Aaron removed all of the questions after SKBT's.

I never asked him a question...

I blame the second Shish-ka-question on Sparkey.

Aaron's treated like he's the king of combat robots.

No he's not treated that way by any real competitors.

Also has team runamuck ever done a complete build? They always seem to steal their drivetrains from something else

@Sonny, The RFL and NERC forums are always willing to help and answer questions.

For the flipper,

Move the drive closer to the front so the bot has a smaller turnig circle which will make it harder to flank. You could go two routs to eat up the weight, more armor or another JX burst mounted (externally or internally) between the other two.

I could say something, if you'd like.

Don't, I see no point in it and as long as NERC allows Shish-Kabot in the Sportsman class it isn't an issue.

I can't find Inf AI...anyone know where it is ? (newb question)

It's in a thread called Inf's Summer Magic.

Nope, I don't want to escalate the issue and technically everyone is entitled to their opinion no-matter how wrong or warped it is.

Also one of you guys should ask him how runaway would do today in combat.

Sorry I missed the debate last night, but ugghhhh god I hate Team runamok with a passion. They think they reinvented the wedge, all hey did was stick sheet metal on top of an old lawnmower. It really pisses me off that they act like Shish-Ka-Bot is a "rule breaker."

They truly did everything wrong in a wedgebot... Vastly underpowered, car steering, thin wedge, unpowered wheels and underweight.

Shish-Kabot has less of a wedge than Gigarange, Upheaval, UberClocker, Lock Jaw and Phoenix have. Shish-Kabot upholds all their "ideals"; simplicitcy in design (it has 6 moving parts), robustness and effectiveness. I would have thought that it would have been a "poster bot" for them, not a subject of hatred.

Also who asked about Shish-Kabot anyways?

Please boycott his site and do not point anyone towards him for help because they will get insulted and be fed bad information.

I will gladly campaign this, I read his site once and never again, its exactly the kind of person you dont need in this sport..

[okay] looked far worse than any damage 'Enforcer' likely could have done to the polycarbonate top of 'Shish-Kabot' [/okay]

Isnt the point of the web to be sacrificial so the robot itself remains untouched?

Thanks for your support Joe, I read his site and asked on question two years ago about chromoly vs TI and got a smart ass answer from him. I only got word of this when another builder who shall remain nameless tipped me off about it.

Yes the whole point of D-Fence (Not the 'Web') was to be expendable and protect my $40 top armor for one fight.

Also thanks Nate, Scrap and Somebody for your support.

[error]Q: What do you think of Shish-Kabot's web it used against Enforcer (video)?[/error]

[okay]A: It looks like the 'web' did more harm than good. The soft aluminum angle used to support the web bent badly and looked far worse than any damage 'Enforcer' likely could have done to the polycarbonate top of 'Shish-Kabot' (that is polycarbonate, I hope). I think the web was a mistake.

[/okay]

Could someone explain to me why Aaron Joerger is such an asshole and hates me/my robots?

It's not even a fair assessment of the D-Fence "web". Really, saying that "the damage would have been far less" is complete horse sh**. If you've ever cut lexan you know what I mean. Shish has a lovely .5" deep 3" long battle scar from Enforcer to say that would have been less is wrong. The "Soft Almuminum" was 1/16" 6061 grade (also what Aaron constantly recommends to use) It seems to me like Aaron has been away from the arena and out of touch for too long...

Oh...

Wait he has been away for a long time. Infact it's been 8 years since he last competed with his toy (robot)

Why is it that people even go to him for advice? He isnt particulary helpful and worms his way out of hard questions with "I'm not an engineering service" or "I answered that already, now go find it yourself in the archives"

I'm sorry if this isn't exactly PG-13 but it's how I think is best to get my point across.

Please boycott his site and do not point anyone towards him for help because they will get insulted and be fed bad information.
