That last one can be effective but it's so damn ugly. The name suits it well.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Cats or dogs: The ultimate question« on: September 14, 2014, 07:31:44 AM »+1By prey I mean what they eat, cats play with their food before killing it, they like to let it think it had got away before catching it again, my friends cat once brought in a dead birdI don't see why that should be off-putting. One of the main reasons I like cats best is precisely this one. But cats can be assholes too. Dogs need you all day every day, which is good but can be exhausting. Cats on the other hand, know how to take care of themselves, they act like they own you and are very moody. Cats can split into house cats and outdoor cats. Cats that stay indoors 24h a day tend to be more needy, less moody and stay with you for longer. Outdoor cats are a lot more playful and you can see them do some impressive stunts in your backyard. However they tend to stay out and gone for days. They don't really need you as a food source anyway. But when they want attention they really want attention. I think the reason why I like cats best is because they are less predictable than dogs. 183

My first time building something around shields
Quite underpowered but can be a tough nut to crack against SMGs and snipers ![]() 184

They doubled the GP prices? And I already thought they were overpriced before...

Essentially in Terratech you're in a survival world just as robots and when you destroy enemy robots you can pick up their scraps and then attach them to your own ship. You can make flying vehicles as well. You have Terratech and Scraps as possible similar games. But I think all 3 have their own gameplay style, so it's not comparable, imo 189

I like the idea of the shields. As for the rest I'm not sure. I'm feeling a little lazy to reinstall the game since my Win7 upgrade. 190

I see you've been busy! If only someone mistakenly pressed "sell robot". That would be fun, lol
I haven't played this game since my last post in this thread 191

That's totally not Robocraft looking at all, lol I like the turreted flipper concept. Is it effective? It looks tricky to control. 192

Probably Robocraft influences, hehe. I like the quad tracked tanks the most. They have an interesting sci-fi look

Does it work? I tried making those a long time ago but the servos weren't strong enough to lift the chassis

Custom Components Showcase / Re: Domanating's Custom Showcase of nonsense« on: August 26, 2014, 09:08:26 AM »Yeah we have different priority in what we want to build.Well you see. back in January it was just some random component I send you that nobody else has. Now Ironforge is an completed mod with it's own showcase. This should really be in a Custom Showcase, just saying.Agree. At this point it has hardly anything DSL on it. Nice, m8! Thanks a lot! I did some minor changes on the files so I could have all the extenders available instead of replacing them, in case I need to build a 100% IronForge bot. Changed the preview, though the color is still the same. ![]() Btw, Thanks to whoever split my showcase. ![]() 195

Speaking of which btw, I like your mod and all but those 10cm non cubic extenders make me cringe. DSL3 extenders are a lot easier to work with, imo 196

Sweet! I first thought on transferring only Devourer Deluxe to the Custom Showcase but if that's possible, the idea was to split the showcase starting here...
https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=9561.msg613304#msg613304 ...all the way to the last post. That's when I started using a mix of DSL+IronForge components. I'll then make the necessary adjustments to the first post. 197

I'll get a Custom Showcase up as soon as I can then. 198

Well, given the fact that I lost all my previous bots due to my stupidity, I decided to rebuild some of my previous creations. Also for an incredible strike of bad luck, 2 of you asked for one particular bot of mine hours after I lost the files. I then decided to build that one first with IronForge1.0 plus some other components I manually added from DSL3.0 because I couldn't live without them.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yup. Devourer is back. It can open and close its "mouth" as usual. Now with treads and a fully functional flamethrower turret, 360º horizontal and 360º vertical movements. It also has servos in it to allow higher flame range. Tons of battery power and CO2/flamethrower fuel. Now each "mouth" piece includes a dual motor packed with razors, so if somehow the giant disks of death jam due to the "prey" items found, they will ensure damage is still being dealt. It is very slow but it turns on a dime. Fast bots will have a hard time flanking it. Exposed driving motors and lack of srimech are probably the only weaknesses If anyone is interested in using this behemoth, they should first install the rectangular and triangular the armor plated skirts from DSL3 in Ironforge. I can provide the files for an easy installation, if necessary. Also the flamethrower tower is prone to havoc, but being such a heavy bot there's a chance you can still play normally while it happens, though you can be flung into the darkness sometimes. ![]() 200
