People seem to whine about the wedge war in DSL, but it's easily avoided and even can be used against the oponents bots (as I am trying to do more in my DSL bots).
The problem is that every tournament is either a low wall or no wall, which makes getting under far more effective then they otherwise would be. If you play on combat arena or something then wedges are nothing special.

I guess I can just block this on my side by using adblock plus, so it doesn't matter.

If it can be physically done in real life, then it's OK for DSL.
Limiting the design to only those that are "effective in real life" essentially means "Replica Wars". But we already have that. It's fine as a tournament, but it will make DSL really boring if that's the only thing you can do.

I never played on the blade arena so I won't know, but it did OOTA my bot in 1 hit. Just watch the first 10 seconds of my match vs click.

Yeah it's entirely my fault for not knowing what blade arena is and judge by the picture alone.

bullsh** lost, stop watching after the first 10 seconds. I guess that's that.
Couldn't tell how the arena was prior to entering (from that top view I thought the walls are higher than that), and didn't know those blade is 1 hit oota or wouldn't have entered at all. Makes me feel stupid for even entering under those conditions.
I am surprise Click even made hide so big though.
Admit it, you would have done the same strategy if you thought of it. :P
It's not about thought. You just happen to have more information about the Arena than I do. Yes it is entirely my fault for judging the arena by the picture and not actually go in to check. I assumed the metal part was a wall. Have I know it's an open arena with OOTA blade I would complain and not enter at all. At least Joe explicitly explains how his arena works when he made CC4. With that said, can I please be pulled from the loser's bracket as well? While I admit that I usually take losing very seriously, this is the kind of losing that's so explicitly frustrating that makes me never want to enter another tournament again. I was surprised though, that Steel Grinder got flung OOTA so easily. In testing, an OOTA only happened when a fast bot rams the blade head-on at full speed, and sometimes not even then. I suspect there was Havok at work here as well. I've noticed that bots tend to fly further and physics in general are more wonky when the game is lagging, and the game was definitely lagging in this case. I would be interested to know the results of our battle when Fraps isn't running.
And I made Hide big because I thought the rule for multibots would be you lose if 50% of the weight is eliminated, so I made sure to make Hide heavier than Seek.
I thought about entering just a single AW that hid under the blade and never came out, and let all the UHW's commit suicide on the blade... but I didn't want to be TOO cheap and controversial. At least with Seek out there, the opponent has something to attack and a way to win by points. And it is actually a UHW.
I don't see the point in that. The controversy comes from the arena and other people not knowing about it.

It's fine. Theoretically the plow can just come in 2 pieces, connected to the chassis with 2 extenders.
I mean, people get away with having popup taking up the whole length and width of the second wedge, this is nowhere near as outrageous as that.
I suggest replace the entire top armor setup with an ant blade + potter wheel, or another plow.

Are you willing to put this in bot exchange?

Lol It's not that Purse have a good bot, it's just that Failpx got a terrible one. A shell without bottom armor is like a popup without wedge.
Purse bot should kill Failpx's in 1 hit.

The extenders are more likely to break then the motors.
However I would suggest using 3 bsg and just leave them undefended.

But you will lose cuz you will kill my super exposed, super sized, DSA chassis.
But not before this long-legged chunk of fail falls over
You are assuming my bot will have anything more than corpal drive. It wouldn't have the momentum to push anything. Although I think u can lose through immobilization. It's just that you can't KO.

Any weapon (aside from flamethrowers) is too powerful under the condition "you kill the other bot you lose".

If those n00bs ever bring their cheat bots here I will kill them with super massive black hole...... Might even kill their computer in the process so they can STFU permanently.

I realize I might actually be that. Lack of empathy, low social skills overall, a certain clumsiness.
All these stuff are overrated anyway. Men had always live without them throughout history, and only after the feminist movement were men expected to care about other people's feelings.
