Off-Topic Discussion / Michael Jackson Dead?« on: June 26, 2009, 03:45:04 PM »Quote from: infiniteinertia;46641 If anyone remembers Michael for what Michael Jackson did outside of music, then you're a retard. Would you also agree that anyone who thinks of OJ as a murderer instead of that football player who was in all of those Naked Gun movies is a retard? Quote from: infiniteinertia;46641 He is one of the top three most important musical artists of all time, whether you want to believe it or not. Yes, he did innovate there for a decade. Quote from: infiniteinertia;46641 The king of pop defined pop music, What, are the Beatles chop liver now? Quote from: infiniteinertia;46641 electrified MTV, That's pretty true. Videos like "Thriller" really boosted MTV into the superpower they are now. Quote from: infiniteinertia;46641 and brought black and white's together through music. Now that one is pure bullsh**! There is still a huge racial divide between blacks and whites. Besides, that song was crap. Quote from: Scrap Daddy;46680 Despite all that werd stuff he did, no one can say they didnt like his music. Michael Jackson hasn't put out a good tune since the '80s. Actually, looking back, he really only had the two great albums (Thriller and Bad). Perhaps if he had stuck with Quincy Jones his career would have taken a different course. 1983

Yeah, I don't know. On the one hand, he was the King of Pop during the '80s. On the other, he did fiddle children.

If you want to rotate a motor vertically while mounting to something else, it's the same button as the horizontal rotations.

THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HAND IT OVER WITHOUT GAINING ANYTHING! What makes you think that Atari is completely unwilling to give away the source code for free? Why do you assume that they are a bunch of greedy bastards? Do you have prior experience with them doing something similar? 1989

While it would be cool if we, the community owned the distribution rights, I don't think that's very feasible (unless some of you are very wealthy). In a world where we did have the money to buy the rights to the game under the Game Tech Mods corporation (which we would need to form to severely reduce financial liabilities), it would be great to develop versions of this game for WiiWare, iPhone app store, and/or Xbox Live Arcade. From what I understand, those venues are great for smalltime developers.

I think the longest I've been up is around 36 hours. I was on the pep band at Washington State University, and the night before the PAC 10 Women's Basketball Tournament, we decided to not sleep and stay up all night playing Wii and Xbox on a projector with a huge screen. The following day we had to play music all over San Jose, CA. Staying awake while playing was a bit difficult.

So yeah, I've yet to go to bed. I had to take my brother to the airport at 4 in the morning, so instead of going to sleep and waking up early, I decided to just stay up all night. I don't think I'll be able to make it to 24 hours.

Chatterbox / How did YOU come up with your name?« on: June 21, 2009, 05:09:45 PM »
Where did that other thread go?
Anyways, Jeffery is my actual factual name. Contrary to popular belief, my name is not "Jeffrey". Unlike that spelling, my spelling has three syllables instead of two. Frezal comes from an ogre I drew in MS Paint at least 100 years ago. I don't know why I named him that. It was only after the fact that I realized that Frezal is an actual name. The handle "frezal" was first used for my hotmail account. I had just drawn the thing when signing up for the hotmail account, so I used its name for the handle. Sort of. Frezal was taken, so I had to go with Frezal2. When signing up for the official Robot Arena forums, I went with Frezal2 as well. After the update to the forum software with the 30x30 avatars, I changed my name to "frezal" without the 2 and with a lower "f". When I joined here, I don't remember why I chose my real name instead of frezal. Maybe I was just tired of it. 1995

A n00b being someone that has been here less than 6 months and most improved meaning compared to how they started. I feel it would give us n00bs something more to aim at. Uh...no no. Newbs are newcomers with beginner level knowledge and social skills, whereas n00bs are people who will perpetually be plagued with the expected idiocy of newbs. There cannot be improvement with n00bs. Newbs, on the other hand, can improve and become useful. 1998

I get a feeling "Best worm food" or "Best corpses" or "Best casket stuffers" would be worse. Those would be worse, but it's not as if those are the only other options. How about "Best Former Members"? That would include all those who passed away, all who were banned, and all who left on their own without insulting anyone. 1999

Another bone to pick: Putting Lu-Tze in a "Gone Missing" category? Do you know how horrible that is? She didn't go missing; she ****ing died! We were informed of this when it happened. So she never went missing. There was no period of time where people were wondering, "Hey, where did Lu-Tze go?" She was active up until her death. Poor choice of words, Sage.

I've just kind of heard of the name "Dummy" before. Admittedly, I don't even know who he was or what he did for the community. It would be nice if someone could fill me in. Dummy is the guy who opened up modding. He made the first custom components, and custom arenas. After doing so, he gave us the tools to do it ourselves. |
