Yea, the giant shark fin (the sword) also hinders invertibility. But as Pwn said, the DDTs can self right it, which is even better.

You can pause the game using the pause button on your keyboard, allowing cool things like attaching weapons to pistons
Oh so THATS how you get all those awesome connection-related shenanigans.
Hang on, you can always attatch weapons to pistons :P

Not in this case. The row of ice picks blocks attachment.

@click- Haven't tried. Lost to pandemonium though.

I'm still a little confused as to how you got those pistons in there O,o

Snapper loading, though this is more volatile as he's attaching pistons. XD YOU HAVE NO IDEA
....you can actually snapper load the piston rods? Yes but what I had to do to attach the other weapons caused massive havok INSIDE the bot lab. most annoying thing >.>

Yep. It's recommended that you use the pause button often as these tend to spaz out while you're flexing the snappers.
Yea, I was wondering how he got those spikes and junk inside the batteries and what-not.

@ VB- yea i'll get it up there.

Contests / Re: Vote BOTM March 2011
« on: March 06, 2011, 12:31:02 AM »
If Ice Phoenix wins, ima be so upset. IT CAN'T DO ANYTHING. looks shouldn't be everything in BOTM. like I would rather have #8 win.
Quoted for truth.  I don't mind if a cool-looking bot wins, but if looks are the only thing it has then that makes me unhappy.

I voted for #1. Although I don't like the design overall, from what I see it's the most combat-effective machine here.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, Bruce isn't very much more effective.  It only has 8 razors that can actually hit stuff.  It would be much better with axe heads or moar razors instead of ice picks, but the ice picks give it a really cool 'shark-mouth' look (especially with the shark tooth skin), which is why I classed it as an artbot.

Actually, theres another row of 8 static razors above the ice picks, slightly sticking out. you can see it better in the alternate splash i posted in my showcase. thats 16 razors that can damage, plus any slight damage a bot receives from riding on top of the ice picks. Also, the ice picks have HUGE defense. Even against a 36HS not even half of them got torn off (even tho the side of the chassis still got hit >.>)

but it's old news, congratulations click. Ice Phoenix does look AWESOME.

Even if it didn't win BOTM, it still is a good bot with a neat build/setup.

You have to make some sorta vectors for it (its the same vectors as the mesh, but for the skin to read). I have no idea how to do it, but I know that serge trov or mad would.

CB put up all the parts for download on his site...

yes I realize this, but if you don't win it fair and sqaure it's as useful as any other custom component.

Usually takes 20 seconds or less.

Or you could win BBEANS and get that cool battery

DP?

err perhaps we should have an ART botm and a BUILD botm, switching off every other month.

ART botm would be basically what we have now, but with all emphasis on looks.

BUILD botm would have strict guidelines (paintjob must be done in game, nothing custom), no component skins, splash would feature just the default grey background with an inside shot, weight, outside shot from a different angle, battleshot or two, and a title. Would be evaluated on the quality of the build of the robot (messy/clean setup, combat effectiveness, originality). After winning this type of BOTM, the builder could have a few days to make a nice looking splash before it gets put on the front page.
