I say this to a lot of new people but you should just take a look around at the other showcases and see how they build their bots. Its a good idea to always try out some of the same designs too. For Child's Play I would pretty much say the same thing as Somebody. Try to make the chassis as small as possible and build weapons and such off of Snappers.

Thanks for the support, its tough to deal with but I think that I can get through it with time. Its frusturating because it is almost constant Anxiety now, when one thing is resolved another thing seems to pop up. I'll see if I can get a hold of you soon Mad. I don't know why I'm discussing this here but just looking for input. On the 24th of December I experienced a panic attack, rather severe. From that day I have become worried about everything that doesn't feel quite right with me. I become so concerned that it is a serious illness or disease that I get horrible anxiety. Today for instance, I have been having a dull to sharp pain in the chest, and I am so concerned that it is a Heart Attack. I'm only 22 though. :/ I think that most of the symptoms are just my anxiety but I have become so concerned that it is almost constant worry. Looking for any positive feedback, if any of you have experienced similar things or have any tips for the chest pain.  I'm starting to become depressed and such, I don't know where this could go.

Alright I put the teams up, I guess the end of January is a good target for all the bots to be in. Decide who will build which weight class by yourselves and then send me the bots via e-mail or PM. Probably should make it a DSL one next time, seems those get more entrants and interest.

Alright, thats 3 teams so far, try to get teams sorted out as quick as possible. Teams that are ready can start building bots and submitting them, just remember to decide who will build what. :)

Aw, I was hopeing for the Hw Mw and Lw team, now theres no chance of me building a good bot. That was the original plan, but I doubt that even if I waited for awhile there wouldn't be 24 entrants, maybe with DSL there would. So thats one team so far.

The teams could still be random but for now you can choose yourselves if you want. Please choose teams as quickly as possible and announce them here, you can talk about it in this thread or via PM I don't really care. From the point that all the teams are decided you will have 3 weeks to build bots (more if required or less if they all get in before 3 weeks is up). Just send them to my e-mail above.

Anybody else? Theres gotta be one more person willing to enter. I don't want to start this too late because I have a long break from work for awhile but if this stretches on too long I will be pressed for time. If you want you can choose your teammate and decide who will be building what type of bot (LW,HW). I only need to know the teams, I don't care who is building what bot as long as I recieve them from you (send them to andrewm0304@nospamyahoo.com, just delete nospam)

Yes Somebody I got my disk back. I only have one version ACAMS, just stock and it has the 1.3 installed. I'll check some things out, thanks for the tips philetbabe that could be the problem.
EDIT: Does anybody know how to just turn all the security crap off on Vista? The write permission thing is blocking all of my RA2 files (such as the team.txt) so that may be causing it not to work. However I can't figure out how to turn it all off at once, instead of going through all the properties of the files.

I have got my game working just fine on my older computer (windows XP), but it runs slower than I would like it to although its still playable. My newer computer has Vista and a Nvidia card but RA2 will not work for some reason. I can get to the team selection screen, but if I try to select one it freezes on me, same when I try to start a battle in exhibition. I have installed the correct patch but it hasn't helped at all, any ideas?

Wow its been heckuva long time since I've tried to make any decent bots. After awhile of experimenting I came up with this HS:   2 Black Batts 18 Iron Spikes 2 Ramplates/2 Plows Could use some improvement for sure, any suggestions? I just wanted to see what I could come up with for my tournament. (1 more person needed!)

Its actually 10 more, but if we do get 2 more I think that we could just start with 8 teams of 2. Then I would say you can choose teammates, and there would only be LW and HW bots. I doubt that we'll reach 24, and it would be nice to start the bot building period.
