Okay, deal.
Too bad, the 5 weapons rule + no popups would make for some interesting designs. You might actually start considering stuff like sledgehammers for their kinetic energy-carrying capacity and good throwing power (Mjorhmei in BBEANS5 is a good example of this). Then again, it would almost certainly be a VS-fest... and if VS's were banned, it would be a something else-fest... you just can't enforce variety. I like this tourney but I can't guarantee I'll have time to make a bot for it.

I never thought I would ever use the words "realistic", "stock", "HS", and "good" all in the same sentence. It's surprising what comes out when you restrict certain aspects of bot building. Things once thought impossible suddenly start being done.

I meant ========|| || So MORE leverage.
Oh. I don't think it will rupt like that. The rupt glitch is very touchy--it won't work if the flipper is very long or heavy. At least it didn't rupt on my Click Beetle... but maybe on another bot.

Super Girly Flower Bot
wat
Red's original BBEANS bot that he hasn't showcased.

Extenders are overlapped - like on AoN. It so just happens that the spikes overlap too.
WHEW... you made me think AoN might be unrealistic and I would have to switch your entry back to Super Girly Flower Bot and redo the AI and the splash... fortunately, after double-checking AoN, that's not the case. AoS has a lot of weapons for an AW. Heck, there are a lot of full LW's with those same weapons. But I think with 1mm Plastic you will still get "Nothing" against certain bots... maybe "Something or Nothing" would be a better name. It should be less intimidating than the LW's name.

That hammer looks deadly if the wedges are good. The only problem is that those extenders are a weak link in your otherwise-impenetrable front. But not much you can do about that and still keep them curved.
And yeah, an Etek is probably a better weapon motor for most MW shell spinners, unless you really need a lot of speed.

InfiniteInertia vs. Roboman and Doomkiller
Inf really knew what he was doing when he entered that wedged HS... it really does a number on Witch. However, OMG YKK and it's super low undercutting irons make it tough for Inf to get a good hold on it. And Inf's other HS is super solid. Watch for multiple OOTAs and an AWESOME FIRE KO!
So where was the fire KO? I didn't see one. Unless you just mean when YKK was on fire... Good match anyways. Looks like Inf also knew what he was doing with Ohs' radius setting.

I'll vote #1 for its cool insectoid looks... though it should really be called Gerrid rather than Gasteracanth. It looks nothing like a spiny orb weaver. A water strider, on the other hand...
#5 is a close second. It's an interesting concept, but I can't see it being effective, especially since I'm pretty certain the wheels would AGOD.

SnSnS 3 vs. Crazed Fireman - that's why I use FBS_2.py... it has the 'chase_time' parameter that makes the bot stop snsing and chase the opponent after a certain time with no hits. I think the result would be the same (SnSnS 3 outweapons CF) but it would make for a more interesting fight.
And where was R1885 this whole time? His bot looks really good now. Wouldn't be surprised if he wins the playoff for the #10 spot.

Hey everyone. I'm back, and the wildcard tournament videos are up! The 64th bot in the tournament is decided!
I wanted to get the wildcards done quickly, so the whole thing is combined into 3 parts, 2 fights each, with minimal extra effects. The main tournament videos will look more like the mock battle I posted on Youtube.
AND that's not all, I also got the brackets made up! Warning: contains spoilers for the wildcard tournament. Don't scroll down too far if you want to keep the wildcards a surprise.
Everything is on the first page of this thread.

Wow. Great bot.
I don't know much about DSL SnS's, since I've never built one aside from the original StingRay and 360 Arc Pounder, but could you get away with using Vlad wheels instead of Technos? A lot of SHW SnS's use 4WD E-teks with Technos, so 6WD with Vlads might pan out. This would let you attach spiked clubs or beater bars on the axles, and attach the hammers to those, which would increase both reach and weapon weight.

090901 is the most evil person here And I would expect LDL to be more chaotic, judging by his posts. I finally was bothered to do this thing: You are 47.2% Good. You are 46.2% Lawful. Alignment: Lawful Good

It would be much more efficient if you could attach the ram plates with baseplate anchors. But it's still a nice looking bot--very compact. On first glance I thought it was a LW.

But the angle connectors make a slightly longer wedge, which means more leverage, which could mean a better flip. And it's only 4 more kgs. I would leave it as is.
I would focus on replacing the middle Snapper with another forward-facing DDT flipper (non-rupting). Most Rupt flippers do this--the middle flipper acts as a srimech and also adds to the flipping power. Then I would focus on batteries--2 Supervolts is almost, but not quite enough to power 3 DDT's and 2 drive motors.

Note 2: What happened to my skin!!!! Its all messed up and stuff kinda like ItI's
I assumed you were aware of that. Are you sure the skin is a square, and the dimensions are 256x256, 512x512, or 1024x1024? Since it's only a skin, I'll accept an update from you if you can figure out how to fix it. So the bot looks good in the videos.

Why does it use battlepacks?
For saving weight and because it has enough battery power for now... but i would rally use 3 PC545s here.
Yep, battlepacks give slightly more amps than an equal weight in ant batteries, and for burst motors amps are important. PC545s... the reason I didn't use those is actually because I was too lazy to rebuild the chassis :P I wasn't sure if the bot would actually be good, so I didn't worry about fine-tuning the chassis at first. When it turned out even better than I expected, I didn't want to rebuild it. Anyways, here is my Nar AI Wars bot. This is the one that's pretty good when I'm driving it, but struggles to beat any Nar AI bots as AI. It's another inertia-powered flipper like Ludicrous Speed. 6 fast NPC's, 3mm plastic, 6 ants, the rest you can see. The idea is that I can box-rush opponents and flip them out before they get a chance to move. Now if only the AI would drive effectively... And in case you're wondering, the name R17 comes from this passage from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: The aircar rocketed them at speeds in excess of R17 through the steel tunnels that lead out onto the appalling surface of the planet which was now in the grip of yet another drear morning twilight. Ghastly grey lights congealed on the land. R is a velocity measure, defined as a reasonable speed of travel that is consistent with health, mental wellbeing and not being more than say five minutes late. It is therefore clearly an almost infinitely variable figure according to circumstances, since the first two factors vary not only with speed taken as an absolute, but also with awareness of the third factor. Unless handled with tranquility this equation can result in considerable stress, ulcers and even death. R17 is not a fixed velocity, but it is clearly far too fast.

Yes, you just have to change the AI type from "Flipper" to "FBS_2" or whatever AI you want to use, and add any new parameters you might need (such as 'range').

North Dakota, surveying native bees.
Oh, and Redline: check your email regarding your bot update you sent...
Let's start off some discussion on the bots, shall we?
Careful observers will note that I said I would be entering Bisector II, but the bot in the splash is the original Bisector. This is because I was unable to AI Bisector II effectively. Bisector I, while not as good of a bot, performs much better as AI.

Two more videos for the winner's quarter finals!!
Is there a clear winner in sight?
What quarterfinals? Huh, I guess with this last win I'm in the quarterfinals. Cool. I think this is the best I've done in a tournament since BBEANS3. But looks like I'm up against next round... so my winning streak might be at an end. Trial and Error don't like that type of bot. Error might have a chance though, with its caster armor.
