Instead of making it two wheel drive with chained HPZteks, why not make it 4wd with 4 individual HPZteks? That way, if one of your wheels gets knocked off, it won't affect your bot's performance as much.

Hey sage, you should post that video you took of helicopter vs. SD's SpongeBot. That was a great fight xD

I was scared for SD. I seriously thought MM was going to put him out of the arena.

may have a version of Stinger and JACKPOT. They're not amazing, but I'll send them to you and you can see what you can do with them.

Discussion / Posting Quility has taken a dirrastic downturn« on: August 29, 2008, 09:36:09 PM »
For one, I just don't see the point in many of these posts being made. I try to keep my posts to a high-standard, and only post where I feel it is necessary to post. Personally, in my opinion, if (I'm sure I've said this before somewhere else before) everybody just went back to "please" and "thank you" trolling and flaming, etc. would sharply decrease.
Respect in general is something this forum seems to be lacking. Respect for modders, tourney hosts, and noobs is mostly a distant memory, but what suprises me is some of the lack of respect for the veterans that has been shown. These guys, like, Pys and Inf have continually raised the bar and given the next generation something to strive for in terms of building. Without players like them, I guarantee that this community, no matter how small it may be, would have died long ago. And in my time here at GTM, I have not seen respect go towards them at all. Respect is a two way thing, that, as I have seen, in the forum setting must initiate from the new member. When you join, nobody knows who you are, what you can do, and what you're willing to do. You cannot just demand respect right when you waltz in. It just dosen't work like that. Respect the vets, and they in turn will respect you. What many noobs don't realize is that there is a very strong heirarchy here based on skill. Not grammar, attitude, or friendliness, but pure skill. It has been so deeply ingrained in RA2's culture, that any noob that casually strolls in and goes against this notion, purposely or otherwise, looks heretic. What we as the community have to understand, is that they don't understand until it is spelled right out for them. And for all of us, we must remember that this is the internet. Things in writing almost never are understood they way they are meant to be. It's a very im-personal form of communication. Chances are, if something sort of sounds like a flame, it's not meant to be, so it should just be disregarded, instead of over-reacted to. No one here should let themselves be easily provoked. Take the high road. I think that if everybody did that, we'd see much less flaming which makes up, as sad as it may be, a good portion of the forum's posts. 1869

MV: For some reason, RA2 dosen't let you delete the Rookies team. If you do, all of your teams get offset from the programming or something. If you don't want this to happen again, re-install RA2, but this time, don't delete the Rookies, just delete their bots and rename them, etc.

I'm in :D
I just got back form vacation literally 15 minutes ago, so I don't really have a bot. Mabye by the end of the weekend I'll have a nice one ready to go. 1871

Well, here's a bot that I meant to post a while ago, but never got around to it.
A MW FBS. It's decent against SC bots, and seems to give Scrap Daddy a tough time online :P 15 razors (including the one in the disc), 2 irons (for stability), DSA, 1 nifty, 2 pinks, HPZ motor. I'm working on a version of stinger for Inf's pack, and my 3 bots for Gigafrost's pack are nearly complete. I just have to skin them and do a little more tweaking. I'm going away for a week though, so I won't be able to send anyone anything. I planned to enter the BOTM contest too, but I never got around to it. Sage (if/when he gets back): Are you going to post the video of SpongeBot vs. the Helicopter? Please do, it was funny. Cheer for me in BBEANS guys. 1872

Just wondering, what's the status on the pack? Have any more bots been submitted? If not, let's get this thing finished guys. We don't want it to drag out for as long as SCv4 has.

I might need until September to finish refining my bots. I'll try to skin an arena too, but I can't guarantee it'll happen on time.

The stacked battery is brilliant.
Mabye a control board/nifty battery component for the next one? Of course, this would be much more difficult to make than the stacked battery (I'm just assuming you doubled all its stats and reskinned it, bu tI could be wrong), but it would be really handy for LW's. Great work CB. I'm sure the whole community really appreciates it. 1875

Nah, they look about 9 to me.
But then again, all of the Americans would then be worse than a 9 year old girl xD I can't stop laughing at Pys's post. 1876

I wouldn't say he "just beat" NOS-BOT.
Yeah it was a slow match, but NB really was never in it. Smitemare 8 will probably put up more of a fight. Also, Inf's about an 18. According to Pys, he's a 17. I'd say I'm an 11. 1877

Well, I was 12/16 in the predictions. Not bad at all :P (the fights I picked wrong were Psyco Sweeper vs. Rage III, T I T A N vs. Mace 2, ThunderStruck vs. Ham-mer Sandwich 2, and Smitemare 8 vs. Thumper)
Bots that I was impressed by: FIRST ROUND FINALE! Hazardous Contraption Interventionism 2.0 ByeyE Bots that I was dissapointed by (they looked better than they really were): No Name #12 Mace 2 Thumper My bot performed well.
