit, though, the blade did not snap in half once. Tombstone v. Escape Velocity: AKA the OTHER outcome most people could see from a mile away. While I think EV is a better bot objectively than Chrome Fly, it was in no way prepared to take on Tombstone. The biggest surprise IMO was Ray Billings deciding to go easy. Also, Ray Barca, I think the point of honeycomb aluminum is to have a lot of it, not just to spread a tinfoil-thick layer on top of your bot. Also also, mfw Uranus -> Son of Whyachi v. Poison Arrow: THE DESTROYER IS DOWN. I REPEAT, THE DESTROYER IS DOWN. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Yeah, that was one hell of a hit from Poison Arrow. Just goes to show the power of a good drum spinner. Shame SoW had to go out so early though. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... beta v. Overhaul: John Reid is really proving himself this year. Dude hasn't just beat the curse, he's left it unconscious in a roadside ditch. Also, the gyrodancing was fun. Shame Overhaul couldn't get working this year though. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... Hypershock v. Warrior: I totally did not see the rake coming, and Hypershock swatting Dragon out of the air and obliterating it was both awesome and hilarious. It did also have an admirable performance against Warrior, though the latter crapping out may have been more due to residual problems. Stinger v. Mega Tento: NUMBER 5 SEED IS - YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU KNOW THE DRILL BY NOW. WHICH THIS ISN'T. I was actually banking on Stinger to win this due to pedigree, but Mega Tento held up admirably, even with the flamethrowers. Though TBH, I think Tento got the win because it did more visible damage. Shame Stinger got out so early though. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... EDIT: After looking at the fight again, there was the fact that Stinger was unable to properly lift Mega Tento, which may have hurt it in the judge's decision. ICEwave v. Nightmare: I was certainly expecting a lot of destruction from at least one of them, but I wasn't expecting ICEwave to crap out like that. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... Anyways, glad Nightmare FINALLY has a win under its belt. Brutus v. Lockjaw: Uuuuuuuuuugh. I was really hoping Donald Hutson would settle the score once and for all, or at least not have 0-2 this season, but the judges decided Adam "Late Hit" Bercu should move on. Plus, no guns. Maybe if Lockjaw had gone against Chrome Fly... Cobalt v. Bombshell: ...MikeNCR, if you're reading this, you are a GENIUS. This fight was simply tactical amazingness. Don't think anyone would have thought to target the wheels like Bombshell did. Shame about Cobalt though, at least they have Carbide to be proud of. Bite Force v. Ringmaster: Man, Bite Force was playing Ultimate Frisbee with Ringmaster. I was expecting the ring to be vulnerable to a good VS, so it didn't surprise me when it busted. Bite Force's spinner doesn't seem particularly tough though, so we may see an earlyish exit from the champs. Chomp v. CAP'M SHREDERATOR! PATRIOTALITY!: I feel Brian Nave cranked up his jerk factor for this fight to give ABC some ERMAGERD DREHMEH in the show. As for the actual fight, up until they crapped out, I actually expected TH' CAP'M to win, if only by knocking over Chomp enough to impress the judges. Though I have to say, Chomp has at least somewhat redeemed itself in my eyes; when that hammer connects, IT CONNECTS. I imagine if they were more stable, people wouldn't be so salty over them winning against Disk O' Inferno. Kinda sucks Shrederator got out though. Maybe if they'd gone against Chrome Fly... Screw it. Let's just get a 3D printer and print out some more Chrome Flies (just as durable as the real thing ) and pit them against everyone else who lost this round, as well as Deathroll, Disk O' Inferno, Overdrive, Photon Storm, SubZero, SawBlaze, Ultimo Destructo, Mohawk, Bad Kitty, Skorpios, Basilisk, Gemini, Invader, Lycan, Black Ice, and last but certainly not least Bucktooth Burl so they can all have at least one win under their belts. And now for my predictions: Tombstone v. Brutus: Ray Billings wipes that smug smirk off of Late-Hit's face, though I expect some gunplay to happen before the big hits.
Nightmare v. beta: beta's probs gonna win, though Nightmare could pull an upset. How much does anyone wanna bet beta hits Nightmare's blade and it falls off in hilarious fashion?
Chomp v. Bite Force: Chomp could get a lucky hit, but it's still hellalisciously unstable, so I'm banking on Bite Force to grind up the underside.
Mega Tento v. Yeti: Poor Tento is so, so screwed. Yeti will probs obliterate the cover.
Bronco v. Razorback: This should prove... interesting. Razorback may be able to take care of Bronco, but I think Bronco has the sheer flipper power to win.
Minotaur v. Warhead: Minotaur will most likely win, but Warhead still has the T-Rex head, so it might damage the drum and pull off an upset.
Red Devil v. Bombshell: While Red Devil is cool and all, it's kind of a one-trick pony, and got RIDICULOUSLY lucky against Witch Doctor. Bombshell probably has a trick up its sleeve to beat it.
Poison Arrow v. Hypershock: Hypershock may be able to get to Poison Arrow in less than 12 seconds, but if it doesn't, this fight could go either way.

Well, even if Cobalt burns out next Thursday, Team Carbide still has something to be proud of. That blade is amazingly strong.
...and Razer is easily the BTSHDBBDDTBL of this season. K-E C-E really got lucky there (their wheel was touching the ground at pretty much exactly the right time to take Razer out with them). Also, I noticed Razer was having trouble piercing K-E C-E; was the beak not strong enough, or is K-E C-E just a slippery dastard?
Good to see Terrorhurtz and Behemoth in fine form after all these years, even if they didn't win the heat. Shame about Bonk, since the guys behind it also built Mute, which was pretty successful.
As for Nuts... they fought valiantly, but I think literally no one was surprised when Carbide obliterated them. Points to them for managing to get the bot together for Terrorhurtz though.
All in all, can't wait for Ep. 2!
EDIT: Whoa whoa whoa whoa it says on the site that Behemoth won Heat A when they didn't. What gives?

Man, this is looking to be the season of upsets. First we had Red Devil, and now we got Poison Arrow, and Warhead to a lesser extent. Though TBH, I think the biggest casualty so far is the credibility of whoever came up with that bracket.
