its really only new GMF's for robots... since stats must follow a set formula
Even that must be regulated. Example: I could make a huge box that totally encompasses my bot so the chassis can't be touched, and also does damage. Or I could make a reeeeeaaaallllllly long blade that covers the whole arena. I think the best way to ensure balance is to make a list of allowed custom components, instead of letting people make their own. Like you could take a subset of Firebeetle's components, Dummy's components, and Lu-tze's components and say "you can only use these". Then, even if some of said components are unbalanced, it's fair because everyone has access to them.

All right, the main bracket and wildcard bracket is totally full now and signups are closed. Now to AI all these bots... Naah, I don't think I'll try to compete for the last spot. It would have been cool to compete in all 6 BBEANS, but if I'd really been serious about it, wouldn't have left for so long, though I have been busy. I might stay around and watch how the tournament goes, but I probably wont enter any 'till finals are over.
If only you got here sooner... me and FB will be lonely being the only people to have been in all 6 BBEANS (or even all 3 DSL BBEANS, for that matter). You might not have gotten in the main event, but if you had a bot ready, you can submit it and I'll put it in the AI pack. Same goes for Pyscolone.

The bot looks great, true, but it has a lurking weakness you can't see until you put it in the arena. And that is extreme instability combined with 1mm plastic armor.
I'll do my best to AI it so it doesn't drive too fast and tip over, but it's going to be difficult to keep it on its wheels.

Better... now make the wedges longer so they poke out the front. They're not doing any good hidden inside like that.

Match 1:Big Flip's Revenge vs Absolute Chaos Fight 1:AC havok, match restart Fight 2:AC wins by KO Fight 3:AC wins by KO
Whoa, what are the chances of that? BFR and AC are like archenemies or something.

Barely squeaked by again... but I doubt I'll be getting through round 3. That dang Little Boxer follows me everywhere I go (and I can never quite beat it), plus The Ant is Near will be back in the arena.

*** Battle of the century? was a little boring and long, but alot of razor tips on the arena floor at the end of each match. Might surprise some on who one Looks like the radius is interfering with the AI's driving. By default, the AI stops when a bot is in their radius, so they won't push the opponent unless the radius is small. But there's a quick fix for that. Open Tactics.py, find class Engage and look for this line: # try to get within range of chassis... if self.ai.GetDistanceToID(self.target_id) > self.ai.fRadius \ and not self.ai.RobotInRange(self.target_id)[1]: self.ai.DriveToLocation(target)
and replace it with this: # try to get within range of chassis...
if not self.ai.RobotInRange(self.target_id)[1]: self.ai.DriveToLocation(target)
Didn't seem to be an issue in any other matches though. Good fights, and good quality filming. It was awesome when Backyard Gut-Ripper picked up and flung all those bricks behind it

Is it too late for my update (major)?
You can change your bot as long as I haven't AI'd it yet. Which I'm going to start doing now, since it's been a week since I opened signups (but it will be a while yet before I get to your bot). As for this talk of BBEANS7 (I should have known it would start now) I honestly don't know what it will be yet. Some possibilities: -Stock AW/BW -Stock "Classic" (like AU-era bots. No glitches, no stacking, no Snapper II's or AI parts, no wedges except on flippers.) -DSL3 MW or HW It will probably be one of those but I haven't really thought a lot about it yet. It's still a long time in the future.

This has been said before, but the main stuff that needs to be added:
-Compiling light objects -Compiling reflection maps, selfillum maps and additive XP_TYPE.

Fixed... perhaps too late, but it's fixed now. Whoever owns clickbeetle@gmail will be wondering what the is going on right about now. (Someone does own it because it was taken when I created my gmail account.)

I haven't gotten your bot. However you can still get in the wildcard group if you hurry and re-send it.

I use FTP Surfer to upload files to my site. Very easy and intuitive to use. Of course, I don't know if you're trying to upload HTML files via FTP or some other method...

pressing alt+F4 in the bot lab unlocks secret stuff in RA2
Ok, so I tried the thing in Firebeetle's signature in DSL and in the stock RA2, and everytime I try it just closes my game-it doesn't like freeze up and crash, it's just like I pressed the quit button. Help please, and can you post some pics of some of the things that you get when this thing works?

If you really up the bracket this tournament will probably take forever.
Hence why I would need to change the format, to make it quicker. But I'm liking the wildcard plan. I'm sitting right at 63 bots (assuming russian roulette fixes his realism issues and d-lark reuploads his bot in time) and as far as I know there are only a few more people who were definitely going to enter (Reier, Scrap, maybe a couple others). So let's say for now the last four entries will be entered in a 4-bot mini-tournament for the last spot in the main tournament. These wildcard fights WILL count towards your overall ranking in BBEANS. If for some reason russian roulette or d-lark's five days expire, they will be moved into the wildcard bracket, unless that is full too.

Wow, I'm at 63 entries now, counting the "temporarily registered" group. I don't think we'll have any problem getting to a full 64.
I'm almost sort of possibly kind of maybe close to tempted to start to begin commencing considering thinking about pondering weighing the merits of a larger bracket. We'll see how many more people want to enter that don't get in. If it happens (and in case you can't tell, it's far from certain), note that there will need to be a change in the tournament format (such as, the first few rounds being 1 match instead of best 2 out of 3, or doing double elimination for only the first round of the tournament).
R0B0 better hurry and get his new bot in...

I like that bot; it actually looks "real-realistic" instead of just "technically-realistic".

ehhhhhh, it's kinda hard to tell but I would guess not. Does the bot still work if they're straight? Or perhaps you could rotate the angled flipper segments 180 degrees and put some polycarb skirts on there instead of Panic Attack skirts. Well, a 128-bot bracket could be a good idea ! I mean, the more the merrier...

...
*RUNS AWAY FROM CLICK REALLY FAST*
*chases Naryar with a Vlad spike* Wait a minute... Oh, and the first person that suggests a 128 bot bracket gets perma-banned.
That would be you...
