They brought an unfinished robot to the qualifiers, and regardless of whether or not they were offered a position, couldn't finish their robot in time.  It's unfortunate, but by Series 7, most robots had strong enough armour to stand up to that tanto blade so I don't imagine that it would have gotten that far.

Team Fortress (????)
A new reboot to Mortal Kombat (Warner Bros and New Line Cinemas)
Wonder how you'll make a movie plot around TF2? Also, I do think a new Mortal Kombat movie sounds quite good- hopefully we'll actually see Scorpion and Sub Zero fight in it.

TF2 actually has the most potential to be a good movie; normally a video game movie is bound by the plot of its source material, but TF2 doesn't really have a plot

It's a lot harder to argue with the Robot Wars decisions since they don't show the entire match.  But yes, based on the footage that was shown, it looked like T2 was on top the entire time.

Hard to say, because the loss of drive was probably unrelated to the weapon breaking.  Leaning towards yes because Wild Thing couldn't hit 259 without touching the disc until 259 was barely moving.

Apparently 259's belt was damaged in the first round and Adam didn't notice it.  So it's unfortunate, but the loss was partially his own fault.

Overkill vs FrenZy.  Overkill landed like 2 taps on FrenZy, whilst FrenZy landed at least a good dozen.  Overkill got stuck on the killsaws and the spikes, and the best thing the commentators could say about it was that Overkill eventually freed itself.  Somehow Overkill won 7-2 which should be impossible as FrenZy was the only one demonstrating aggression or strategy.  The judges must have had a hard on for that blade because I didn't see it do a damn thing.

Honestly I was more moved by those Europeans with funny accents that did a cover of an MLP song for charity.

I gave them 5.5 euros, which looks to be about twice as much money as the guy spent on the bum.

@freez Which one is PA?  Also, you're not as alone as you think in your dislike of Transformers.

I saw Constantine, I'd say it's no worse than any other obscure comic book movie. (Hellboy, Dardevil, etc)

I don't know if this counts: I liked Scott Pilgrim, but thought Michael Cera was a poor choice for the lead.

True, but given the context, I imagine it would have gone a lot worse if he had been asking for "coke."

So the moral of the story is "get your own damn Pepsi once in a while?"

Everything by Armond White.  Every time he puts pen to paper, the world gets a little bit stupider.  This is his Toy Story review.  The coward tried to delete it, but as is the nature of the internet it was pretty easy to recover:

I guess my question is, why was that robot allowed to keep fighting unabated?

How does Dragon Con get away with such flagrant disregard for safety (no offense if anyone affiliated is reading this)?  In this clip, a spectator nearly gets brained by a vertical spinner tossing its opponent out of the arena (1:37)

Do you recall if you could flip other robots over the wall?  It looked like every arena except the Battlebox had no side barriers.

If nothing, I will say that it's the best S7 Chip replica in existance - I lost mine when my computer died.  I'm not sure why you drew the lightning bolt freehand, even MS Paint has a line drawing tool.

Nah, it's just the toy for comparison purposes.
