material = metal(X) adds damage to non weapon components.  Though nobody know how X translates to piercing/concussion.

For another kicker, type = power makes something indestructible.  So you can make some super indestructible flamer weapon with

base = Flamethrower
type = power
material = metal(15)
frequency = 65535

Some psychiatric drugs are crap, I definitely agree with you there. However, drugs that are used to treat ADD or Tourettes have effects on the body that are different than recreational drugs. These drugs improves people's standards of living by making their disorders more manageable. There is a distinction that can be drawn between psychiatric drugs and recreational drugs.
Naturally, different drugs has different effects.

In regard to ADHD and Ritalin, the thing is Ritalin can improve academic performance of many people, with or without ADHD.  I know some people in college buys them at 20 dollars a piece "out of the book", and use them the day before an exam/paper due.  Why should ADHD patience be the only ones to have access to them, if raising people's standard of living is the concern?

123's intellectual rants (not that's it's a bad thing) slightly reminds me of madiaba :P

Anyways,   drugs in general can be considered as bad because they are mostly   shackles (Yes, I'm talking of alcohol as well, even if I drink some).   Unless you can't control yourself without special drugs of course, but   then it's a "necessary evil" and needs to be fixed.
Besides drugs, people are shackles to many recreational things, such as television or gaming.

Minor mental disorder is just nonsense made up to rip money off from obnoxious women.

That is an oversimplification. Mental disorders (those that affect someones quality of life) are very real. I honestly don't know what you mean by "minor."
I don't doubt some people are crazy.  The made up nonsense is when people tell you you have a "minor" or "mild" case of a disorder and needed "therapy" or "counseling", when you were living your day to day life just fine all along.

Then we have drugs.....  And yeah anyone who smoke a joint knows that feel good drugs work.  It doesn't mean being intoxicated is the state of a normal mind.

Comparing recreational drugs to psychiatric drugs isn't all that fair.
Look at it this way, there are some people who can't stop crying and think about how worthless they are in their bed, I can see why those people needed Prozac.  Even then functionality should not be equated with normality, as normality implies some kind of objective state of values/beliefs that everyone must strive for.

The moment we stop trying to "normalize" people and recognize that psychiatric drugs are used for "functional" purposes, the line between recreational and psychiatric drugs becomes meaningless.  Drugs should be judged based on their effects.

With the bad press aside, marijuana works wonders as an anti depressant/anti anxiety/pain relief.

If someone turn SFTW into a GMF, porting it into a cannon should be pretty easy.

Minor mental disorder is just nonsense made up to rip money off from obnoxious women.  Don't believe me?  Go through history of psychology from Freudian to modern counseling.  It's just some old grumpy people constantly telling you how everything about you is wrong.  And look, if your therapist is what's they consider normal, do you really want to be like them?  Once they have to treat real disorders like PTSD, they fell flat on their face.

Then we have drugs.....  And yeah anyone who smoke a joint knows that feel good drugs work.  It doesn't mean being intoxicated is the state of a normal mind.

Put in another way, if you can stay in school/maintain a job, you don't have problems.

Mild case of Mental Disorder is like Nostradamus Predictions.  People are trying way to hard to make things fit.

People with real mental disorders should act like ACAMS, where his Assholesamongus Syndrome is undisputed.

For combat bots, DSL haven't move much.  It's been stuck in the same optimum strategy for quite a while now.  I agree not much creativity is going on there.

However, I disagree that DSL is necessary less creative, at least for BOTM.  The larger pallet of DSL really is needed to create some of the visual effects.  Stocks just can't do it.

Most bot that fights on top have problem with wheels coming off.

Why move away from the best game ever made?

Most other games are stupid and boring anyway.  Just finger dexterity and time management.

I was just rephrasing what you said at the time.

Obviously I didn't intend to keep my behavior anonymous, but other people have that option.

I can't get the skirt hinges to be invisible outside the botlab, despite putting "alwaysvisible = false" into the txt file.  Help?
That's only for components directly connected to the chassis.

For GMF editing, look for "transparency" and set it to 1.  Be sure you are setting it for the right material (or just search for all incidents of transparency and set them all = 1).

You made a drum into a firing cannon.

Skinning components will always be allowed!

If all you did was reskin the drum and make it look like a cannon....what I assumed, then all is OK!!!
The version Joe send in is a reskin drum.

The version I put up afterward is modded into a cannon, which isn't a BOTM.

So you are banning reskin components now?

Though I would say that's an unfair assessment given my version on custom showcase isn't even submitted for BOTM.

As long as reskinning is allow, I can reskin every single component and not break a single rule.  Whereas 1 spike is still breaking the rule because it is entirely a custom component.
