No and no.

Superglue melts lexan. (I don't know why but it does) and you can attach the flipper directly to the servo and use that as a hinge.

SubZero
(Image removed from quote.)

here's an actual picture
http://www.robogladiators.com/DSC01208.JPG

If I wasn't so lazy I could actually skin the segments to look like the real flipper but that would involve a lot of work to find the map of the segment that I don't feel like doing right now.

That's so cool it's like SubZero thats how cool it is.

So I've been trying to get Hax Mode to work and I just can't get it right.

I attach a motor to a piston

and extend it but I can't find the wiring tab to switch too so I can't snapper load it.

HELP PLEASE!

I figured I goofed up atleast one number :P

In my experience robots with two wheels per axle seemed to move about twice as fast, so I made the assumption that two wheels = twice the speed

Flail SNS are realistically unrealistic. It's realistic in the sense fence that it's possible to build one but unrealistic in the sense that it's stupidly powerful in RA2.

It's all plug and play. Connect the PWM wires to the receiver and go.

If it is a 3 channel or higher transmiter you will have a free channel for weapon control.

PWM (the signal that servos and other hobby grade rc equipment use) is not compatible with AM toy radios. Your RC toy's guts would not work with servos because of this.

If Doorstop had a drum weapon, I would love it even more. =D

That was the original plan... Until I came to the realization that i'm not that great of a machinist and probably wouldn't get the drum balanced. So the drum is on hold until I improve my skills or pay Whyachi to do it.

Except if you lose one wheel the motor stops working even though you still have the other wheel.

Try Techno Destructo wheels instead of two Tornado wheels on each side. (correct me if I'm wrong) Tornado wheels weigh 18 kg and have 1.5 grip a piece, Techno Destructo wheels weigh 32 kg and have 3.2 grip. So if you switch you have a higher total grip (3.0 vs 3.2) for less weight (32 kg vs 36 kg) Also on top of that you only need a regular drive Etek instead of a LX drive Etek so that's even more weight saved.

(More grip = more speed)

It weighs 30 lbs or 13.6 kg for you Metric guys.

Luckily it fell flat and the bottom (not one of the corners) landed on my foot. My foot is a little sore but it's ok.

I felt like posting a size comparison between my 12 and 30lb bots

Bot Update

Phoenix: 30lb flipper, about 1/2 way done, and has a larger ram than Explosion. It still needs to be wired and pneumatics need to be connected.

DoorStop: I've build a new 1/8" thick chromoly plow as an alternate weapon instead of the wedge. (Its kinda like Ice Cubes weapon)
