The question is: Do you NEED a laptop?(i.e. Something portable) If not, get a desktop.
Yes. Definitely YES.

I move my compy around the house often do do stuff and always bring it on holiday overseas so I can check emails, weather etc. while I'm in the hotel room.

I know you can get better specs for money if you go desktop but something portable is a must.

I (myself) don't like it. At all. Very messy and doesn't look very effective.

I (or my dad) honestly don't have enough time these days to do that AT ALL.

Can we move away from self-builds, please?

Wow, so expensive for what you get. (Well, I'm a desktop guy so I wouldn't really know)

Yeah, I made this thread so I get suggestions for what to get

ohaider guys. I'm going to get a new laptop for Christmas around the £900-£1000 mark (with me chipping in ~£200 for it). I've currently been eyeing up the Asus N53, because I trust Asus as a company as I am a happy previous customer etc. etc.

Any thoughts?

Off-topic, but I've seen BNL live twice. The first in Liverpool in which we met Steven Page (the former front man. A bit stuck up, I must say) and in Cambridge we met Tyler Stewart (the drummer) in Cambridge's city centre. A bloody lovely fellow, I must say :thumbup

Anyway, BNL are probably one of the few bands that are actually better live than on the Albums. Do we have any BNL fans in GTM? (not expecting there to be any)

For one, I thought St. Jimmy is a terrible song, and I don't really like Jesus of Suburbia

Green day's singles are good, but their what I call album fillers are garbage.

Also, Feeder. Just a Day, Buck Rogers, Seven Days in The Sun etc. I love Feeder.

Guess who has their 'The Singles' album? =DD

@Nate: MCR or Muse? Yes and Yes.

James Blunt, Mika and Matt Cardle through and through =D
You're a brave person to admit that here :P
Indeed. I have been accused of being gay many times. :/

I was tempted to ask if SOTG had been the only female on the forum until this girl, but youknow... :P

And Enigma, why? There's more music in the world than your style, man.

That's very harsh D:

Oh and it's not the only thing I listen to. Jamiroquai, Crowded House and BNL are some of my favourites.

But probably the 'heaviest' thing I listen to is Feeder TBH =P

I'd drop the multi extenders and attach the teeth directly to the hinge, use a larger rear DSL bar, and your wheel guards look to far out to make them look good.
I don't necessarily see much of an advantage of not having the extenders other than having more weight, as it won't be invertible anyway. They also tend to supplement the flipping action that setups like that give.

As for the rest, I agree.
On second thoughts, I think you're right. Removing the multi-extenders would be a bit pointless.

The bar wouldn't fit if it was one size smaller, and the chassis shape itself means that moving the drive further inwards means there is not enough space for the batteries. But I could make the bar thicker as well...

Oh and I already answered the one about the multi-extenders =P

It would work if you angled the hinge correctly. I wonder if you could mount it right up by the front edge, that would probably make it easier to get a suitable angle.

Hence why I am very stupid :gawe:

I'll go try that now

I think attaching the teeth directly too the hinge would look cooler.
Agreed, but it didn't fit on :gawe:
