Mighty Putty just fixed my lyre. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, a lyre is a little metal thing used in marching band to hold up your flip folder (which is the booklet thing that holds all of your music).

Chatterbox / I HATE MAC« on: June 30, 2009, 12:54:02 PM »Quote from: GameKing3;47634 Thats always been my favorite thing about mac's is that you can have Windows and OS installed and switch back and forth. That and the superior graphic design programs The downfall is that windows does not work the best on mac's. By that i mean glitchy, slow, etc.. That's always been your favorite thing about Macs? Were you born in '06? Bootcamp didn't come along until Intel processors (which were first introduced to Macs in '06). Previously, you had to emulate in order to run Windows, which presented the slow and glitchy problems you listed. If you run Windows in Bootcamp, your Mac acts just like an ordinary PC. Any glitchyness is the fault of the user. As for superior graphic design programs, that hasn't been true for a few years now. Sure, Final Cut Pro is nice, but the programs on Windows have caught up (and Photoshop is now offering more on the Windows front than the Mac). These days it really is all about personal preference. 1964

My craft skills are more in the wood department. I've never really even attempted metal working. I've done some soldering here and there, but that's all.

I've got a '99 Ford Explorer. I may or may not post pics. It depends on whether or not I feel like taking pictures the next time I drive.

Off-Topic Discussion / Michael Jackson Dead?« on: June 27, 2009, 07:23:20 PM »Quote from: JoeBlo;46866 that is true the e[a]tles started the movement of rock into the music world before AC/DC made it more what it is today[.] That's the first time I've ever seen anyone give that much credit to AC/DC. I like AC/DC, but I don't think they were THAT innovative. Quote from: infiniteinertia;46817 It depends. He was a tremendous athlete. And I for one would know. Why should you know? You weren't old enough to see him play. And why would it depend? Both men allegedly did awful things. Quote from: infiniteinertia;46817 The racial divide in this country is all blown up by the media. The only racial divide still occurs in many southern states. That is not true at all. When I was in high school, I thought the same thing. Once I entered the real world, I began to see how wrong I was. Quote from: infiniteinertia;46817 I don't really equate the British Invasion with pop. I equate them with what started Rock N Roll. I assumed you were talking about song structure. If you're talking more about generalized sound, Michael did pioneer that bubble gum sound used today by Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and various others. Though to be fair, Quincy Jones deserves some of that credit. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have had the funky sound of New Jack (Thriller and on). Quote from: infiniteinertia;46817 Remember, he was also a child star. And those two albums, combined, have sold more collectively than 99% of other artists have sold with any two albums. When talking about Michael Jackson's solo career, people are generally referring to New Jack. In the New Jack era, his first two albums were amazing. The remaining three were fairly mediocre. I still think Michael Jackson was a great musician. In fact, I was really hoping he would bounce back with the tour he had planned. That said, he was a human with lots of flaws. To pretend otherwise is just foolish. 1977
